I have the paid version and I am so glad that I found this product. You can block pretty much any thing on it and you can even use a time delay option to unlock the blocker. I usually have the unlock time delay at about a 1-3 hour wait.

I have long been finding some app or software which could block all adult content without exclusion and I finally found that- cold turkey blocker. I am actually porn addicted and was finding such a software which could block all such contents permanently ( many years=permanent ). The thing I liked the most, about the software is that I could block all what I needed in absolutely free of cost which I found nowhere before. I salute the team of this beautiful blocker. I hope, you will continue to keep its free version unchanged so that more people especially younger one like me who are struggling with compulsive use of harmful digital contents can find a way to live a happy productive life again. thank you.

O essencial está lá gratuitamente, e isso é ótimo!
Permite também ir adicionando sites há medidas que vamos encontrando sem a necessidade de desbloquear configurações s de bloqueios por meio da extensão.
Não dou 5 estrelas pois tem vezes que tem bugs de browsers que não estão no Computador e fica pedindo para instalar a extensão e infelizmente não têm para Android nem iOS!

This app has great blocking and support. It's the best I have found on MacOS for strict blocking and preventing workarounds. I love the variant options for breaks and such as well.

Excellent app for Windows. I've had it for around three years now and it works perfectly as I wanted in a time-saving blocking app. The dev responds via email pretty quickly and addresses your feedback. Nothing that really dissatisfies me about it!

Perfect for people who just can't stop accessing sites that destroys their productivity and well being. Cold turkey is so cold, that even the free version is enough to lock you out of the sites you don't want to access on impulse. Even in private browning modes. It will make sure you will never set eyes on the site again. Highly useful and recommended. Worth going premium.

The Cold Turkey app blocker simply doesn’t work reliably on a Mac: websites are often blocked only with a delay, and in many cases not at all. The blocking can easily be circumvented. The reasons for this are well known – macOS does not grant third-party providers deep system rights. Unfortunately, the developer is not transparent about this, and the shortcomings usually only become apparent after purchase. Then the search for an effective blocker starts all over again. Very frustrating!

I bought cold Turkey couple of years ago. I gained some new features. But the problem is with reliability. I often get crushes of app or it just block me even when I didn't use my PC at ALL! I have multiple windows accounts (work + relax + other people), new features like rewards seems to be working only for each account, so I can only takes breaks on my working account 😅. Recently update introduced error with Edge Browser when I get a pop-up to install extension even when I don't use that browser and I already added ct extension! Now I allowed myself to open relax account 2 times per day (renew set on 02:00 at night). But now I have 0 sessions left despite fact that I didn't log in on relax account at all!

I paid to purchase a license, but it has stopped working for me since it started requiring Cold Turkey chrome extension to be installed.

It blocks websites which you put on a blocking list. The nice thing is, that it's possible to put a timer, that it blocks the website for a certain amount of time. After that the block is lifted.
In order for it to work an extension needs to be installed in all browser. This works fine for Firefox, only for Chrome (which I need to use for work), there sometimes is an update and it doesn't work anymore. Which means Chrome is shut down after 30 seconds. That's annoying. Fortunately after an e-mail to owner, he sent a working instruction to fix it.

Absolute dog shit software. Blocked me from accessing my browser even though I had the extension installed.

Absolutely failed to work on my computer. Put me in an endless loop of installing addons to my web browser and failing to verify that the addons were installed. Completely locked me out from using browsers entirely and was a huge pain to try to uninstall. I understand the idea is to prevent you from easily clicking a button to turn off a block, but the app shouldn't have locked me out from using the internet entirely when all I wanted was to block a single website. I painstakingly tried to follow the tedious instructions for enabling full access in every possible settings menu for all computers as well as full disc access to my machine, but it still kept acting like the browsers didn't have the extensions installed. Honestly, these verifications should have been made BEFORE locking me out entirely. Felt like I downloaded a virus, not a helpful tool to prevent distractions.

This app is the primary reason I can get anything done. I've got major issues with dopamine addiction and struggle to stop playing games or watching videos once I start.

Whenever I have encountered an issue or had a suggestion, the developer has promptly responded to my submissions through the contact form, even once on a holiday weekend. I have never had to wait more than a day for a response. Late last night, I submitted a request for my license key, as I no longer have access to my old email. First thing this morning, I found the keys in my inbox.

I used the free version for ten years, and it was incredibly effective. I purchased the pro version mainly to express my gratitude, not realizing how many amazing benefits would come with the upgrade. I’m amazed at how little he charges for a lifetime license! There are so many flexible ways to control and schedule tasks and breaks.

My only complaint is that there isn’t an iOS version, as I’ve yet to find a mobile app that is half as good as CTB. However, I understand that as a solo developer, it's not feasible to support a mobile app. A girl can dream, though.

I wholeheartedly recommend CTB if you need help focusing or want to gain control over a habit.

Genuinely one of the best apps/website blockers I've ever used. Granted, I do understand people saying how deeply it integrates into the system and etc (and although I do hear their concerns it wouldn't be able to have all it's feature and properly function as the "toughest app blockers" otherwise. I also love the pricing. A one time purchase without a monthly subscription fee is great.

It's really hard to find a blocking app on windows. On my mac, I have used a different app for years, and decided not to change that. I was looking for a good windows equivalent for years. But NOTHING worked well for me.

Then I found cold turkey.

They have two things going for them:

First, the app is great. It just works.

Second, the support is really good. I would argue that an app with good support is more important. The founder knows what he is doing and you can tell he is passionate about the product.

Strong applicaton, to give you a digital detox. Good customer service as well.

They provide a good piece of software at a good price. I have installed Cold Turkey on three computers, and it stops me from distractions. If you want to have a go at being more productive, or stopping pernicious content, I recommend Cold Turkey.

WARNING!
This software deeply integrates into the operating system, making it very difficult to uninstall! Cold Turkey kept crashing my browser and wouldn’t install properly!

Solution:

Uninstall with Revo Uninstaller
Perform a system restore
I repeat! Do not install this software if you value your data!

The company is great! Costomer service is really quite good and dispite there only being one person, you usually get a response the next day.

I think this depends on if you buy it or not.
Overall, I think this is a great investment—its 50 dollars but it gives you access forever and for most devices—You will never have to buy anything else again!

Also, even for someone like me who has adhd its nearly impossible to break it!
