Poor customer service and possibly operational issues

Update:

The finally did contact me and provid more details about the situation. I did appreciate that they are trying their best to reverse my poor experience. So I will give them credit for that. I bumped up my review to 3 stars for their quick response after posting a review on Trupilot and trying to provide discount code and put me back on their email list to be able to make purchases (still confused about why my transaction was declined so many times. Perhaps I was excluded from their system to make purchases??)

I did removed my original review stating that they had operational issues since they did say in their email that they don’t have that issue.

Thanks for your reply. I was saddened to see your Trustpilot review and reply as my email was not generic. We're a small team here but I do my best to give each customer as many details regarding their inquiry as possible. I repeated my response to you back in February because having not heard back, I wasn't sure if you had received my initial email about the cancellation. In hindsight I realize this came off as unhelpful and I am very sorry.

I am also sincerely sorry that our payment processor does not share details of the orders being declined. From my understanding, this is for your security as a consumer. These decisions are based on several factors including your personal buying history and billing details that are not made available to us.

Our website is fully operational, and we're not having widespread issues with other transactions, however our payment processor does decline a standard number of orders for various security reasons.

I hate to write bad reviews about a company that’s started by a small business owner. Their customer support is very poor. Like the reviewer below, I first got interested in Glow Recipe and placed an order during the Black Friday sale. Well the order took almost 2 months to arrive which was fine bc it wasn’t a holiday or birthday present for anybody. Then I tried to place an order again this Feb & their payment processor kept declining my charges and the order wouldn’t go through. They must had know this problem and came up with a “generic” message that they sent to their customers stating that they don’t know why their payment processor declined my payment and advised me to contact my credit card company. Then I called my credit card company and was told that it’s the merchant’s payment system’s issue and not my credit card.

I do love their products despite all the unnecessary additives, fragrances and colors. They are probably not that effective vs other products like the skin ceutucals.

However, with so many poor customer service experiences, I decided to look for other brands instead. Instead of continuing to support them by buying the products in Sephora.

I recently faced a highly disappointing situation with Glow Recipe, which has prompted me to share my experience in a TrustPilot review and file a complaint with the BBB. I placed an order (number 676043) on November 23, 2023, with an expected delivery date of November 30, 2023. However, the delivery was significantly delayed, only arriving on December 23, 2023, after I initiated contact with customer support on December 13 due to the lack of updates.

This order was particularly important to me as it was intended as a birthday gift for my niece. Unfortunately, the delay caused me to miss her birthday, compelling me to find an alternative gift at the last minute. The situation was made even more frustrating when I attempted to return the unopened package. Initially, Glow Recipe's customer support indicated a willingness to assist with the return. Yet, after confirming that they had received the package, they reversed their stance, claiming my order was not eligible for return. This was contrary to the information available at the time of purchase, which stated that only certain limited edition items were non-returnable, and none of those were part of my order.

This apparent bait-and-switch tactic not only inconvenienced me but also suggested a significant policy discrepancy. My dispute was denied, and the package was returned to me, leaving me with unwanted items and unresolved grievances. It's perplexing why the return policy was not clearly communicated from the outset, leading me to question the transparency and customer service commitment of Glow Recipe.

The company's prioritization of influencers, evident in their liberal distribution of free products to social media personalities, starkly contrasts with their rigid stance towards a genuine customer facing legitimate issues. Offering a minimal discount for future purchases does little to resolve the current situation and fails to acknowledge the inconvenience and disappointment caused.

This experience has significantly impacted my view of Glow Recipe, revealing a concerning approach to customer service and policy transparency. In sharing this experience, I hope to highlight the need for Glow Recipe to reconsider their policies and practices to ensure they truly reflect the values of fairness, transparency, and respect for all customers. Given the circumstances, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to return the products for a refund, as this would not only resolve my current predicament but also demonstrate Glow Recipe's commitment to customer satisfaction and service recovery.

Hi MW, Unfortunately, we were unable to assist in this transaction, as the $500 order was confirmed to have been delivered and we did not receive the filled out the nondelivery claim form when requested. Later, we unfortunately declined a return request for the $500 order, over a month after the delivery, because a chargeback had been filed against us and we no longer had access to the funds, although all of the items had been confirmed to have been received by yourself. Thanks for your understanding.

I love this stuff

I love this stuff. I’ve tried a number of their products now, it’s a bit on the pricey side but it smells great, the bottles are so cute, and leaves your skin feeling so soft. It lasts a long time too so it makes it worth the price in my opinion.

Excellent customer service, thank you.

Having ordered two skincare products from the site for my granddaughter I realised these were not suitable for her age. Glow review were very prompt in responding and making helpful suggestions about age-appropriate products. Summer has been proactive in addressing the problem. I would recommend parents check the website for product advice.

Love the skincare and the lovely and helpful folks. The website can be a little glitchy when it comes to adding samples and redeeming your rewards points but I find the representatives easy to work with and they always respond quickly.

So I ordered a lot of items on this site, because I told myself that it was safe as it is the official site. But beware! I never received my order EVER, I tried to contact customer service through direct chat, but they asked me to write an email. I sent an email explaining my situation. I NEVER heard back. Guess what ? I literally got scammed! 0 customer service. It's literally illegal. I called the post office who told me to check everywhere to see if I could find the package, but it is nowhere! They confirmed to me that Glow Recipe is responsible. I am shocked, if I don't get an answer I will have to open a legal complaint. I still hope for a response. order #737571

Every product I have ever tried from…

Every product I have ever tried from Glow Recipe is AMAZING! I am 45ish, and the under eye patches are the absolute best I have ever used, they work immediately, bringing a dewy glow to my upper cheek and eye area, I love them so much I even tried them on my forehead right between my eyes and THEY ERASED MY "Mad" wrinkles between my eyes! You cannot go wrong with this product. My skin is not too sensitive, so I am saying this as a person who can use just about anything. But moisture is where is at with these little beauties. LOVE THEM!!

Don't buy here. They don't reply back to mails. Spend your money somewhere else!! Actually they wrote me after this review on Trustpilot. They told me they would help me cancel the order, after that they have been silent again. Nothing! No help!

Update after there latest reply -. I started really polite but you lied to me about helping to cancel the parcel, and then just ignored me afterwards. You really have to work on your customer service. It dont exist. You should have 0 stars and not 1!

This is from your own mail to me.. But it was all a lie.

Glow recipe fruit babies

I got their fruit babies set recently and loved all the products especially their avocado cleanser. It didn’t strip my skin like most other cleansers do. Their watermelon toner also hydrates my skin so much and has helped with dark spots on my forehead.

I made an order start of feb, haven’t received order still, no reply to
Multiple emails to contact to see what’s up, I contacted the postal service and they say any enquiry has to come from glow recipe. A joke, spent a damn lot of money to get nothing.

I received a order but was not mine

I received a order but was not mine. The package was in my name but the invoice was is someone else’s name. Reached out via email to customer service. They spoke to me on the 23rd of February and haven’t heard anything since. Very unhappy! I spent a lot of money to receive the wrong products!

I am moving my review up to a 4. As I love the products! They have corrected everything!

Good products yet deceiving/confusing advertisement…

UPDATE 2: Credit when credit is due. The brand's representative took the time to look further into the issue and explain what happened--not only that, they did add a better disclaimer in the new sales' banner, which makes things much clearer. Hence, I'm updating my review to full five stars because it does show that, at least in my experience, the brand cared about the customer's concerns. So kudos for that as not all brands will follow through in the way they did.

Revised review:
Good products yet confusing advertisement when it comes to sales. By the time I tried to make my purchase and checkout, there was no clear signs on the website that sets and kits are not included in the sale. The main banner has an asterisk but no further disclaimers are found, except in the checkout where the disclaimer only says that the code will be applied at the end.

In addition, the discount showed is confusing. It looks like a lot was taken off to influence/encourage the consumer, but in reality it just creates confusion. For instance, the large discount will seemingly be based on the prices from the freebies the brand is supposedly giving the customer. I rather not have a brand do that and just indicate what is *really* discounted.

Great products, great company!

I have only had great experiences with this company. Had a package lost twice, and they rectified the situation. It took a bit, but I understand why. They clearly need to take all steps before just sending more products all willy nilly, I got what was promised and am a loyal customer because of their treatment. I was sent the wrong product on another occasion and they shipped me out a replacement immediately. If you think I consistently have issues, that is not the case. I’ve been a loyal customer for years now, accidents happen all the time and mostly not the companies fault.

No update on my parcel since 1st Aug, customer service not replying

They sent the package with insufficient customs information, which required the package to be pack again to the sender to fix it. I contacted DHL and they told me the sender need to fix this issue. I tried to contact them multiple times and no reply at all. Now I don't know where is my parcel.. I 've placed my order on 21st of July

Really disappointed since this is first time order
from them.

Passive Aggressive Customer Service

They’re are many companies out there that appreciate business. When inquiring about the false advertising about a scoop that should come with the watermelon sleep mask product; I received a very generic message about “going green and eliminating packaging” implying “oh well sorry not sorry”. This was a obvious lie so i left a one star review with photos of their packaging from last year and this year 2022 to show there was NO change in packaging. To which their usual response (based on other bad reviews i’ve seen) was to discredit the consumer and passive aggressively gaslight them. They replied to the review with a “we apologize you’re upset about scoop” even though my review was clearly about the customer service and fabrication of excuses to offer nothing to rectify the situation.
I then get another email where they want to send me something else from a sister company completely free so i’d have a scoop. While I’m sure there are people out there who are just looking for a free item. I was looking for little insight on why i never got it twice, once in 2021 and once in 2022. Meaning the company, even if they are eliminating packaging, has taken no steps to communicate this with the consumer. So why has it taken over a year and is still advertised on their site? I do not care for FREE items.. i care about compassion and respect. Something I as an asian woman am sure their founders understand. Unfortunately their service department has very manipulative, sarcastic and gaslighting tactics.
I responded with a no thank you. And left my comments on the attitude of their department; as well as asked to not be contacted ever again.
Not even 24hrs later they must be true to themselves and disrespect a consumers request and boundaries by getting their last two cents in with a “sorry you feel that way.”
This review is for the people who care about a companies actions and holding them accountable. As well as ones do not wish to support terrible business behavior. So many other products in the world to be a newish company with this type of staffing and business practices.

Edit: They have again responded and again think i’m upset about a scoop and not the customer service provided. Telling me what i’m dissatisfied with over and over = gaslighting. Also have flagged the review.. beware of companies that silence your reviews.
As well as is missing the point. The first email offered NO retribution.. only after my review was i offered anything.
