I was really looking forward to this order because I purchased some childhood staples that have a particular sentimental importance to me. This was an unusual and quite rare purchase for me, and I was happy to pay the €13 delivery charge given that it was a long-distance delivery and one of the items required refrigeration.

Unfortunately, one of the products I ordered was not included in the package, even though I had ordered and paid for two of them. After contacting customer service and following up, I was eventually told that the item had never been in stock and that I would receive a refund.

While I understand that stock issues can happen, what I found disappointing was that I was not informed about this proactively. Had I not contacted the store myself, I am not sure when I would have been told or whether the money would have been refunded.

I then sent several follow-up emails asking whether, as a gesture of goodwill, they could offer free delivery or a small voucher so that I could place another order and purchase the item once it was back in stock. What I found particularly frustrating was that I received no response at all to these requests. I would have been perfectly willing to accept a polite “no,” but simply being ignored after taking the time to contact customer service several times was disappointing.

Overall, the product selection was meaningful to me and I was genuinely happy to support the store, but the customer-service experience left a bad impression. The lack of proactive communication about the missing, paid-for item and, especially, the complete lack of response to my subsequent messages are the reasons I can only give 2 stars.

Ordered snack items for a birthday party based on the delivery window displayed during check-out. Order confirmation had a later delivery window. Email with cancellation request was not responded to. As of right now, order status is still not shipped so even the revised delivery will not be met. Only PayPal is accepted and forget about disputing a transaction with PayPal (which is probably why they use it). If you order from Germanfoods.shop, you will not get what you ordered in a timely manner if at all.

Ordered £125 of items, including £75 of maultaschen, as a present. Order shipped a week later than their own delivery estimate, missing the birthday, and without the maultaschen. No response to multiple emails querying this, no refund for goods not sent.

Wish I'd read reviews before ordering.

GermanFoods.shop’s paperwork problems delayed my shipment until the food spoiled. The refrigerated products arrived warm, other items were expired, and they have ignored every email about a refund.

Buyer beware.

Got my order and items were damaged and melted, tried to contact them right away and they haven't even responded in the last several days.

I ordered Schleckmuscheln, herb vinegar, and Gyros seasoning from this online store. Unfortunately, when the package arrived, the box was damaged. While the Schleckmuscheln and herb vinegar were included, the Gyros seasoning was missing.

I immediately contacted customer service by email and attached photos of the damaged package and its contents. After receiving no response for several weeks, I sent a second email, which was also ignored.

I then tried to contact customer service by phone in Germany. Every time I called, I reached an automated message stating that I was calling outside of business hours. To make sure I was calling at the correct time, I even got up very early in the U.S. and called during what should have been regular business hours in Germany (around 2:00 PM German time). I received the same automated message every time, regardless of when I called.

Based on my experience, customer service appears to be virtually nonexistent. Missing items, damaged shipments, unanswered emails, and an unreachable phone line are simply unacceptable. I will not order from this company again and cannot recommend it to others.

Very bad service didn’t get my order they don’t respond this is a scam

Cant get into website. Have to move some piece onto something marked,to show you are human. Just circles going round,nothing marked,so you keep failing. Cant get an e mail address ,cause of this,to ask them how to get into the website.

After making a thread online and asking Germans what their favorite snack foods were, I was pleased to be able to find just about every one of them at GermanFoods! I read the reviews and I was worried about shipping time, but within 6 days my order was processed and shipped out. It took only another 6-7 days to get from Germany to the USA. The quality of the snacks was actually good. Nothing expired and wow those German chocolates are something else!!! Mmm. Anyway, just had to make this review because people were complaining about shipping and wanted to share my positive experience. Highly recommend the Kinder Schoko Bons if you like chocolate and the funny-frish Kruspers Honey & Mustard Style pretzels if you want something salty and savory!

Ordered $1000 worth of items . Packages got held up by DHL. Been trying to get a hold of customer service since last year and nothing. Only the shipper can open a dispute with DHL. I am so frustrated and mad. This is not how you do business with people.

I ordered my Harry's Broetchen last Friday. I went to make an order using Paypal and the website said it could not process the order. I tried again using Paypal and got the same error. So I tried one more time using direct credit card payment and the order went through. Then I got emails from Paypal saying that the first two orders were processed. I sent an email to Germanfoods customer service that night asking them to cancel 2 of the orders and NEVER got a response. So, I followed up Monday with another email and again got no response. And today I get notice that all 3 shipments are being shipped. So now I have to try and find room in the freezer for 12 6 packs of broetchen! Not to ,mention paying for 3 separate shipping charges!

The only thing that have an issue with, is no tracking number.

I placed an order on October 18th, 2025, as of November 11th, 2025, I still did not get my shipment. I wrote 3 emails to the customer service and did not get any answer as of yet. Terrible service, I will have to do a chargeback to get my money back.

Time from the order to shipping was more than a month. No notification. After the shipping was initiated it took another week until the shipper received the order.

Ich bin sehr enttäuscht über meine jetzige Bestellung. Ich habe vor fast drei Wochen eine Bestellung aufgegeben und bezahlt. ( Inclusive der neuen Zölle die aufgeschlagen wurden) Danach auch auf mehrere Nachfragen von mir absolut keine Antwort über meine Bestellung bekommen. Das ist sehr ärgerlich und schade.

My mother's favourite chocolates are German and hard to find in the UK without paying extortionate prices. Took a chance on this website as I saw a box for a reasonable price (Inc shipping), ordered on the 10th and they arrived today. Very happy with my purchase.

Don’t always listen to reviews I took the chance after seeing the reviews I was a bit skeptical about it but the order came within 7days they kept me updated a lot and it was shipped very quickly This is a great brand, there items are great too go ahead and order! Absolutely brilliant. As soon as I placed the order got a reply confirming the order. Within two to three days the order was dispatched and I was given my tracking number which was perfect. The items that I have ordered have got long expiry dates which is perfect. I will be ordering regularly from you guys from now on. I am a German living in UK and I was missing all these beautiful chocolates and groceries. your prices are good to please keep the hanuta and brandt swieback at these lower priced discount as the price for hanuta is okey currently discounted, but if the discounts goes then that price will be too much, please keep the hanuta at £3.54 please if you can make it cheaper that would be wonderful as i buy in bulk thank you so much for your service
