Great Camino. 05/09/2026. The accommodation was great and we found the bags waiting for us at the hotel every time. The transfers to and from the airport were also handled very well.

Summary: Do not be fooled by the YouTube influencers suggesting that the Cotswold Way is a simple walk from picturesque village to village where tea and scones are on offer.
In reality, it is a very demanding walk with significant elevation changes that will challenge most hikers. It also offers many breathtaking views once you've made the climb. The villages are picturesque and mostly off the beaten path compared to other Cotswold destinations such as Bibury.
Overall: I'm glad I walked the Cotswold Way. Follow the Camino did everything they promised (as they did for my Camino experience in 2025) and took care of the logistical details which allowed me to enjoy the experience. I would highly recommend using them.
Accommodations: All accommodations selected by FtC were clean and came with a stout English breakfast and other options (e.g., vegan).
A few of the accommodations were quite utilitarian with small rooms that left little room around the bed (e.g., no place to open a suitcase). Most of these places also sported very small bathrooms. Examples in this category include Volunteer Inn - Chipping Campden, Swan Hotel - Wotton-under-Edge, and Black Fox - Bath.
Several places, however, were much more than that, with spacious rooms, quaint settings, and extremely friendly staff members (e.g., Broadway Hotel - Broadway, Royal George Hotel - Birdlip, Falcon Inn - Painswick, Stonehouse Court - King's Stanley, and Crown Inn - Tolldown).
I will dine out for a while on my pictures of the unique bathroom with four (!) steps within the bathroom room proper.
All the accommodations had pubs that were frequented by locals and featured a wide selection of drinks, beers, and ciders. Many of the selections were locally brewed. Easy access to the pubs made for relaxing evenings.
Luggage: Unlike the Camino where my luggage was always in my room at the end of the day, only one establishment moved the luggage to the room. As the Cotswold Way was part of a longer vacation, we had more luggage than many. None had elevators (lifts) and none of the assigned rooms were at ground level except for the two establishments that only had ground-level rooms. As a result, hauling the luggage up and down narrow staircases was an unwelcome start and end to each day. Younger walkers may not see this as a problem.
A couple of the accommodations were significantly off the trail, but the information provided by FtC proved inadequate because the points where I needed to leave the trail were not clearly identified. One day, I walked 3 miles more than I had to (6 miles round trip) because of this oversight. Although this extra effort was partly my fault, the maps on the accommodation vouchers are not helpful because the scale is so small as to make them illegible.
The Walk: I found the walk to be difficult -- much more difficult than the Camino even though the distances between accommodations were generally shorter. The walk contained significant elevation changes. Most stages (some days encompassed up to three stages) consisted of a significant climb to the ridge along which the walk was mostly level followed by a descent. The climb, walk, and descent pattern was then repeated for the next stage. Most climbs were straight up with almost no switchbacks to temper the elevation change.
The trail itself was inconsistently sign posted -- some sections were easy to navigate while other sections required trial and error. A couple sections have misleading markers that the locals say they've been trying to get fixed without success. An app such as AllTrails is a must in my opinion for these situations and those when you enter a large field with two diverging paths and no sign posts.
Scenery and views: Outstanding! I loved the Spanish countryside I experienced on the Camino, but I thought that the Cotswold Way had equal or better panoramic views, forest walks, and fields. Most of these areas are not accessible by car, so only walkers (and farmers) experience them. The English countryside is superb! The scenery made up for the difficult climbs on the trail.

The Camino plan they put together for me was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. They handled everything, made it easy to pay for it, and provided a ton of support along the way to prepare for the journey, as well.

From the first contact with Follow The Camino they provided lots of information on what's possible and how these can be adapted to suit our needs. As time went on they were patient and responsive to our queries and changes. The result was that our 8 day camino experience was very enjoyable, our airport transfer and daily luggage transfer between hotels was very efficient. We enjoyed the the different types of hotels and each were aware of our coming and dietary needs etc. We are happy we chose Follow the Camino and have subsequently recommended them to our friends.

Follow the Camino organised an excellent trip. Brilliant hotels and great supporting notes.

FollowTheCamino was easy to work with and put together exactly the trip we wanted. All of the hotels they booked for us were good, some excellent, and most of them were situated either in the center of town or on the path out of town, so we rarely had to backtrack to get going in the mornings. The luggage moving service was inerrant.

Great experience booking and traveling with FTC August 2026. They were helpful and responsive every step of the way, including literally when we were stepping along the way and there was a miscommunication at lodging. This was quickly sorted when I called and was immediately greeted and supported through to the resolution. The hotels were charming and nice, especially Gaudi in Astorga. The hotel locations were right next to the main attractions in the area, which was perfect since we did not want walk more on arrival. Lastly all of the information they provided was informative and clear, from packing lists and training plans, to the walking notes and vouchers with the daily plan. The video orientation was also helpful. We look forward to our next Camino experience with you.

Follow the Camino did all of the logistical thinking for us. The accommodations were varied and comfortable, amenities were all good (a few were WOW! - (Padrón, I will be back!) - meals were plentiful and offered great options. Finding my luggage at the next stop after a rigorous day of walking was such an absolute blessing. From the very beginning stages of my planning / getting in touch with Follow the Camino to the last-minute pre-travel details, everything was truly great. I was seeking a life-changing experience and was blessed to get one, and having all of the necessary plans in place really made all of the difference. I just walked, and contemplated, and let go.
Great communication, great service. Thank you! Highly recommend.

Another great Camino arranged by Follow the Camino, this time from Logrono to Burgos. Accommodations were good to great, and luggage always was waiting for us at the next stop. We appreciated Follow the Camino's frequent communication as our trip approached.

A fine five day walk into Santiago de Compostela. Everything (i.e luggage) showed up on time, accommodations were well-selected and priced, walking plan was just challenging enough to be interesting. We did a different section (San Sebastian to Bilbao) with the same company two years ago and had a similarly great experience.

This group was the most responsive and helpful of any we contacted. Our trip was great! The only change I would make is to not add the dinner meals where possible. The smaller hotels are not set up well for diet request.

This was my first camino. I was doing it in honor of my wife that passed away suddenly last year. I needed to focus my energy on just doing the camino and not worry about the details. I called and spoke with the agent. She set up an itinerary for me and helped me through the entire process. Once in the camino I did not have to think about anything, the luggage, the lodging, the food, all that was taken care of. I am truly thankful and amazed at how seamless the entire adventure was. It gave me the time I needed to focus on my grief and not on the day to day necessities. If you are looking for a one of a kind experience and an amazing camino, look no further "Follow TheCamino" is your only choice.
