Been using this app for over 10 years.

Owner could have easily made this a subscription but instead made it a cheap one time purchase.

Most of the negative reviews are people who doesn't know how to use the app albeit it is a little confusing and there is a slight learning curve.

It does work although there are workarounds. A tip of advice is to never look for these workarounds or the app might never "work" for you again.

I’ve been using Cold Turkey for a few weeks now, and it’s hands-down the best decision I’ve made to boost my productivity. It has also gone a long way in supporting a more harmonious home life.

There are many options and features to explore, and it took some time to configure everything to suit my needs. However, the ability to customise which sites to block and when has been incredibly useful.

The customer support throughout my purchase and setup process has been exceptional. I’ve received prompt, friendly, and helpful responses to every question I had, which made getting started much easier than I expected.

I can’t recommend this product enough. It’s a game-changer!

Since installing Cold Turkey, my MacBook hasn’t been working properly. Simple programs can take up to 10 minutes to open, making my computer nearly unusable. As I can’t uninstall the program, I’ve been unable to use my Mac for over a week. Unfortunately, the support team has not responded to my inquiries.

I am very disappointed with the lack of support and would not recommend this software.

It blocks website/apps for real. And there is no way around. Even when Im lazy or not disciplined enough. Thats why I needed this!

missing stuff:
- App for ipadOS and iOS, even when it has limited functionality
- updated design, looks a little dated

I understand your anger a little bit. Spiking up the price is not very nice. But 35 Dollar for a lifetime plan is a very good value. Also you get all the upcoming updates for free. Look at the software "Opal" and then tell me again that this program is expensive...

If you would take a little bit of time, then you know, that you can disable the possibility to skip blocks. Your rating just said more about you and less about the program itself...

I had screen time set up in my iphone, and was looking for something similar to set up on my windows laptop.

I already had a list of banned websites that I imported into the app. Compared to the other free packages out there, this one works quite well. The set up is a bit confusing, but the instructions are slick & easy to follow once you get your head around it. Also, you can add an unlimited amount of websites with the free option so that was a big plus for me.

After a week or so, I paid £29 for the option to add a password (which only my sister has access to). I think it is worth is compared to the other prices out there and it's a lifetime investment. I can't wait to take control of my life and be productive :)

Pretty sure it will take days for them to respond. Life is valuable. Don't waste your energy on these people..

Saved me hours of scrolling
When the habit kicks in to ctrl+T open a new tab, starting type a social media url, hit enter... And before your conscious mind even takes over, "blocked by cold turkey" stops the toxic habit and gives you the opportunity to take back control. Love it!!

Even tough ,he is a solo developer,he is really passionate with this project,its the only blocker that helps me step by step to destroy my addiction.The price is fair,because you pay once not like freedom,Appblock etc.And its the most foolproof Blocker compared to the other ones i used in the past.The developer really tries to help ,i hope this project grows!!!

This is the only thing that finally made me start writing and stop procrastinating and getting distracted all the time on reddit and twitter. I don't use the common website blocker, but the writer one that won't let you get out of the program unless you write certain amount of words, or for some minutes. Will pay for the 9$ pro version as soon as I can.

I am really really happy and delighted by the app services that cold turkey provided , all adult and unwanted websites bloked and when i tried to uninstall to check whether the pro version working correctly or not , I am again delighted that it ask for admit approval for deletion( uninstalling), I really want that kind of software in my life right now to maintain my focus and energy.

one thing for sure , I am really happy with support team and all company effort, I will definitely refer this to all my indian freinds and family members.

Cold Turkey is great at blocking, nothing out there comes close. Have used for a couple years now. The developer posts regular updates and there is so much customisation with it. The one time purchase model is awesome and it has saved me big time with self control. I also use Safe Surfer for content filtering - using these two side by side I have the perfect controlled device. Thanks Cold Turkey

useless. has an unblock tab that shows up where you could click and it will unblock your "blocked" websites any time.

The Cold Turkey Blocker is almost perfect. It blocks only the things I specify on a schedule so my kids can still do their online school. It blocks everything on my schedule so I can make sure they get some sleep. My only complaint is I can't block or unblock things on my kid's computers remotely from my computer or my phone. This feature would make Cold Turkey the holy grail of parental control applications.
The other thing to note is Could Turkey does not filter content. That's up to you.

when u block sth with ct and set a timer, there is NO way to get around it(exept u are a hacker or whatever). it works for every browser and saved me hundreds of hours. the free version is perfect for blocking websites. when u want to block apps then you need the paid version(35$, one time pay). i am so greatful to these guys, toughest blocker out there(believe me i tried so much blockers cant even count and i could go around all of them). it helped me get rid of youtube addiction, porn and video games best investment of my life

btw: the bug that many people talk about that ct shuts your browser down is not a bug: it occurs when you dont install the browser extension to the browser (else you could just switch to another browser)

Overall, I love the app and it really does the job but there's a bug where it shuts your browser down often (regardless of whatever website you're on) and it drives me absolutely nuts. I'll be in the middle of work emails and it'll just completely shut down for no reason. It happens ALL THE TIME and the only way to get rid of it is if you uninstall Cold Turkey completely. I saw a lot of other people mentioning this on other forums and websites so surprised not many people are bringing that up here...

This is 100% the best blocker out there. Prevents you from bypassing the block, and gained me many hours of time. This genuinely changed my life. This is also one the the very few one time purchase blockers, and this will save you a lot of money compared to other subscription based blockers. You won't regret getting this!
