Five Star Properties and Bliss Beach Rentals Avis 

We have stayed multiple times. Love it!

Rented room 1216 at Beach Club Resort. The room was filthy! Both bathrooms had mold, sofa was filthy and had a bad oder. We couldn’t tell if the carpet was green or brown it was so filthy! The floors in the living area needed cleaning. When we complained they sent someone to clean. A brief cleaning didn’t help! The cookware was disgusting however, the lady they sent to clean did bring a new set of cookware. We tried to find another place to stay but by then we couldn’t locate anything. They did relocate us to a beautiful unit in another condo the next day. We weren’t able to check in until almost 4 pm the next day. Due to the filth of the room and the late check in the following day, we lost 2 days of our vacation which they refused to refund our money for the lost days. The new unit at a different condo was located across the road from the beach. It was very difficult for 4 elderly people to walk across the road with all our beach supplies. Two of the people in our group have major health issues. We originally rented a condo ON THE BEACH! The new place was very clean and very nice. We didn’t get what we reserved so we feel they should have gladly reimbursed us for the 2 days we lost, but they refused to give us a refund! They made the beginning of our vacation a nightmare! I will never book through this company again! All we got concerning the filthy room was the runaround until they told us they had another unit in another condo. We were forced to spend the night in that filthy place. Unless you enjoy staying in a place with mold all around the tub and shower DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! I’ve sent one photo of the shower in one of the bathrooms. I get sick just thinking about being given such a disgusting place to stay and it wasn’t a cheap room either. The cost was approximately $224 per night. All of us live on fixed incomes so that’s a lot of money to us!!

Sunreal is full of mice and rats. We found proof all over the house and cleaned it up. By the next morning there was more "evidence" and clothes were chewed through. Unbelievable that this company even rents this house. Disgusting and unprofessional that we even experienced this.

After having a reservation for over a month, signing contracts, and even having it all verified by a manger, they called and told me they would not honor the reservation dates. I ask to speak with a manager and they sent me an email and indicating he/she was “too busy” to call that day. Seriously. I would hate to think how they would treat you if there was a problem during your stay. I noticed below other people were commenting they had problems and they would not help. I would highly recommend choosing a reputable company when renting. There are many.

This is our fourth year staying at Bourbon Beach as a family. With a week costing in the tens of thousands of dollars, you would think that all the amenities that they advertise as being special about the house- the bar in the pool, the heated pool and hot tub, etc.- would work.

LAST year, the heating for the pool and hot tub was broken. We considered it a fluke. We are back THIS year and the heating for the pool and hot tub is not working yet again. This time we pushed back to ask them to fix it and they could not care less. They said we signed a contract that things don’t have to be working properly. Seriously?? As a family we have paid nearly six figures over four years to stay here annually and half of the time the pool and hot tub have not been working. Two years in a row now.

This year was especially important to us as my 3 year old is battling leukemia and in chemotherapy. He has a one week break and we came down here to enjoy time and make memories with family. He is extremely sensitive to cold because of treatment and loves the hot tub. I’m heartbroken that he will not get to enjoy the warm water.

In short, the owners of this home will take your 2+ grand per night and make you sign a contract that says none of their facilities or amenities actually have to work as advertised.

Stay somewhere else. There are plenty of places in 30A that care about their visitors and will make sure basic care and upkeep of the facilities are taken care of.

Renters Beware… DO NOT RENT FROM FIVE STAR OR RENT THE BOURBON BEACH HOME. Although the home looks amazing, nothing works: spa, pool heat, ice maker in pool area, tvs, and they refuse to fix and heat pool (and we would b charged for heating pool). Stayed here for 4th year in a row and chose this house bc it is all inclusive. That was important bc our grandson has Leukemia and his immune system is poor so we are unable to go out. We picked Bourbon Beach for the outdoor living and so disappointed bc nothing is working. They have refused to fix or accommodate. We requested it to be heated and they were charging $75/ day, which we agreed to for having pool heated. Pool or hot tub wasn’t working so we put in request to be fixed. Pool contractor says owner what’s refused for months to fix hot tub and will not heat pool about 86 degrees which is not warm if you know about pool. No one shared it would not be heated as well e have paid for this in the past and would not have chosen if they had changed their policy. Funny thing is they were charging us 75/day for heat which was not being heated. $27,000/week should get you a working hot tub, working tvs, working ice maker and everything else they advertise for the home. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE WHERE THEY CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND REPEAT BUSINESS. WE HAVE BEEN PUNK’D by Five Star Rentals and BOURBON BEACH Owner. Five star was rude and could have cared less.

We love the house, Endless Summer, it is beautiful, this was our second summer staying there. I was looking forward to swimming in the pool but discovered there was a black stuff (mold?) in the bottom of the pool. We contacted management and they sent a pool service out to clean it up, this was on Monday, we had not gotten into the pool until Tuesday, then discovered there was black stuff (mold/algae?) all around the sides of the pool. We were very disappointed and we were uncomfortable getting into the pool with it in this condition. We couldn't us the bikes because we couldn't get the combination to the locks from anyone. We were told we had to fill out a waiver and sent to the company that provides the bikes, but the waiver wouldn't process because apparently all the information wasn't input, but the form didn't tell what was missing. The company was called but they couldn't help because they could see the form in real time, to tell what info was missing. Very Disappointing.......

We stayed in Bellissimo. This place needs a little updating, inspections needs to be just that, TV remotes, fan remotes were no where to be found had to call them to find out where they were. The pool had not been cleaned and when we headed for a day at the beach our chair service was not available. However, some issues were cleared up .not to bad of a place the owners really need to check in on their places more.

Great overall experience! The beach house, beach gear/amenities, and management team all exceeded my expectations.

We rented "Reunions." The house and property were not clean. The pool and surrounding area were dirty when we arrived and not serviced the entire time we were there. The upstairs porch and porch swing outside the MBR was unusable due to the collection of dead plant debris from unattended potted plants. The furniture in the living area was so dirty we spread towels out to sit. I didn't call 5-Star to tell them this because that's not my job --- the least they can do, which they didn't do, is see to it, at this price, that the house is very clean. There may be a hint on this site however about the interest level of this management company. The house advertises as suitable "for 14 people." There is a review from a group that recently left --- 22 people!! I had two questions into 5-Star before we arrived and asked for an answer in advance of arrival, but never heard from them. Not a 5-Star experience for $14K. Would not use again.

If you’re looking for experienced, polite and expert staff to help you book and enjoy your vacation then do not book here. You can tell this company is not use to dealing with higher end clientele as they are disorganized and don’t have a clue how to cater to high paying customers. The homes were not all that for what they charge. We will stick to vacationing in the islands or the Mediterranean since the prices equate to what they charge here. Also, asked for an hour late check out time. They refused. Anyone who travels regularly all over the world and stays at 5 star luxury hotels knows that the cost should match the treatment and amenities (that’s what we pay for, after all, instead of choosing a holiday inn). This place does not delivery. One bath towel and one wash cloth per person? Seriously? At the beach where you shower twice a day sometimes. Wow thanks. Love doing laundry 3 times a day. I’ve never in my life heard of such a thing. No water bottles in the rooms or kitchen upon arrival after a 12 hour travel day? Never heard of this either. How thoughtful. I guess Most people drive here from near by communities. Big mistake coming in from Los Angeles. My bad. Didn’t have room to pack arrival waters and snacks. Fully expected manners in the south and a small welcome gift called water. No snacks, welcome basket, chips, assortment of anything waiting? Again, never heard of it. A simple hand written welcome note does wonders. Take note five star, I’m teaching you a few things. Doors impossible to lock on balconies, third floor air conditioner not working properly and had to have someone change a filter the first day (do they do qualify checks before renting out for tens of thousands of dollars to paying customers?). Bathroom doors that don’t lock (privacy anyone?).
If you’re a gold star and high net worth traveler, stay away from this place. It will only irritate you knowing how great things should and could be. This company doesn’t know any better so it sadly doesn’t meet expectations or standards. This company should stick to renting 4 bedrooms out to 20 people who can only afford $500 a person for a week. Going the extra mile to make customers feel taken care of is not this their forte. We will never return. My husband is in the film business and we refer lots of talent and other industry folk to various places we’ve enjoyed. This will not be on the list. Classless.

Montana was fabulous from the moment she took my original call to the next day when she called me back to complete the booking. I had lots of questions and wanted to make sure this was the right home for our beach vacation. She has excellent sales skills and her customer centric mindset bled through during our entire conversation. I highly recommend giving her a call for your next beach getaway!!!

On time and awesome houses!

To begin with, these pictures are outdated, just like the decor. There are few if any places to store your clothes. Some of the bedroom furniture in the photos does not exist. The living room furniture is dirty and outdated. The patio furniture is not the same. The table we had was an old wrought iron high top that was super run down and uncomfortable. The bathroom tubs in the two masters looked dingy and beat up. I realize that people rent this every week and it probably takes a beating but try to keep it up. The main kitchen refrigerator only works at night. The temp increases throughout the day there is a small fridge now in the cramped dining area and wine fridge that does not work at all in a bedroom? We called and NO ONE FROM 5 star returned our calls.
Everyone else in our condo got complimentary beach chair rental - we did not. If your brining your beach gear, be warned that you have to put all of your stuff behind the beach chairs from the company - that’s 3 rows of chairs btw. If you do not call the minute your window opens to get beach chairs (like midnight) you will get locked out and be in the third row. Our beach chair code did not work at first. We had to get a new one in order to reserve chairs. Our door code did not work at first. Tough reality when all of your luggage is at the door. You also have to go 20 minutes away to get your fobs that are just for the beach - why cant those be waiting in the condo to avoid one more thing to do when you check in?
If all you care about is a place to crash ( and you have slept in a cheap motel) to see the beach then this place is fine. If you want a little more, even just a little, this place is not for you. It’s not big ( we had 8 people). Rent something else and do not use 5 star - Compass is on site and more helpful. The beach is beautiful and the area is okay but we will NOT RETURN to this condo.

We stayed at Crystal Dreams in Destin. The condo is gorgeous and spacious. It is 2 stories and has 2 balconies with beach views and plenty of sitting areas for relaxing when not at the beach. It is in the heart of Destin. The building is only 6 stories so you don't spend time waiting for the elevators. I highly recommend this condo.

...The house we rented was awesome! It was beautifully decorated and with three king bedrooms, accomodated our family with grown children really well. The kitchen was stocked to the max and the only thing missing were some oven mitts. The barbeque grill outside allowed us to cook family meals. The bikes we had were a bunch of fun for the whole family but also provided constant transportation for our teenagers to get around the community. There were lots of towels and the house was super clean! I'd rent this house again in a heartbeat. It made our family vacation wonderful.

Was in Destin area on business. We needed a large home to accommodate individual bedrooms for all attending. The house was very clean and offered all the amenities needed for our stay.

Bliss vacation rental cancelled our vacation due to the condo being "sold". Apparently when I called there were no other options to accommodate our vacation. When searching their website I found a comparable options that was slightly more expensive. They stated they would never give us that offer due to the pricing being so high. They never even offered me a chance to even possibly book with that rental. Thats poor business and I do not recommend this company anymore.

Be aware. They cancelled my reservation because the homeowner withdrew from their program. I had booked over Christmas so now I’m left with no Christmas vacation because everything else in my budget is already booked. For a luxury vacation rental company they have awfully poor customer service.

We spent a 3 day weekend in one of their property called "Not the Norm" and it was stellar. If you want a large beach home in the perfect location contact these folks. They manage many properties in the area. Not a cheap stay but the bang for the buck is there. We tripped a GFCI somewhere in the house. After searching, we called (no hold) and a tech was their within 30 min and he found and reset the GFCI. Towels are wrapped up in nice bundles, everyone slept well, tons of seating, plenty of wifi bandwidth. My only knocks are on the outside: Outdoor seating is limited and not on par with neighboring homes or what I'd expect in a home so spectacular in other ways. The pool area does need better lighting. Another review mentioned this and they were right. The pictures online represent the property accurately. Golf cart is great for quick runs to the store or sightseeing.
