Food looks great, but not a helpful bunch

I asked if they could remove sultanas from their German cheesecake, because I have several chronic illnesses - I'm not allowed dried fruit.
No!
It's faster to make with no sultanas, surely, and I'm potentially a customer who'd order 2-4 cheesecakes every 2 weeks.
Morally and financially baffling.
Wouldn't recommend this company, sorry to say.
From previous reviews, I see that there are regular customer service issues.

Guessing they are closing down

Guessing they are closing down. Used them for 10-15 years now (maybe longer). They were always our go to online order store for proper German sausages. This time their selection was abysmal, just 6 cooking sausages (used to be a large selection. Worst (not wurst unfortunately) of all when it arrived it wasn't even their usual products. They just bought it in from a competitor (Franconian). All of it marked with Franconian labels. I like Franconian but they produce their own version here in the UK and they are very different. I preferred the products German Deli used to source from Germany. It's a shame but this looks like the last time I'll use German Deli. Things became problematic after Brexit but they managed, then after COVID they continued offering COVID deliveries (which are longer and not very convenient but still pricey) and now their product range is poor/not even their own/usual products.

Make sure you real all the small print

Firstly the order arrived late so it missed the event I wanted for. A refund was not offered. (Looking now at the website there is a warning, so be aware this is likely to happen). Then when it arrived the sauerkraut were 2.5 weeks out of date (again something the site does warn about so do be aware but it is a little strange) and the sausages were from Edeka's 'Good and cheap' range, which was little disappointing. The customer service manner on the phone was very abrupt. All in all very unsatisfactory experience. I won't be back.Make sure you read all the small print!

Customer service needs work!

I have used their service twice recently. The website is not particularly easy to use and I did not realise that one of the items ordered was past its “best before” date and had been discounted. Don’t know how I did that but was surprised at the response of Customer Service who were abrupt and rather rude stating they were legally at liberty to sell items past their BB date if they wishes and I was at fault for not realising (which I was). Left me with a very poor impression of their customer relation attitude which will give me pause to consider carefully if I wish to use this company in future which is a shame as I find the quality, variety and price good.

Just had a bit shopping to get some of the products.
It's actually not that bad, bit overpriced and delivery cost are quite high. So I am not sure I will buy again for this reason. The price of 100g Teawurst is a bit overpriced in German direct you pay an apple price for it. Or adjust the amount.
I really missed vanillazucker, I do it myself but is just not the same. For baking is just so much more tasty if you add that.
I definitely will try to ask my family in Germany how much it will be to send some stuff.
But overall it was easy to order and I didn't had any problems. So it was quick.
It would be great that they get full fat quark.

Feel ripped off

Feel ripped off. We buy our Oblaten wafers from the German Deli every year. This year the price went up (as every year), but when they arrived I was shocked to find that they had halved in size!! When I complained I was told the image and weight had changed on the website, which is true, but there was no warning about such a huge change in volume. No support was offered. Not a great service. Cheaper to get family to post them to us, so won't use again.

Box arrived broken

Outer Box arrived open , one of 2 mustard broke and resulting in having mustard everywhere. But every item inside was separatetly wrapped or boxed. 30% of my 2kg asparagus were uneatable ( hard like wood) due to
been 2 long in transport,the same for the Bread ! I paid £80 + £10 delivery . What a shame

Great for international treats!

This company is a life saver! My mum is super hard to get gifts for when it comes to holidays and her b-day, but she has a favorite candy that you can only get abroad, and the prices they offer for it is more than reasonable compared to other places like Amazon, saved me more than £10 for even more product! I'm definitely going to be buying from them in the near future for her birthday! (Though I'm not going to tell her where I got them from, so she has to rely on me for her supply lol)

Pleased

OK quality products. Quick helpful customer service when I contacted them to ask about products. Delivered on the scheduled date (despite most delivery services being chaos at the moment). Very pleased with the service, had hope for a little better on the quality side.
