I had a seriously disappointing experience with GoGet.
They emailed me saying I’d received a parking fine and that it would be re-nominated into my name. Two weeks later, I get another email saying they’re going to debit my account to pay the fine themselves.
When I called, I asked them to show me where in their terms and conditions they’re allowed to take money from my account for a fine that’s still under their name. They couldn’t. Instead, they told me to call the council — which makes no sense when the fine hasn’t even been transferred to me.
It’s clear they didn’t bother nominating the infringement properly. Rather than doing their job, they tried to take the easy route and charge me directly.
Then it gets worse.
Out of nowhere, I noticed a $49 charge from them. Turns out they had reactivated an old monthly membership — one I cancelled over a year ago. There had been no charges since cancellation, until this issue with the fine came up.
When I raised it, they claimed it was an “automatic renewal.” That doesn’t stack up — you can’t renew something that’s been inactive for over 12 months without notice.
I asked for a refund. Instead of resolving it properly, they went ahead and cancelled my account altogether without telling me.
At that point, it was obvious — I’d just been thrown into the “too hard” basket.
For the prices they charge, the level of service is unacceptable. Basic customer support shouldn’t be this difficult.
I’ve since moved on to alternatives like Flexicar and Popcar, which have been far more reliable.
Avoid GoGet — not worth the hassle.
FYI: Update 27/04/2026, the above response from Go Get is a PR stunt. I have sent 8 emails and left 3 messages with customer service to escalate my issue and to date I have had ZERO response.....so the original post stands. Zero Accountability. Go Get can Go Get F@$%

The process of getting a goget was designed in a user friendly manner. But there are some things that make a first time user a bit anxious. For example, if you can think about something to release the customer from the burden of inspecting the car carefully before and after use, or maybe show the fuel level to someone who is in the process of booking, it would be awesome.

Generally pretty good up until now, however they've now put my usual "day" booking rate for a Diesel Toyota HiAce up from $149 to $154 and have also reduced the amount of included kilometres free of charge from 100klm to 80 klms. In response to the war and all, yes, I understand, however I now have to put my rates up for my customers. They won't be happy with that. Thanks Goget!

Very poor experience with GoGet.
At the end of my booking, the designated parking bay was occupied. I contacted customer service and was instructed to park elsewhere and email photos of the occupied spot and the vehicle’s location, which I did. I was assured the issue would be handled.
No action was taken, and I later received a parking fine because the car was not moved. I had moved interstate shortly after, and about a year later received an additional penalty notice related to the same incident.
GoGet acknowledged the issue was due to their inaction and promised resolution within a week. Despite repeated follow-ups over 3+ months and multiple submissions of the same documents, nothing was resolved.
I was ultimately forced to pay the fine to avoid further penalties.
This reflects a failure to provide services with due care and within a reasonable time under the Australian Consumer Law.

Absolutely beyond TERRIBLE company and this is coming from someone who has never written a trustpilot review before. Made an account with them and upon picking up the car we saw broken glass all over the front compartment and the passenger side seatbelt mechanism was broken so the passenger could not get out of the car without sliding out of the seatbelt. We called to fix the issue (obviously don’t want to drive with a broken seatbelt) and were given a replacement car over the phone, all was well. On the way to the replacement car we got notice that the account was PERMANENTLY cancelled. After calling help again, they told us nothing could be done and they could not tell us any more details. Absolute scam company with horrendous cars that will cancel your account if you have any legitimate problems instead of helping you!

Car placement was convenient. The car itself was a little dirtier on the inside. Took pics inside and video around outside as the car had some scrapes and bangs.
Did what I needed to do with the car. Probably a little more expensive than I thought with tolls and per km charges.
I would use again though

The car was great.
Everything about this company is wrong and bad. I am still so angry that I don't know where to start. Everything that a company could do poorly, they did; and it seems like normal behaviour for them. Take precautions to protect yourself while using this service.

Fuel cards no longer being in cars is a change for the worse. This is compounded by poor app and support experiences.
- Rent vehicle
- Less that 1/4 full
- Go to refuel
- Find I have to pay with my own card (not insignificant for a big van)
Later, go to submit reimbursement and it defaults to a 'credit' on the account. Not very useful.
Try to use the app to change this to a refund. App is buggy, hard to use with keyboard showing up on top of the app at the wrong times. Ultimately get errors trying to change this in-app.
Talk to chatbot, not helpful, eventually request 'Human'. Chatbot says 'connecting you now', leaves the chat and nothing happens. After about 15 minutes I get 'chat ended'. Repeat x3
Following day chat transfer works, but I'm told I have to call instead. Ok, call, on hold, eventually get through. They cancel the previous request for me and tell me to submit a new one. Surprise surprise, this also can't be done during the app so they give an email address to contact instead. Let's see if I ever get this money back...
In short, be prepared to do a couple of hours of admin on top of your mediocre booking experience.

Been using since 2015 and overall very happy.
Yes, sometimes people park in allocated spaces or the cars are unclean, but you just report the issues and the customer service team deals with it. This is a car SHARING company, you leave the cars clean and generally other people will too.
Way, way, cheaper than owning a car and a lot more convenient (no taking it to be serviced, fuel included etc).
For longer trips (200km+ / 3+ days), I'd recommend a regular rental. But GoGet is way better for short trips.

Customer Service is extremely poor.
Every time I have had to use the customer service for different requests I have been disappointed with - responsiveness and ability to resolve issues.
Customer support through the chat functionality is non existent.
Most recent experience left me with a parting ticket due to the cars pod being parked in buy a privately owned car. The event was flagged with GoGet. But due to lack of organisation and good customer service I have been left with the ticket and a processing fee passed on by GoGet with no resolution provided by them.
One piece of advice - use flexicar.

Went through the joining up process only to find I was declined due to being non-resident (the site lets you select an overseas contact No.)
Called in and was promised a call back that never came - only an email saying
“Thank you for your application to join GoGet.
Unfortunately at this time, your application has been rejected”

My experience with GoGet was extremely disappointing.
Before you can even view pricing or vehicle availability, GoGet requires you to complete a full registration process and provide sensitive personal identification. After doing so, my application was declined without any explanation, and the only option provided was to submit another application.
I contacted their customer service line hoping someone could clarify the issue or advise what had gone wrong. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide any assistance beyond suggesting I apply again.
Collecting sensitive identification information while providing no transparency, no explanation for rejection, and no meaningful support raises serious concerns about the process. I will be raising this experience with the ACCC.

Pros: Cars are okay and of course it's convenient to have them nearby.
Cons: If you're a minute late returning, you effectively have to pay for an additional two hours, even if no one is booked after you. Many cars damaged, bumpers falling off, interiors dirty, etc. They have no internal process for handling complaints. Someone has repeatedly caused issues for local users and they their customer service has taken zero action over the past few months of this reoccurring issue. Their new app absolutely sucks, enough said.

Very disappointing experience.
I rented a van for one hour and the process was unnecessarily complicated from start to finish. The previous driver returned the vehicle before my booking, left it with an empty tank, and was extremely rude when I approached her about it.
The van had numerous existing damages that needed to be reported. I was required to call a number to log them and review a handwritten damage sheet that was very difficult to understand. For a short one-hour booking, this was excessive and time-consuming.
I was also expected to refill the petrol myself. The company provides a fuel card, but it can only be used at Caltex or BP, and there were no nearby stations from those brands. Being on an empty tank made the situation even more stressful.
The system places the burden on the next customer to resolve issues created by the previous one. From pick-up to return, the experience was poorly managed. I will not be using this service again.

The mobile app was pretty easy to use and had all the information that I needed.
I was able to locate the car and tap on (unlock) without any issues. Car was neat and tidy inside and the key was exactly where it needed to be.
Finishing the journey was also a breeze. Just parked it back in the allocated bar and tap off to re-lock. Overall the convenience and price trumps Uber or any other ride share. Would use it again for sure.

Living in inner west Sydney I no longer need to own a car. Public transport and my motorcycle get me around easily. When I need a car (social, shopping, hauling stuff around, etc) GoGet is the solution. I can use a cheapie, or something classy for a date, or even a van. Yes, it is more expensive on a "per use" basis. But I don't have the cost of a car sitting being unused almost all the time. I also don't have to clean, service, maintain, or house it. I rent my apartment car space which effectively reduces the cost of GoGet use. It's a great solution.
Remember that GoGet is for short rental. For long trips it is very uneconomical because of the charge per kilometre. Most traditional rental companies have unlimited distance options. So for country trips I do the traditional car rental thing. Traditional car rental and GoGet are different services for different purposes. So for day-to-day needs go get a GoGet.

First time hiring a car in Australia and it was not great.
I never received any email explaining how to access the key, no guidebook, nothing. Eventually, after digging and digging, I discovered I had to pick up a smartcard near where the car was parked.
I picked up the car and everything seemed fine initially. However, halfway into my journey the car started making a freakish alarm noise that would not turn off.
We eventually figured out the alarm was because there was an issue with the smartcard and it had become “invalid,” so it was like a very loud alarm going off on the highway - not great and honestly quite stressful.
I also found the aircon was leaking and the front passenger footwell was completely wet and stinky.
I arrived at my destination but decided to come straight back because the car was just not right.
Customer service was also terrible.
Would avoid.
