From the moment Sam came to see us we had a positive experience from the company. Jason and Rob, the installers, deserve a five star on their own. Having booked a start time of 9.15 am they turned up within five minutes having left Cardiff at 7am. They were friendly, worked hard and left everything clean and tidy. The staff in the office were also friendly and helpful. Our bungalow is definitely warmer when the heating is switched off.

Knight in shining armour
Came on time work was carried out without any hassle, premises left clean & tidy. All staff I dealt with were very friendly, helpful and polite.
Ian went that extra mile for me and became my Knight in shining armour when I foolishly locked myself out when moving the car for him to start work. He tried everything to see if entry could be found elsewhere. He phoned a colleague, then finally a local locksmith. I hope I’ve learnt a very costly lesson not to leave keys in back of locks.

The job has been stress free from start to finish. The assessor was polite, professional and explained exactly what issues we had, how to rectify them. The roof was worked on by two very competent men. They work very well indeed. The roof looks amazing. All mess was cleaned up and they were so pleasant all day. I would recommend this company anytime. So very pleased with the result and how well we have been treated by everyone connected to the company.

Excellent work but concerned about the installers' health
Ethan and Will installed the foam. They had travelled from Sheffield to Southampton (leaving home at 0400) and were on to Swindon after me, before going back home. They communicated every step, laid dust sheets through the house. They were professional, but did not display ID cards, were in an unmarked van, and had no company logos on their clothes.
The assessor had impressed on me that any family member going into the roof space should wear a mask, due to the old fibreglass insulation in situ. A covid-mask was inadequate. He recommended a mask that would cost about £20.00
Neither Ethan nor Will wore any sort of mask and were in the loft for several hours. Ethan commented that it can catch your chest. I am concerned that proper care has not been taken of the health of these two young men.
I was shown photos of the work on completion. they tided up after themselves. I am happy with the work done.

Open Cell roof insulation
We have just had open cell insulation put in our loft. The insulation assessor and installers were professional, explained everything clearly and did a great job. Communication with Dom at head office was clear and timely and we feel very pleased with the work that has been done. Open Cell Roof Insulation
I was initially sceptical about this form of roof insulation but my questions were answered promptly and seemed to agree with what I could find on the web.
The survey and installation were conducted professionally and with minimal fuss, although the installation was slowed by a small lack of communication between First Stop and the installers. The work was still completed easily within a day with no mess and no problems.
It is too early to say that this will provide a huge saving on energy bills but the house does seem to warm up more quickly and to stay warm longer when the heating switches off at night.
Thus far this has been a positive purchase.

Carried out work on time with minimal upheaval.
The surveyor arrived on time and explained his findings in detail. He offered the solution to damp Rockwool in loft. A day was arranged for open cell spray foam to be applied. This was carried out with minimum fuss. Noticed amazing sound-proofing straight away; savings on heating will, no doubt, follow.

Very happy - open cell foam roof insulation
Whole process has been absolutely fine. The company has been very attentive and answered all our questions, the installation was quick and efficient, and the guys cleaned and tidied up afterwards. The house is already cooler (in hot weather) than it was and I'm sure it will be warmer in the winter. Very happy.

Well done First improvements & the work force
In February 2022 I got a quote from First home improvements which I was pleased with for the product I had asked for.
It was explained to me that I had ordered quite a complexed window style and it may be a later date for the fitting which I was ok with.
On the 25th & 26th of April 2022 First home improvements fitted my new windows.
From day 1 Kevin Kelsey & John Donovan were on time, very respectable towards myself & my property & very hard working.
On both days they cleared up after themselves leaving my home looking tidy.
I absolutely love the windows that they fitted for me it has made such a transformation to my property.

Outstanding from start to finish.
Fair to say we don’t get impressed easily however we couldn’t fault them. Outstanding from start to finish. We had property coated in ivory white with their advised hydrophobic coating. The work was completed in two stages. A team came and did all remedial required,soft washed and treated the walls. A week later they were back and coated our exterior walls twice. Not only it looks amazing, the texture and finish is of great quality. We had our walls painted a few years go by a different company, flaking paint and damp patches started appearing again! After a thorough assessment they were able to pin point water ingress from our roofline in different spots. That’s now sorted and I’m confident I won’t be touching the walls for a fair while. I’d like to thank Paul the assessor and Dom at the office who wowed us not just with their professionalism but for being very down earth straight forward people. We need more companies like this out there! Thank you again and I’m definitely coming back to get my roof done in the summer. Highly recommended!!

We had our roof completed in November…
We had our roof completed in November 2021. Within a day we felt a difference throughout the house. The house felt warmer. Already we not rushing to put our heating on in the cold mornings. The contractors did a great job, within a few hours it was completed, with no mess and everything was left clean and tidy. Open Foam Roof Insulation
I had roof insulation installed only a few days ago so cannot really comment other than to say the 2nd floor seems noticeably warmer. I had spray foam insulation installed in the old part of my 1750'ish cottage 25 years ago & was therefore open to a cold sales call as I had some underfelt issues and knew that spray foam was a sensible solution.
The two staff turned up on time two days later and despite them having technical issues with a spray hose did an excellent, neat, tidy, polite and expert job.
The companies business model is a little disconcerting as much relies on trust on a charismatic sales person for initial paperwork and then administration / payment / warranty / is on-line.
But indications are very positive and the roof is done.
