I would strongly encourage anyone…

I would strongly encourage anyone dealing with this insurance company to keep detailed records of every phone call, email, payment, and promise that is made to them. My experience has been extremely frustrating, especially when it comes to communication and the handling of my claim.

I was involved in an accident on June 27, 2026, and I opened a claim because I was dealing with vehicle damage, medical issues, missed work, and other financial losses connected to the accident. Throughout this process, I have repeatedly been told different things by different representatives. The biggest issue has been the lack of consistent communication and the amount of time I have had to spend chasing answers.

I have been waiting on the bodily injury portion of my claim, and I was told that I should receive an offer early this week. I was also told that I would receive updates, but I have repeatedly had to reach out myself because the promised communication does not happen when I am told it will.

This situation has affected me financially. I missed 32 days of work, and my medical bills are over $3,000. I have also dealt with ongoing pain and the financial stress that came with being unable to work normally after the accident. I understand that insurance claims take time, but there is a major difference between a claim taking time to process and a customer repeatedly receiving inconsistent information about what is happening.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for accurate information, reasonable communication, and for my claim to actually be handled. If something is still needed from me, tell me exactly what it is. If my claim is being reviewed, tell me that. If an offer has been approved, tell me. If there is a reason for the delay, explain it. What is unacceptable is being given one answer and then having to call again only to receive a completely different answer.

I have been patient throughout this process, but being patient does not mean I should have to continuously chase an insurance company for basic information about my own claim. Every time I call, I should not have to start over or wonder whether the information I was previously given was accurate.

I also want other customers to understand how important it is to document everything. Write down the dates you call, who you speak with, what you are told, and what you are promised. Keep copies of your paperwork and correspondence. Based on my experience, having a record of everything is extremely important.

At this point, I want a truthful and specific response regarding my bodily injury claim, including the status of the claim, whether an offer has been made, what is still being reviewed, and what the next step is. I should not have to keep calling over and over just to get basic answers.

This has been a stressful experience on top of everything I was already dealing with after the accident. I hope the company takes this complaint seriously and improves its communication with customers, because nobody should have to feel like they are being passed around while trying to get answers about a claim that directly affects their finances and well-being.

Do not give this business your money

I carried this company for auto insurance for about two years. At the beginning of a new six month policy they pulled the even amount sum of $250 as they have in the past..... Only made time to call them to explain what happened and to see about the policy but they would have no part in that. They wouldn't admit or acknowledge the affiliation to United Security. Setting up auto pay and never filing a claim means nothing. The reward was piss poor EFT processing, bad telephone attitudes and no accountability whatsoever. I hope they get sued and go bankrupt.

My wife and I have been fighting this…

My wife and I have been fighting this insurance company for almost a year ! Their client hit our truck that was parked at a gas station in cincinnati ohio. We went to meet a claim adjuster that they sent us to and then said they want Their adjuster to look at the truck ?? Finally they sent a check for 1200 less than it quoted at the very end of when the check expired. The check it's self expired the same day I received it in the mail while I was at work and the bank was closed .. talk with 2 or 3 people and then had to wait because the accountant was out on maternity leave. 🙄 finally she returns to work and says that the check is in the mail .. it has yet to show up and now nothing .. nobody will talk to us and can't get a call back

This company is a JOKE ! I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with them

My experience with Chicago First…

My experience with Chicago First Insurance and the handling of my policy renewal has been extremely frustrating and concerning.

I renewed my policy before the expiration of my previous coverage specifically to avoid any lapse. I followed all instructions provided by the broker, made the initial required payment in advance, and was issued an insurance card showing continuous coverage starting 05/09/2026.

Based on what I was told by the broker and what was reflected in the Magnum Insurance portal at the time, I was assured that my coverage would continue seamlessly with no interruption as long as I completed the payment plan within the agreed timeframe.

Despite this, due to what appears to be an internal administrative issue between Chicago First Insurance and Magnum Insurance systems, my policy was later reissued with a changed effective date of 05/12/2026. This resulted in an apparent gap in coverage that I was never informed about in advance and that directly contradicts the documentation I was originally given.

As a customer, this is extremely serious. I took all necessary steps in good faith to ensure continuous coverage, relied on the information provided by the broker, and followed the payment instructions exactly as explained to me. Being placed in a position where I may now have a lapse on my insurance record due to internal processing or communication errors is unacceptable.

At minimum, this situation reflects a lack of coordination and accuracy between systems and communication channels, and it has caused unnecessary stress and potential long-term consequences.

I hope this issue is reviewed seriously and corrected appropriately.

Care for your clients …

They never reach out to explain things to you. One has got to call them and they put you on hold for days.Talking to a representative is like talking to someone that does not care at all. The dealership would have chosen a better insurance company for me. I am so disappointed that people do not care about other people’s wellbeing. Why get into a business knowing that you will not care.
I was involved in a care accident 2 months and some weeks ago. Nobody reaches out to me to o tell me what is need.

First Chicago Insurance Company is one…

First Chicago Insurance Company is one of the worst insurers to deal with after an accident. Filing a claim was a nightmare—poor communication, endless delays, and zero sense of urgency. I constantly had to chase them just to get basic updates.

I’m a limo driver, and they didn’t properly compensate me for loss of wages while my car was in the shop. Instead, they offered just $15 per day—completely unreasonable and nowhere near what I actually lost.

When you need support the most, they make the process stressful and exhausting. I would not recommend them to anyone.

No stars

No stars. STILL waiting on a response from someone as to the estimate that was requested of me and sent in over a month ago, my accident happened in middle of December. Terrible care for calling customers back and never answer or return calls. I will continue to write reviews as its the only way i know what is going on is actually getting out there and read. No response from anyone though. Give the customer a call!

I got rear ended by a client of 1st chicago. I want to say first off it took a month to receive payment. But I GOT ONE! Also it was right about exactly what I wanted and expected to get. I was extremely nervous after reading into many 1st chicago reviews. I knew it would be a miracle. In fact I would say It was! Im a praying man and have been for many years. And I have to say as well if I didn't pray about it I probably would be writing something completely different. Thank God it all worked out for me! And thank you 1st Chicago

I had an accident on 12/5/25 and yet…

I had an accident on 12/5/25 and yet for this insurance to do anything about it. It’s one in a million to get a hold of the adjuster Emily olivera. They did the estimate on 12/17/25 and yet still nothing. There is a place to make a complaint for auto insurances IDOI and they will reach out to them, this might be of help. I just made the complaint and if more people do it they might actually do their job. Their reasoning for not finishing up with the claim is that they are waiting on their insured to provide more documentation. I’ve spoken with their insured and he provided everything necessary few days after the claim was made. Please make the complaint it might give them a push to handle their claims in a timely manner.

I have been a customer with First…

I have been a customer with First Chicago Insurance for 4 years, since I was 18 years old. I maintained a clean driving record the entire time and paid around $250 per month for a 2015 Honda Accord. Over the years, that adds up to roughly $8,000–$10,000.

For that amount of money, I expected professionalism and basic communication. Instead, reaching anyone at this company is nearly impossible. Calls go unanswered, messages are not returned, and when you try repeatedly to get assistance, you are ignored.

The situation became even worse when my mother (also insured through them) was involved in an accident where she was found NOT at fault. She lost her vehicle and is now dealing with a lawsuit — yet there has been little to no communication or guidance from the company. Repeated attempts to contact them have gone nowhere.

Insurance is something you hope you never need — but when you do need it, that’s when the company shows its true colors. Unfortunately, in our experience, this company failed to provide support during the most important moment.

I have now switched to a different insurance provider.

If you’re considering this company, I strongly recommend researching other options first. Customer service and responsiveness matter — especially when you’re paying thousands of dollars over the years.

Having issues with paying my bill and…

Having issues with paying my bill and then they try to charge a 10$ late fee when you can’t even pay your bill! That 10$ late fee isn’t fair when you’re only one day late and it’s because of their system! I tried paying on new website and it says my policy number or zip code is wrong , app won’t let me pay and app has had my name spelled wrong for months since oct to be exact and I’ve mentioned it several times! I also cannot pay over the phone because they could not find my account!! I’m really starting to wonder if I’m being scammed.
