FluentU has lots of videos and courses that are good for when you are learning a different language. It also has features to ensure that the words you learn are stuck in your brain 😂 5/5 stars!

This is the best app I've found for building fluency and learning to understand native speakers. It allows you to read while listening and exposes you to a wide variety of terms and idioms.

I've been learning Mandarin Chinese for 2 years now and the only app which I've stuck with really is FluentU! In terms of speaking functions, I honestly don't feel it's necessary when you can speak to people online on sites like italki. I feel that FluentU combines everything I love: Learning in context, stories, many example sentences, spaced repetition... The list goes on! Things I don't like: Lack of discounts!

I used FluentU 1 month ago. It helps me memorize the words and establish the correct English sentence, I Hope after 6 months I can get a good conversation with foreigners as soon as possible.

FluentU takes up where others leave off. Other courses give introductory words, but doesn't really get involved like FluentU. One thing lacking is the speech part. Fluent should try to find a way for the customers to speak towards the program. Not only would it help retention, but it would also correct any mispronunciations.

I love this site. I have a streak of over 800 days in Russian, and around 500 in French and Spanish. I like the fact that you view actual videos and trailers, and you can choose the content that interests you. I like the review function.

I like the fact that it gives you some latitude with foreign characters, like accented letters in Spanish. For example, if you write que instead of qué, it still says you got it right.

There are only a few things I would change. Sometimes when you are typing, the letters stick or repeat, so you have to watch what you're typing very carefully.

I would be better if you could choose which words you don't know, rather than the program deciding for you

I have learn a lot and getting more confident on speaking French. in the moment I'm only practicing by reciting the new phrases on my head it helps me practice where there is no other companion to practice with. And day by day, the language start to sound easier and makes more scene. I really enjoy myself and so eager to get to point when i can speak fluently. I am sure with your application I can get there. It's called fluentU, and the name speaks for itself. not like many other application that teaches you thing that do you any fever. So all I'm saying that you guys are so perfect and i love so much.

I have been a subscriber for many years now, and I must say they continue to improve. Now, they have speaking exercises on the iOS app. Definitely worth the money! The customer service is also very friendly and responsive to every bug report and suggestions I send their way. Kudos to the FluentU Team!

I'm learning German with this service and it's ok. The content has a lot of typos, I'm trying to improve it by sending feedback, but it looks like there's no end to them. I like the part where you watch videos, songs and learn from them, but learning new words is very challenging.

While somewhere they claim that the space repetition method they use is similar to Anki -- Anki is so much better for that. After Anki I feel like I learn the words, here I see 100 different words once every day and by the next day I can't remember 99% of them. I think the main difference is that in Anki if you don't know the word -- it keeps showing it to you during the same sessions, whereas at FluentU they just postpone until tomorrow. Plus they give you hints with audio etc.

FluentU provides an engaging platform to language learning that, in my opinion, is far more effective than book learning. However, the customer service at Fluent U is what sets the service apart from other providers. Recently my one year subscription automatically renewed, this was unexpected as i thought i had purchased a one-time purchase non-renewing subscription. While i enjoyed using fluentU as a student i did not have the funds to continue my subscription. I wrote to customer service and had a response by the lovely Aiza within a few hours. They cancelled my subscription and provided me with a full refund.

I'm using this software since last 2 years, one of the best services provider in india.

It is quite pricey but it does help. One of the better learning apps for sure.

*Update* After 4-5 days I was contacted by a representative. He was polite and refunded the money. They did not explain the cause of the charge, whether it was a mistake or something in the fine print.* This website is a scam. I subscribed to their 14 day free trial two years ago providing my PayPal details. I downgraded before the 14 day trial ended, and was not billed. However, two years later (today), my subscription was automatically changed to the premium plan and they suddenly bill my PayPal account. Either is totally fraudulent or there is some bug with their application! They should refund me the money.
