Jordan was an amazing instructor
Jordan was an amazing instructor, so willing to share his knowledge on anything. After the course I felt very prepared to go out into "the real world" and start my new career. Fit College - South Melbourne
This company is amazing.
I can’t fault anything about them, (except for Marks Dad jokes lol)
I did my cert 3 in fitness with them at Goodlife South Melbourne and the info, practicality, effort Troy and Mark put in is fantastic. Their knowledge is outstanding.
I learnt soo much and thrilled to be able to use this info in my next step of the journey in health and fitness, both in my own life and with others.

Just don’t do it! (Pun intended)
I realise if I write an essay not everyone will want to read it so TLDR: You’re basically paying for your qualifications and they don’t remotely care about your education. One lecturer was a good guy, but couldn’t account for how much the school, as a whole, didn’t care.

I went to Fit College a few years ago to get my Cert IV in Personal Training. I had an entire gym behind me because I’d held my Cert III for years and trained group classes, and everyone was so excited about the possibility of me becoming a PT. I specifically chose Fit College because it was face to face and my online experience for my Cert III was informative, but it lacked immersion. I’d also heard the AIPT wasn’t very good, so I was hopeful that this school might capitalise on the lack of quality provided through the AIPT…
Well, it sucked so bad. It was probably worse than the AIPT.
I would go into the finer details, but ultimately, we had one lecturer who was invested, and wanted to teach us everything he could, but he spent most of his time apologising because he had no time to teach us so much. We basically just did assessments that we didn’t learn anything for prior to undertaking them.
The REAL doozy was this gentleman who was a conditioning coach FOR THE ADELAIDE CROWS. He was the other lecturer. Exciting right? Well, he did not give a flying, you know what. We were a total waste of his time, he was burdened by this job. He would just yawn, that’s what I remember, yawning. I actually had to pull him aside a few times to tell him that he has not taught us anything. He was so checked out that I don’t think he took it personally. Might explain why The Crows can’t make too much happen? Don’t know.
I remember graduation day, we were all saying to each other, god help the industry, WE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING. And here’s the real shame… The head coaches at the gym where I worked were so snowed under with work, that they couldn’t teach me anything. I didn’t know what I was doing, and didn’t want to take big money from people in exchange for a subpar service. I was never motivated to use the piece of paper. We had a group chat which died shortly after the course but everyone else felt the same. PTs demand big money and we didn’t feel comfortable asking for it given we knew what we didn’t know, ANYTHING.
The worst part was we felt awkward, and disappointed, and the lecturers would walk us through the Goodlife gym where the classes were held, to our different assessments, and it was palpable how miserable we were, in front of these small crowds of people working out!
Avoid this place, Fit College is a scam. Find a place where they will let you watch them teach (which should narrow it down) and if you like what you see, ask the students if they always have this experience or if there is a big song and dance going on because you’re watching. And if they maintain that their experience is authentic, pick that place! If you can avoid Fit College, JUST DO IT (pun intended).
I wrote this because I’m seeing them advertised more, and a car with all their advertising on it in the southern suburbs. People should know what they might be in for.

Our approach to education and student support has continued to evolve, and we are committed to ensuring students receive meaningful instruction, practical experience and the support they need throughout their studies.
We’re particularly concerned to hear your comments around assessments, delivery and feeling that there was not enough opportunity to learn the material before being assessed. Our goal is absolutely not for students to feel that they are simply completing assessments to obtain a qualification. We want our graduates to leave with the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to apply what they have learned in the industry.
We also strongly encourage prospective students to speak with our current students, visit our campuses and see our delivery first-hand before making a decision about where to study. We believe students should feel confident that the learning environment and teaching approach are the right fit for them.
Feedback, both positive and negative, helps us continue to review and improve the student experience.

Certificate 4 Online Study
Studying online can be difficult, especially if you work full time hours. In this scenario support from the college is extremely important. The support I received from the team was excellent, they were very responsive to my questions and the feedback helped immensely. Special thanks to Kelly, Sarah, Kathy and Carly.

Glad I did it and would do it again
Glad I did it and would do it again! Trainers were experienced, patient and approachable. Only reason for not giving 5 stars would be that I wish the course was a little bit longer and offered work experience to get more confidence for those returning to the workforce but I know some students want it done and dusted as soon as possible to get back into the real world.

A few tweaks
I believe the course would benefit the students if it was a 4 hr in class session not 3 hrs.
The CPR & first aid should be either a whole day or incorporated into a RTO who specialises in this area as it’s impossible to be certified with only 3 hrs when really it would be about 2 hrs once everyone settled in and instructor completed their introduction.
Time wasted on students who did not go hm and complete the days lesson therefore it moved into the next days lesson and we only have 3 hrs, very frustrating.
Students talking and disrupting the class was very frustrating, instructor not pulling them up.
On a positive side the instructors are very experienced, knowledgeable and supportive.

Highly experienced and knowledgeable teaching
The experienced and knowledgeable teachers care about your learning and put extra effort to help you become an effective personal trainer. I like how they split the course into online self study and practical IRL sessions which makes the practical sessions more fruitful as we often get extended knowledge even beyond the course content such as tips and tricks the teachers have learnt from teaching their many clients the specific exercise. How they guide you to improve your coaching cues, positioning and ability to make technique corrections is also golden.
