Poor very very slow service
Poor very very slow service. Wouldn’t recommend at all! Food was not worth the wait. Over an hour wait.

The Manor hotel (26 Hendford, Yeovil BA20 1TG ) Very disappointing experience. We checked into Room 33(attic floor) 2m height only, in 11.07.2026 around midnight with our two-year-old child, but the room was unbearably hot, poorly ventilated, and impossible to sleep in. Our child became very distressed, and I started feeling unwell, so we had to leave after only two hours and find another hotel in the middle of the night.
We informed the night receptionist, who told us to contact customer service. When we returned in the morning to request a refund, the staff member was unhelpful and later ended the phone call abruptly. Very poor customer service and an old, poorly maintained hotel. We have requested a full refund and expect the hotel to take responsibility.
Cannot reach anyone, please contact me asap.

A disappointing experience
My dad and I visited the Fieldhead Hotel in Markfield today for a meal. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. The food was disappointing and didn’t justify the fifty-two pounds we paid including drinks. More frustratingly, we weren’t checked on during the meal to see if everything was okay. For the same price, you could go to Wetherspoon and get twice the amount of food for your money. We’d rate this two stars.
Date night
Visited the Stonegallows pub just outside Taunton for the second time, and once again the service was brilliant. The staff are friendly, efficient, and make you feel genuinely welcome. A consistently great experience on every visit
My family and best friend from my…
My family and best friend from my school days had the most exciting time watching England v DRC. Brenda and I arrived early and chose a salad. Scrumptious. The service was phenomenal even during the match.
Marcus and his staff as usual made the experience terrific and I even wonder if he advised Tuchel and king Kane at HT! FANTASTIC atmosphere..kissing abd cuddling complete strangers as Kane did his magic and we were eating our BBQ chicken wings..
Engagement Party Ruined
Absolutely appalling experience and by far the worst hospitality experience I have ever had.
I booked Grain & Hop months in advance for my engagement party, with around 55 guests attending. I specifically requested the upstairs area and made it clear that we wanted the space for the whole evening. This was not a casual drinks booking – it was a once-in-a-lifetime celebration with family and friends travelling from across the UK and overseas, many paying for flights, hotels and significant travel costs to be there.
The day before the event, I suddenly received a booking reminder stating our reservation was only from 7pm–10pm. Then, shortly before the event, we were told we had been moved downstairs. Despite booking for over 50 people, we were shoved into what felt like the darkest, dingiest corner of the pub with seating for around 20 people. We had elderly relatives and pregnant guests attending, yet nobody seemed to care that the space was completely unsuitable.
The whole thing felt like our engagement party had been sacrificed because the pub wanted to prioritise football trade. Despite booking months in advance, our event was clearly treated as an inconvenience.
The most shocking part was being forced out after three hours. We repeatedly reminded management that this was our engagement celebration and that we had booked on the understanding that we would have the space for the evening. It made no difference. We were left with around 60 guests and nowhere to continue the celebration. After all the time, money and effort that our friends and family had invested in attending, it was utterly humiliating.
The attitude of management throughout was dreadful. There was no apology, no empathy and absolutely no ownership of the problems they had created. I've worked in hospitality for years and fully understand that mistakes happen. What I cannot understand is the complete lack of care and professionalism shown towards customers celebrating one of the most important occasions of their lives.
To add insult to injury, I was promised that my £100 deposit would be refunded. Weeks later, despite being told it had been processed, I still haven't received it. I have chased repeatedly and my emails are now being ignored entirely.
Grain & Hop managed to turn what should have been one of the happiest nights of my life into an upsetting and stressful experience. Not only will I never return, but neither will the dozens of guests who witnessed how poorly we were treated. If you are considering booking this venue for any important event, my advice would be simple: don't risk it. They completely ruined our engagement celebration and then ignored us afterwards.

Greene King Oxton.
Greene King Oxton.
Great position but poor unattractive seating and only four tables with parasols during a heatwave.
Food served quickly and was fine
Staff again were the biggest disappointment with a surly barmaid who hadn't bothered to make herself familiar with table numbers outside. Same barmaid who was rude last year which stopped us coming fora while.
Potentially this could be a great local -no kids and dog friendly. But staff attitude stinks which lets it down.
If your going to do deals on an app…
If your going to do deals on an app then at least honour them! Northampton Abington couldn't do the deal of 50% off after spending a 5iver then didn't honour it. Inept and indifferent poor show.
We visited the Master Potter Pub…
We visited the Master Potter Pub yesterday early evening to get some food and drinks on our way home from a day at Alton Towers Water Park, as a treat for my special needs son who was told he was not allowed to attend his prom.
We decided to stop at this pub, as it is a treat for us to eat out, and with wanting to take my son's mind off him missing out on his prom, I thought a pub meal would be a nice treat. Instead, I wasted £140+ of our money.
The staff were miserable and rude, and the food was disgusting. We spent £140+ on food, drinks and desserts, and were treated like an inconvenience by the staff. They asked for our table number when ordering, as expected, however, there was no table numbers on the outdoor tables. When we advised of this, they were rude and said there was.
They messed up the order, and tried to make out that this was our fault, were rude when we initially asked for menus and made us feel really uncomfortable. It was not the pleasant and nice experience I was hoping for at all.
Additionally, the food was vile. It was hot, however, it was small portions and the fish that myself and my son were dished up with was dry - so much so that we couldn't eat it and both pieces were wasted. The batter was also chewy and disgusting, so we just ended up eating mainly the cucumber sticks (an odd combination) and the 15 or so chips that were served with it.
All in all, a miserable experience and one I would not ever repeat again. I could have thought of a million other ways to waste £140+ than on this inedible meal.
Love the wacky
Love the wacky , staff are so friendly , went today , Millie the staff was very happy and smiley

The Bull Hotel at Long Melford
The Bull Hotel at Long Melford. I had previously been to this location for impromptu business meetings albeit a few years ago. I made the unfortunate choice to dine there recently for an evening family celebration meal. This was the worst food experience I have ever had in the UK, food appeared largely re-heated and over-cooked budget grade quality. All staff but one made us feel as though we were an inconvenience to them. So very disappointing and a place we will avoid in future.

The Grove Pub, Ealing
The world cup was on. When I was going to the bar I casually said to one of the staff, “he looked like one of the celebrities at the world cup,” and I nodded at the screen. The staff member who turned out to be a manager responded in a way I thought was curt. When I asked why, he said so loudly it felt like half the pub could hear, “I made personal remarks about his appearance which he was deeply offended by.” I apologised as you would expect.
My friends with me did not think I said anything offensive.
I don’t know of any manager who would let their staff speak to a customer like that over a perceived slight
The Grove Pub is part of the Greene king chain which Currently has a score on 2.8 here on Trust Pilot, I have looked through the reviews and other people have complained about poor customer services at their pubs.
Food was terrible
The Bull, Long Melford. Food was terrible. Never been so disappointed when dining out. Stale and overcooked. Annoying radio station playing constantly. The whole experience screamed 'dated'. Bar staff average, a smile would have been appreciated. A waste of money for a family meal. We had assumed to be seated in the restaurant but we were in the bar by the bar! Trying to forget the experience.
promotional vouchers don't work
They keep sending promotional vouchers that cannot be used at my local Green King pub. What's the point? Devalues the brand.
