Fibby Avis 

Onze dochter heeft met heel veel plezier en vertrouwen snel zelfstandig leren zwemmen. En ze had uiteindelijk heel snel (sneller dan normaal) haar zwemdiploma. De Fibby gaf haar een vliegende start! Een aanrader dus! De Fibby is intuïtief, maakt je kind watervrij en is fijn een leuk om te dragen. Dat laatste maakt het ook iets leuks voor het kind om aan te hebben. We kregen super leuke reacties van iedereen op vakantie. Ouder en kind allebei reuze blij. Fibby is echt top!

We zijn heel blij met de fibby, mijn zoontje was erg bang voor water maar dankzij de leuke filmpjes en handige tips in de app hebben we hem nu water veilig kunnen maken en is hij niet meer angstig in het water. Echt super fijn!!! Ik raad het iedereen aan om dit te proberen

When parenting meets engineering, wonders are made! I bought Fibby for my 3 years old daughter. Over the last week we brought Fibby to the beach and finally tried it on “deep” water. Sara (my daughter) loved thet she could play with her little friend and we were all super happy and proud to see how she was keeping her head out of the water already after the first 10 min! I am an engineer myself and got enthusiastic seeing this amazing invention, I love when engineering is applied to such great causes, even more when it concerns kids!! And now I am happy to see it works! We will keep training and playing with Fibby, cannot wait to bring it to our summer holidays to Italy! Keep up the good work guys!

Helemaal top. De kids zijn er dol op, hebben veel bewegingsvrijheid en ze hebben veel meer lol in spelenderwijs de angst voor het water kwijt te raken. Onze jongste had wat moeite met zijn eerste zwemlessen maar na een zomer met de Fibby was hij heerlijk water-vrij! No brainer.

Fibby is echt een aanrader. Altijd met veel plezier gebruik van gemaakt.

At the time, Fibby was something new and different. My husband bought one during their Kickstarter campaign and to be honest, I was not convinced why my kids would be learning swimming any other way as we did and generations before us did – with the inflatable arm-bands. But I do get the ‘lets support the new products’ logic of kickstarted, so we got the fish-backpack (Fibby). It was well made, materials were good so we kept it around to use – the first summer (my child was not even 2yo) it was a bit too fast to just put it on and let him swim… at the time it was a beach toy, but slowly he started putting it on and being confident around water. The shape was fun and he was able to move freely. The next year (age almost 3 yo), Fibby was the only thing we took to the beach (no other inflatable things) as he was confident swimming with it, he was jumping into the water, knowing that Fibby will keep him afloat, it was easy to put on (but not take off, which is a big advantage I see as a parent) and an overall success. Fibby really is a swimming aid, as it helps the kids buoyancy, but they still have to ‘work’ to be afloat. It keeps them in good position in water and doesn’t interfere with their water play. Now (age 5+), my kid is swimming independently and confidently. My smaller one still puts the Fibby on every time he is around water ‘just in case’. Additional bonus is that we are usually the only once on the beach with Fibby, so the kids are easy to spot. Our whole family is a big fan of the Fibby product and I was very happy to find them in Instagram the other day, when I was talking to a mom on the beach, wanting to show her what it is... I was honestly not sure the product (thought amazing) stayed on the market and not being copied or eaten by any of the big brands. Congrats to you all at the Fibby! And to the parents – yes, it is worth buying and using, we highly recommend it!

Sinds een paar weken hebben wij Fibby en zwemmen bijna elke dag met onze zoon van 2,5 jaar oud. Hij mag van ons altijd kiezen welke bandjes hij gebruikt en kiest nu altijd Fibby. Hij heeft t.o.v. andere bandjes/zwemvesten alle ruimte om te spelen. Hij kan met Fibby prima een klein stukje zwemmen, en heeft volle vertrouwen in Fibby en springt gerust het water in en kan dan goed boven komen en naar de kant terug zwemmen. Wel altijd arm lengte van hem vandaan want hij moet hard werken. Hij heeft nu 8 keer met Fibby gezwommen en je merkt dat hij steeds handiger wordt zwemmen met Fibby.
Als hij moe is dan merk ik wel dat hij me meer opzoekt en meer naar de kant gaat.
Zwemmen gaat natuurlijk en is een hele mooie opstap naar zelfstandig zwemmen en ook het vertrouwen met het water.

Via kickstarter heb ik meegedaan aan dit project en heb er tot op heden geen spijt van. Waar je over het algemeen kinderen ziet zwemmen met zwembandjes geeft de fibby veel meer het gevoel dat je kind normale zwembewegingen kan maken. Fibby zit nooit in de weg. In combinatie met de heldere app die het kind op een spelende wijze leert om het water te durven verkennen maakt dit een erg waardevol product.

The quality of the product is convincing, but the unit size for a child's body from 2 to 6 years is absolutely unrealistic. My daughter will be 5 years old in a month and weighs 18 kg. This puts her in the average range and yet the neoprene vest cuts into her armpits extremely. We have let her wear the Fibby dry twice at home and she has complained of pain each time. The third time she didn't even want to put the Fibby on. This makes it completely useless for us; we haven't even been able to try the Fibby out in the water. Now I'm organizing a return, let's see how this goes...

Completly useless, our 3 year old daughter tested this one. She weights about 16 kilos and the fibby says it support weights from 15 up to 30 kilos. From the moment I let go of her hand she started to sink..
