It’s a shame, as the installation team were absolutely brilliant. They turned up on several occasions trying to install the panels and offered a heartfelt apology each time they couldn’t.
They also don’t get paid if they don’t do the install, so the phrase “in-house team” is debatable.

We waited nearly 6 weeks for installation to happen - had £11k’s worth of equipment dumped in our garden for the whole summer holiday period, scaffolders said it was fine to erect scaffolding, then decided it wasn’t, then didn’t bring a wheel, then didn’t bring a rope, then the rope wasn’t long enough… it goes on!

And apparently all this is somehow, the customers fault and therefore I deserve a CCJ for not paying within 24 hours …….🤷🏼‍♀️….. oh, and the scaffolding is still up!!!! 🤯

Absolutely would NOT recommend.
Also could have got it £2k cheaper elsewhere, but I was sucked in by the “don’t pay until you’re happy” and “we don’t subcontract anything” sales waffle and I thought I was doing right by supporting a local business.

How wrong can one be!

While negotiating with them they turned into rude bullies who tried to intimidate me. Next thing I knew, they must have re-evaluated their approach as their tone changed completely. I got an apology and told they were assessing their internal procedures.
Still no offer of compensation for the inconvenience though, other than a £50 Amazon voucher.

If only they were all like this. Professional, no nonsense, polite, prompt, clear information at every point in the process, simply excellent.
From the initial meeting with Victoria where she explained the whole process and offered advice on what could be fitted and how it would affect the electricity production, cost and rate of return, I knew I was dealing with a good company. They provided me with 3 proposals to compare and choose from, all of which were unmatched by the competitors I also had quotes from.
After deciding to go ahead, I paid a nominal deposit and the engineer came out to do a survey to confirm exactly what could be installed and where. Again a very polite and friendly guy who answered every question I had on the potential install.
I was notified in advance of the scaffolding installation and that was done quickly and professionally exactly as described on the date given.
The installation team consisted of Kai and Lucas who fitted the panels and framework to the roof and Joel who fitted the battery, inverter and all the electrical works. They were a pleasure to have on site, polite, friendly, efficient and I would definitely recommend these 3 guys and everyone from Green Energy Solar that I've had the pleasure to deal with.
Fantastic all round. Pity they aren't all this good.

The whole service has been very good, from initial contact and design to installation. Plenty of support getting the right setup for our house, we had solar panels and added a Tesla power wall.
The installer Gethin deserves a shout out for being very pleasant, very helpful re the installation and use of Apps etc. The installation has been very neat and tidy and has minimal impact on the look of the house.

From start to finish they were transparent, straightforward, reliable and personable. The fitters and electricians to complete the job were spot on and good to have around our home.

Wanted solar panels and battery and approached several companies. However, from my first contact with Laura, to chatting through with my needs with Jordan, through to it being installed by Lee and Gethin, and then aftersales with Coryn and Shannon, GES have been exceptional. They were all cognisant of my needs and delivered exactly what I needed.

Amazing service and communications from GES. We've had 8 panels installed with inverter and battery. Everything was handled very smoothly from the initial contact and general survey where the desktop team thought i'd get 10 panels on the roof. John came out to do the home survey and was brilliant in explaining where everything should go and why (only because we wanted the batteries on the back of the house). Fully explained how things would work and the timeframe for getting it installed.
Scaffolding went up on Day 1 and then the panel installers (Luke and Jack) arrived who were fantastic and explained the installation and also had recommendations on the best placing of the panels as this differed from the desktop survey. Everything went smoothly and then the batteries and inverter were installed and connections made inside and outside, everything was then cleaned and tidied up. Would definitely recommend GES to anyone wanting panels installed.

Initially I was very pleased with the advice of the salesman, the equipment offered and the price agreed, so I placed an order. I had to wait a few months for an installation date but that was expected. The scaffolders arrived on the day arranged and quickly and efficiently erected the scaffolding. Two days later the roofers arrived and they also quickly and efficiently fitted the 16 solar panels on the roof. As the roofers were leaving the electricians arrived to complete the installation, only to find that the scaffolding was in the way of the electrical works. The electricians did as much as they could with the scaffolding in place and reported the problem back to Green Energy Solar so that the scaffolding could be removed and the electrical works completed.

This is where it all fell apart. Green Energy Solar told me that the earliest they could get the scaffolding removed was in 11 days. I wasn't very pleased with such a long delay but had no choice. 11 days later and no sign of the scaffolders, I was then told they'd be with me the following afternoon.

I then asked when the electrician was scheduled to return to complete the installation, only to be told that they couldn't give me a date until the scaffolding had been removed. The scaffolders again failed to turn up.

In frustration I have told Green Energy Solar that if the whole installation isn't completed and fully functioning within 5 days I will cancel the whole installation and get another company to install a system.

If they do complete the installation in the next 5 days I will happily amend both my rating and this review, I live in hope!

We are delighted with our solar panels and GES have been really easy to deal with through the whole process. They are quick to respond to queries, answer the phone quickly and they are real people so it's easy to solve any
queries and everyone I have spoken to has been friendly and helpful. The installation was completed in a day and the guys worked so hard in very hot weather. They talked us through the app at the end ensuring we were set up understood how everything worked and left the site tidy. It was a real pleasure dealing with this company

Where to start.

The sales with Victoria Dawney straight honest and very mhelpful.

The Surveyour professional truthfull, knowledgable with no rubbish reply.

The Office staff very professional, never kept waiting always came back with the answer in a very timely mannor always polite efficient and help, this was time after time not a one off have to say service like has never been given for many years by companies. One very import thing they do for you is get you registered for acceptance for transfer of your excess power to the national grid and get the certificate before instalation so the wait to get paid for the export of electricity power is reduced to a minimum period. The support does not finish once instalation has been done they are there to answer any queries and give help.

The Installers the team that came were excellent, professional worked hard in tempratures of 30 degrees did not stop once got the job done and the standard of workmanship you could only mark as 100%, we were shocked when they tidied and clean up bnefore leaving. They spent time throughout the installation to tell us what was happening and we were without power in all that time for only 15 minutes, also we are not technical so went through the system very slowly with us to firstly set it up and then slowly so we could come to terms with how to check and operate the system. All completed in one day for 12 solar panels two batteries and one inverter all quality products and fitments.

Now to put light on my comments, I know people who have had solar instalation for the same amount of panels that took three days, had to arrange with the National Grid for the paperwork to export their excess electricity and twelve weeks on still do not have a National Grid certificate to be paid for the export of electricity which the National Grid are getting free. Was their system cheaper than ours which left them to do all the work most definatley not, as they old saying goes "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" in their cases they did not get the same as what I paid for or the service. My conclusion check out Green Energy Solar First then look elseware for peace of mind you have the right company and are making the right decision for you but more importantly you will be able to judge like for like against the best Green Energy Solar.

Company installed 28 panels 2 Fox batteries, a zappi car charger and an eddi diverter.
The service provided was fantastic. The team are very knowledgable and informative about the options available and provided various quotes for review.
They were quite keen in installing 480w panels instead of the 510w panels i'd asked to be quoted. They did agree to quote for the larger panels, their site survey stated the larger wouldn't fit due to MCS regulations and so I conceded to the 480W. Post installation it looks like the 510W would have fit within regulation but it would have been close. This is the only reason ive not given 5 stars.
Once all agreed the installation was done over 3 days by a great team over the hottest week of the year. The team were courteous and diligent the entire time and coordinated with a separate heat pump installer to ensure a neat collaborative installation. The post installation handover pack is comprehensive and informative. All in all I can highly recommend the company to anyone looking at a solar project

I have recently had a Tesla Battery system successfully installed by GES. Prior to selecting GES I approached a number of Tesla approved installers with varying levels of response and advice. I chose GES due to their prompt visit to view the property and the level of their advice. GES are MCS accredited for both battery and solar panel installations, something the other companies generally kept quiet about in relation to battery installation.
The installation went forward as planned without any problems and is working well.

Great experience overall. Clearly knew their stuff, clear communication throughout and we always knew the next step.
Installation was great, they were considerate and efficient. Offered to give us a full demonstration of the associated app as well as the technical details. Courtesy call afterwards to check everything was okay. Great service, would recommend!

Great installation and very professional team — everything was fitted neatly and the initial service was excellent. I also had an app issue early on which was resolved quickly.

However, after spending ~£14,000 on the system, my inverter failed in May 2026 and the system has now been down for over 4 weeks with no clear resolution date at times. There were cancelled appointments, missed callbacks, and a lack of clear communication until I escalated the issue.

It also appears the system is locked into specific hardware, meaning no alternative inverter could be used to speed things up. Given the company is continuing to install new systems, its difficult to understand why existing customers with non-operational systems are experiencing such delays.

To their credit, things have improved after escalation and the case is now being treated as a priority — but this required a lot of chasing.

Good install, but aftercare during faults has been disappointing so far.

I had Green Energy Solar out to fit a new battery system without solar, which will come later. They were absolutely brilliant. It was as if they weren't even here and when they left all mess (if there was any) was gone as well.
I couldn't fault them and they will definitely be installing the solar panels if we need them.

In a world of sharks, this company demonstrates how things should be; recommended and approved by both Tesla and Octopus, GES is highly professional, reactive and friendly.

We had solar panels and a battery system installed in our garage. GES were friendly and highly professional from our first sales visit that never pressurised and tended to under-specify and under-promise and gave us a range of options from the cheapest to the most expensive. The survey and install were delivered seamlessly, neatly, and highly professionally and completed in less than two days.

The system is exactly what we hoped. It is top quality and rated as among the best on the market. The only problem: I am now obsessed with turning off the lights and the dryer to save pennies on my now minuscule electricity bill. We are waiting to complete the feed-in paperwork, and then everything will be complete.
