Shocking!!

Do not get a black box from this company!!!! Got my son’s insurance that had a mandatory black box. He’s 25, been driving 18 months and a named driver on my own car and has done from the day he passed his test. Unbeknown to both of us the scoring on “late night driving” is way below their “standard” my son is a hard working guy, most days are 12-16 hour shifts for him which some mornings he’s up and away at 4am…. Apparently this isn’t good practice for this company as they score you low on nighttime driving between the hours of 7am and 11pm. He is now being threatened to have his policy cancelled if this score doesn’t improve!!! How is a young guy willing to work and put in every hour under the sun meant to keep up with the companies black box demands if he’s penalised for getting up to go to a job that’s normally very early starts! This is putting massive stress on him!! Once he gets his next pay he will be cancelling this policy and going elsewhere as this is shocking and customer services have advised there is nothing they can do 😡

We’re sorry to hear this and understand the concern caused.

For clarity, drivers are not scored negatively for driving between 7:00am and 11:00pm, as these are core driving hours. Night-time driving that is monitored more closely is 11:00pm to 5:00am.

Driving during this time isn’t prohibited, but does mean that speed, braking and cornering scores must remain within the insurer’s criteria.

When a telematics policy is taken out, customers are advised before the policy goes ahead that the device will monitor speed, braking, cornering and night-time driving. If regular night driving is expected, a telematics policy may not always be suitable.

We would be happy to look into this further, however as this review is not in the policyholder’s name, we’re unable to trace the account.

Please provide the policy reference number here or contact our customer services team so we can review the concerns. We would also be very surprised if our team advised there was nothing we could do, unless the driving score was very poor.

We hope you’ll allow us the opportunity to investigate.

I changed my truck about 2 months into…

I changed my truck about 2 months into my insurance as my truck blew up. I contacted them and they couldn't insure my new car as it wasn't a truvk/van it was classed as a car. I was told because the insurance company (pukka) couldn't insure it wouldn't be charged due to it being their fault...... so I cancelled and started anew insurance with another company. Today they have taken 155£ out of my bank for a cancellation charge..... I've spoken to someone and they have no record of me talking to anyone on my account... I cancellation it with the bank aswell as with pukka. It's now left me with 18£ to last a month for me, my husband and my grown autistic daughter.... its pending in my bank and I can't do anything with that until its cleared. Stay away from pukka and freedom brothers..

reg number. YR54OVC. I'm so angry and upset over this. My direct debit was cancelled and I didn't authorise this payment out of my bank. Because I didn't agree to this payment its surely a type of fraud. Using a bank without my consent.
Reply.... My fat fingers pressed the wrong number. It's YR56OVC I don't talk on the fine I have bank anxiety ATM as this has sent me in a downward spiral. My mental health isn't very good at the best of times.

In order for us to look into this matter fully, we first need to locate the policy in question. Unfortunately, we’re currently unable to trace a policy under the name used for this review. We would therefore ask that you contact us directly with the policyholder’s full name or policy reference so we can review your specific case in detail.

With regard to payments, where a balance is due on a policy, we provide a minimum of seven days’ notice prior to any payment being taken. If card details have been provided with authorisation, payments are collected in line with this agreement. Should a customer wish to prevent a payment from being taken, they are required to contact us in advance so that this can be discussed and actioned where appropriate.

We would also like to clarify that our brokerage name is Freedom Brokers. We work closely with a panel of insurers, including Pukka, but we would welcome the opportunity to review any correspondence or advice previously given to ensure this has been handled correctly.

We genuinely want to help resolve this for you and encourage you to get in touch with our team directly so we can investigate and provide clarity on what has occurred.
