farrphysio - a brilliant team
I have been seeing physios, chiros, masseurs & advisors for 30 years & would say that the 6 months of treatments I've had from a range of specialists at this gem of an operation makes it pound for pound the best I've experienced.
The reason I say this isn't down to the consistently high standard of individual sessions, excellent as these have been. What's remarkable is the way in which the team dovetails as a whole, allowing their range of specialisms into play in a way which can enable one to become not only a rehabilitated athlete but also a better athlete.
The secret? Great leadership. You don't need to spend much time in Adam's company to sense what a good listener he is and his capacity for wise strategic thinking. The 2 other people I know of who've also visited farrphysio happen to be different in age, gender and injury issues to myself and they too have been not just satisfied but impressed by the calibre of support they've received.
Last April I sustained a grade2-3 hamstring tear doing straddle squats. In June I began a series of appontments with Eleni which worked through an incredibly helpful and comprehensive series of strengthening exercises, for which she provided recuperative massage that evolved into hamstring acupuncture given by Adam. While talking to Adam about compromising my hamstring load while maintaining progress at learning to standalone handstand for the 1st time at 56, I was then referred to Dan whose knowledge of callisthenics and passion for it meant he could give me exercises to isolate and strengthen those vital & neglected pushing muscles in the upper body to
achieve the holy grail: exercises which a succession of gym PTs who've boasted callisthenics as a specialism have failed to do. And now to monitor the pounding that regular handstand practice involves I can see physio Chris, who as a fast bowler, has deep understanding of how to look after shoulders, back, lats etc.
Sorry for the long post but knowing the degree of detail we can look for in these matters I thought I needed to back up my ringing endorsement of this super team who have helped me so much.
