Beware: No refunds when you can't redeem vouchers

Broken, slow and annoying site and no customer service. I bought a deal that even after spending hours on with customer service I was unable to redeem online. The site is a nightmare - it simply doesn't work. Trying to access 'my stuff' takes ages, you click and then wait and wait and wait...when you can finally be bothered to try and get your refund, they'll only give you back 'buck's - basically they're just one big scam artist. They actually reduced me to tears at one point. Never again.

Not good

Not good, wouldn’t recommend to use, they wont help you if you have issues witn the provider and , when you try to use their voucher, the businesses treat you badly.

Don't use it, thjey wont help if you have issue

My wife booked and adventure gift for me. I put away to use later without thinking about it too much. Generally expiry dates are at least a year or more according to Consumer Protection (Gift Vouchers) Act 2019 (No. 38 of 2019) I was not even worried about it. Tried to used it expired. No money no service, no resolution. Is mental, I will take partial blame for not paying attention. Still can't believe this possible.

Be very careful using this company

Be very careful using this company. They sold me vouchers for ice skating for my 2 kids. They booked me in for a day and time. We travelled a total of 3 hours only to arrive at a closed facility. I couldn't get through to Groupon and when I emailed them to complain they just offered a credit for the voucher value! Really poor being that we wasted a day and my kids were very disappointed

It’s a shame their website is so…

It’s a shame their website is so glitchy and their customer service not great. I always thought they had some good deals and used to use it a lot. Now it’s become impossible to redeem coupons, their customer service can’t help and right now I have different coupons that I won’t be able to use because the sites either won’t redeem them, or because I can’t log in to cancel others that after purchasing no longer had any availability after purchase. I currently have 9 different deals activated

Awful customer service

Awful customer service, no help or understanding at all. I could not get through to hair salon to change my appointment date, no response to emails etc and my voucher had already been redeemed ! Groupon refused to help or issue a refund, many emails sent but same automated messages received..I will never use Groupon again.

Misleading Promotion and No Resolution After 2 Months

I’ve been a Groupon customer for years but this experience has completely destroyed my trust in the company. I completed a promotion that offered a €25 Giftcloud voucher with a qualifying purchase. It has now been over 2 months, and instead of receiving the voucher, my claim has been finally refused, despite following every requirement exactly.

Giftcloud (Groupon’s partner) repeatedly asked me to provide screenshots and proof, which I submitted multiple times. On 6 November they confirmed the case was escalated and promised a 24 to 48 hour resolution. Then they went silent. Weeks later they suddenly claimed I was “not eligible” due to cookies or blockers, which is completely untrue. I completed the purchase through the correct link, in a clean session, with cookies enabled, no blockers, and not in incognito mode. Their explanation contradicts the evidence I provided and their own earlier assurances.

To be absolutely clear: I followed the promotion exactly, provided all proof, waited over 2 months, and the reward was ultimately refused without valid justification.

What’s worse is that Groupon has not taken responsibility or ensured their promotional partner honours the offer. The communication has been slow, contradictory, and dismissive.

Given how poorly this has been handled, I have now raised the matter with the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.

Extremely disappointed. A promotion should not end with weeks of chasing, mixed messages, and a refusal at the end.

Pamper Time

Villux Therapy salon, expierenced therapist Agatha, had a great technique and made a deeply relaxing session, massage was perfect and lovely facial treatment. I would recommend this salon and would definitely return.

Nightmare

Nightmare
Purchased voucher for smokinbones in temple bar. Smokin bones would not except voucher..Groupon will not give me a refund and told me to use voucher to enjoy a great experience or I should give voucher as gift. The voucher has redeemed itself. I am out 40 euro. No customer service..just emails back and forth..repeatedly..with no resolution. I have been arguing with Groupon since oct 26, 2025..still useless

The voucher codes don’t work

The codes for my voucher don’t work and there is no way to get in contact with customer support. The chat is always loading. I got through once and the person left the chat before I had a chance to type the issue. I tried to get the email but it keeps deferring me to the chat function that doesn’t work. The voucher is for Check my Body Ireland. Total waste of money and terrible customer support.

Fraudsters

Wrongfully sold a voucher for a spa in Co Clare. The merchant informed me they are selling these vouchers without the hotels permission. When it came to getting a refund , there not forthcoming and keep saying it's under investigation. Violation of the merchants business. Violation of consumer rights. Absolutely fraud.

No tickets given and No refund

Booked 7 tickets for a circus for the same day evening show. Vouchers were never generated and so couldnt attend the show as we dont have valid tickets or proof. Next morning the app says vouchers used. Customer service agents says its non Refundable tickets and refusing a refund eventhough they never gave a ticket in the first place.

Great and friendly service at StudioZaina within a calm and relaxing environment. Friendly hairdresser from Brazil who is technically gifted. One of the rare times a hairdresser really listens and executes. Highly recommended!

I had the pleasure of being assisted by Vijayaakumar from Groupon's support team, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Courteous, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful throughout – the kind of service that reminds you what great customer care looks like.

It’s easy to feel like just another number when dealing with large companies, but this experience was personal and professional from start to finish.

Thank you so much to all the lovely staff who looked after me yesterday. I went in with nightmare nails and they all helped to fix my nails and I was delighted with the result. Would highly recommend this salon.

Undercover fraud

They send you a voucher code then you have to redeem it in other website..my case CDKEPC.com… then they send me 2 invalid windows 11 keys… definitely fraud

Total scam

I bought what seemed like Microsoft Office. It was cheap, so I risked it. It turned out to be a scam. I tried to cancel the order and request a refund; however, there is no way to cancel, and there is no way to contact Groupon. The site is a total scam, so do not buy anything unless you want to lose your money.

The best massage ever! Dr. Amita is so professional—I also tried acupuncture and now my back pain is completely gone. Plus, Robin at the front desk was wonderful
