I have owned a guitar since I was 18. I turn 72 in August.
I've been somewhat lazy on my commitment to learning, though, up until starting with GMM.
Firstly, the Blueprint program, then Fastlane 66, Unlock the Fretboard, the Modes.
Family stuff takes priority but my family also knows that I need to do my lessons. It gives me a mixture of emotions - satisfaction, overwhelmed, sense of achievement, doubt, challenge. A lot of that is addressed in the course, though, so that's helpful.

Guitar Mastery Method is a great online teaching of playing guitar!!! Charlie and all the other instructors are awesome in explaining what they teach!! So many courses you can choose from with detailed instruction. I highly suggest anyone who wants to learn guitar and theory, this is the place to be!!! The community is always helpful in giving advice on what needs improvement and also a friendly atmosphere. I have learned so much more with GMM than when I had a one-on-one guitar teacher! I've been with them for a few years now and plan on staying! They do so much work behind the scenes to make many good things possible for all of us!!!

GMM was able to get me from playing the Pentatonic scale in one position on the guitar fret board to soloing utilizing the entire fret board and how to make it sound musical. They break it down in easy steps with recorded and live sessions. They have also created a very helpful community of other students who are very helpful.

I have always loved the guitar and wanted to learn to play, but always thought it was for gifted people. Ones that just can naturally play and get it differently than others. I decided to get a guitar, and quickly realized that I was not that gifted person. I went onto YouTube and attempted to learn songs and for a while tried to follow the memorizing techniques they were teaching. I realized that I have the memory of a goldfish, and that wasn’t going to work either so I eventually just quit and went back to doing the things that I loved, including the gym, which training 6 times a week was easy for me. Listening to my favorite metal solos would always bring me back to I want to be good at this so badly, but it’s just way too hard. I had signed up for GMM on just one section of the class and I couldn’t even do 30bpm spiders for a very long time so I quit again. Then came the 66 day challenge last October, and everything changed. Breaking down the mechanics of things I had to learn before I could ever play anything was what I needed. I did the lessons every single day, and just kept improving 1 bpm per day until I was significantly better by the end of the 66 days. Much less string misses, much less buzzing. I still practice the exercises every single day. I continue to get better. I never did think I’d get past the spiders. Then came the learning the fretboard and how it will help me play the solos that I knew I could never memorize. Understanding the fretboard and how it works and how to change keys and learning about major and minor notes and how to use them has been incredibly fun and will eventually have me playing with meaning and someday shredding. I am absolutely obsessed with my guitars now and look forward to getting home and playing and actually sounding musical to a backing track and now knowing where to play per backing track. I have never met, or even spoken to Charlie, Eddie, Lexi and Mike, but I feel like I know them, and I can really feel how much they want to see all succeed. Teaching is truly their calling. I’m so happy that I chose to be part of the VIP program and so look forward to learning more with them. It has been so much fun and I have a place to feel peace and happiness in a fast paced world. I guarantee I will hit all of my goals, as they are giving me all of the tools that are easy to understand. I've owned a guitar for years and sometime in 2022/3ish I decided I'm going to learn how to play this damn thing for real. Played every day and never really progressed beyond exercises and some snippets/riffs from songs I like. I've purchased quite a few books (a couple are actually useful) but the information was really not much more than exercises- bits and pieces of theory with no explanation of how to actually use it (that clicked with me anyway). October 2025 I by chance happened across Guitar Mastery Method and their Guitar Fastlane 66 program, a couple weeks late, but hey, let's give it a try. The live community and weekly live sessions made me actually excited about the goal for every day. Then the mind 1 (theory) season came so I joined the GMM VIP club because I wanted to keep the good vibe going. Boom... here's where the broken pieces put together part comes in... alot the "exercises" I was doing are actually part of something bigger, I just didn't realize it. I can't believe how fast it clicked all the sudden. Long story short, I've improved dramatically more in 6 months with GMM than any other material I've tried over the last few years. The whole real time community involvement and support is just something you have to experience. Definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out.

I actually have paid for membership in the past to the National Guitar Academy and Justin Guitar, Campfire Guitar, I think Mike was there. The best by far to learn the most is the Guitar Mastery Method with Charlie, Eddie, Mike, and Lexi, etc. It all started with a book I read by Charlie…I’m 63 years old so this journey has been great….I wanted to play for my mom but she passed in January…the journey continues…..Michael Kozenczak

I joined this community about two months ago, with very limited abilities with the guitar. I just finished the EMA M1 Unlock the Fretboard course with over 700 of my new best guitar friends. The course is amazing, the teachers are amazing, the content is amazing and the community is amazing.
Information is well organized and presented. Questions and feedback are rapid, honest, constructive and on point.
So many different ways to advance your playing with technique, theory and application, one can't help but grow as a player.

My experience with Guitar Mastery has been life changing, in my guitar playing. Also my understanding the methods in major scales to minor scales. These two things has really improved my playing with more feeling as get into playing along with back tracks, it's really has changed my playing. I really have been blessed to find Guitar Mastery and I love the live sessions I get to watch and learn from Charlie and the others. New techniques are always welcome with me. I know we all just got a taste of it and it's delicious! I'am ready to soak it all in if I am able.
I will share this with every musician I come in contact with. We all need improvement in all we do in this life.

GMM is put together by some of the most dedicated and talented "instructors" I have ever encountered. I've resisted taking lessons on the guitar for many years although I always wanted to learn to play. The apprehension I was feeling was fear of not being able to learn and therefore - fail. When I took the chance and joined the GMM team, it came with an amazing group of talented and dedicated teachers who really put everything into what they do. Really good at what they do. ZERO judgement (which I didn't think was possible) and the community (of other like minded guitarists) - helps make this work as well. What can one say about a company, and the people within that company, that changed your life for the better? I have suffered from PTSD and decided that playing the guitar would be a way for me to help keep myself grounded. When I joined GMM, I have very little knowledge of the guitar. I have been playing for around 50 years off and on. would quit playing then start again but would always end up in the same place as before and would stop, when I found this program it was amazing I learned more about being musical when I played in 4 weeks than I had in then last 15 years. The instructors are light hearted in their approach but very serious in teaching how to play better. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is stuck with their playing.

What made my experience so great is that now I know the CAGED System better than ever. I can look at the fretboard and visualize all 5 patterns on the Fretboard,all of the right notes in each pattern, the Root notes,maj and mi, the blue notes, 5th, 3rd, 7th, 2nd. Solo over the chord changes 1,4&5. And so much more. The instructors and community are always eager to help.

At which point, 2 courses have been completed with another upcoming. This might not sound like a significant accomplishment, without a brief summary.

The first course allowed me to finally overcome mechanical issues that had plagued me back to last millenium. These changes have allowed me to play much more efficiently! The ergonomic change has vastly improved endurance, and I don't feel contorted or strained to play or practice.

The second course has been focused on applying the pentatonic patterns to the fretboard, and familiarity with root notes along with supplemental notes for phrasing. Unlike previous efforts, GMM has presented the information and accompanying exercises to maximize retention. The material is accessible for review, and the teachings are very simple to put into practice.

One could conclude that the results from these 2 courses alone are worth the price of membership. There are a multitude of archives and modules available which are suitable for absolute beginners, journeymen and those needing to correct issues. The foundation is absolutely solid with GMM, and you get far beyond what you pay.

my experience has been awesome and i have not yet fully taken advantage of all the resources available at gmm. the live sessions every sunday have been fantastic. i've learned more in the last six weeks than in many months of programs prior. the resources are there. the lessons are there. the instructors are there. all you have to do is take your personal motivation and invest it in this program. you will get results. and, compared to other resources i have used in the past, the value is here is a bonus. if you are willing to spend the time, you get far more value for far less cost than taking private lessons, or things like school of rock, or subscribing to multiple youtube channels, etc. finally, gmm offers a money back guarantee. so, there is no risk in trying. i was skeptical at first. when i signed up, i made note of the time allowed to cancel for a refund. it took only a few days and lessons to know that i would continue indefinitely. i just finished the m1 course of mastering the fretboard. it was a blast and i learned a lot. can't wait for m2 to start. give it a try. you'll love it. if i'm wrong, just cancel and nothing lost.
