Guitar Mastery Method Avis 145

I have done courses before, but the course I just completed about understanding the fretboard, was phenomenal. This is the first time the entire CAGED system has stuck in my head. I can play in any key in the five shapes on the fretboard. The instructors and live sessions were outstanding, the lesson material was first rate, and the FaceBook community of hundreds of people was there to answer questions and offer constructive comments. If you want to really move forward in your guitar playing, then it is worth it to be involved in one of the GMM courses. It will require work on your part, but the payoff will be SO worth it!

The whole program is wonderful. It's fun, it's insightful, it's comprehensive without being too heavy on the brain with technical jargon. It is definitely learning how to play correctly and with purpose, but the way it is delivered makes it fun and enjoyable. Of course the whole idea is to learn to play guitar the correct way, but the lessons and information is easier to absorb than anything I've done previously. Plus it energised me to make it more of a daily regimen, rather than what was previously more of a hit and miss thing. And there are notes, recordings and PDFs to fall back on so replays and catch-ups are always available. I'm really learning to play the way I wanted to be able to thanks to this program.

After playing for 50 years I have now gained, for the first time, a true understanding of the entire fretboard. I can now create actual music to any backing track in any key. It's effortless and fun. The team at GMM provides endless live events to continuously improve your skills no matter where current abilities are. They also have numerous courses available in their libraries and a very active and supportive community on FaceBook. I've been with them for 5 years and it just keeps getting better.

This type of opportunity wasn't available to me as a youngster. It's the kind of lessons that last a lifetime. They build a solid foundation and expand on that. They teach the right way.
It doesn't take long before you're wailing away with confidence.

I have tried allot of online courses & this one by far has stuck with me. There is so much material on this platform that takes a beginner guitar player & turn them into intermediate rather quickly. What you put into it you will get out of it. Someone in the community or from the team is always there to offer suggestions & help with your frustrations & yes unless your perfect you will have frustrations. Do you need to know theory to play? No but you will learn anyways. There are so many amazing players out there that have no idea what they are playing. This program will help you understand where you stand & get you to where you want to go.!

I have been learning lead guitar for 2 years with Guitar Mastery Method. I have been to classes at a college in NY,I have e tried other online courses and they weren't able to explain and teach the way that the GMM instructors were able to teach me,they were able to teach in a simple uncomplicated way that really works.I've learned pentatonic,diatonic,blues scales,where the root notes are.How to play the scales in different keys,I am now learning the modes.The teach us speed and dexterity exercises,we get live classes with great interaction between the students and instructors.We have an online community that supports each other.THERE IS NOTHING BETTER ONLINE OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER! I started with the free Guitar Mastery 66 course at the end of 2025- enjoyed it so much I joined VIP for one month and started Unlock the Fretboard and EMA in 2026 which was amazing! I was able to learn the CAGED system and solo across the fretboard in only 3-4 weeks!!! I also learned how to transpose the CAGED system to different keys (still cannot believe I can actually do this). This includes weekly live online lessons with a community. The instructors are wonderful - you can tell they really care and are great teachers. They are continually asking for feedback, incorporate the feedback and are continually improving the program. At the end of the course there is an online celebration with give aways. The community is great - very supportive and helpful. If you have a question, just ask in the community and members and teachers answer which gives you a variety of approaches. The community consists of various skill levels from beginner to advanced. In the VIP club there are also numerous courses available - learning is unlimited as GMM continues to add new things. Guitar Mastery Method has provided me with a very structured and effective method of learning, and I am astounded with my progress and my confidence.

I've been playing guitar/bass for 20+ years. Motivation peaked when I was playing in a church orchestra and had to teach myself to follow along and be in the game...with professionals. The GMM is more than a course; it's an opening up of all things guitar, from notes, to patterns (sooo helpful), to progress support, to virtual live sessions, to an online community of fellow guitar players (and guitar player wannabes), to celebrations, to encouragement, to a library of lessons, to added content on a regular basis. This isn't a stagnant site with self-guided ideas. I think of it as a private lesson with a team of instructors who genuinely love their calling, know how to play, and offer the best instructional system I've come across.
I went from barely motivated to full-scale, "I want to play my guitar/bass!"

I ordered and paid for the shipment of a guitar instructional DVD. They enrolled me in a 'VIP Membership' that I never agreed upon, I've never asked for, and never plan to do it. This morning I noticed a 27 bucks charge in my card balance. Obviously I'm very upset because despite being cautious of what I order online; I feel like I was scammed by this company. I hope I can work it out somehow. Now I can see a long painful road awaits me with the bank, as I asked them to freeze the account due to the unrecognized charge.

Update:
While initially seemed like they did not want to refund the charge, at the end; and with the help of Amanda , they decided to do the right thing and act professional. I appreciate that and I hope that they improve their website in such manner there's no way a customer could be misled into purchasing something that wasn't intended to buy. At the end of the day it's a lot more business they can get by being extremely transparent.

Fantastic , I’ve been a member for many years and upgraded to VIP membership, many many different courses , live lessons, and community inter action, the best way of learning and advancing in guitar out there, highly recommended

i dont remember signing up for this course, it was only when i checked my bank balance that i noticed they had been taking money out, over £200 to date.There is money coming out on consecutive days ? They are not replying to my e mails, I don't know what i'm paying for. I would appreciate some feed back from them.

I liked Eddie Haddad as a teacher. His manner and style is easy to watch... The sound and picture (video studio) quality was great! BUT watching hours of video does not help you play guitar... The courses I purchased span rock, blues, acoustic etc and they ALL go back to basics obviously!
The material doesn't assume you understand the basics! Example - like how to form an E Chord! Or explain the open notes, or the tuning etc.
Frustrated with the repetition was I!
It would be great if the material was noted as core or fundamental, and be skipped as it was already covered in another course, thereby saving time. Practice playing guitar is the time best spent. Theory for CONTEXT is very useful too... But why not separate it out, so when commuting or something where I can listen to lengthy concept driven content? That would be great to save time!
If you look directly at the included PDFs, you see the unique content... THIS is the actual real applied content! The stuff that you can play along and learn skills! THIS, it turns out, is sadly not going to deliver on the promises! There's not a lot of it and not is it particularly compelling or groundbreaking.
The theory material is presented well, and it clarified many really obscure music tech. I feel like guitar mastery method is not fit for purpose! The great explanations of music theory does not a guitar player make.
I am stuck with an almost encyclopedic presentation of music theory. That has ground my motivation to PLAY to a halt.
I wrote about this issue and was offered a replacement course. A refund was not offered because it took me 12 months to write the complaint. No mention was made of the fact that I have only viewed 43% of 1 of 5 courses in all This was a rehash of basic information. The sound and video quality was very low.

Bottom Line!
I feel like I need to take my complaint to the Fair Trade regulator, as it not not fair to bill a product as to provide mastery, but fails to back up the claim with practical training materials to achieve said mastery.

I subscribed for the basic 47$ Guitar Mastery Method 101 course in 2022 following a video I saw on youtube that quite convincingly promised to teach how to play guitar.

I followed the "method" described in the video lessons for months and months, practicing with their practice routine, until I reached the pentatonic boxes part of the course and finally hurt my left hand trying to do all the scales/spiders/hybrid picking "solo/shred only" exercises.
And during all this time I kept asking myself "when does the rythm part start? Is this all there is about learning to play guitar?"

The "method" is all centered around becoming faster and faster in soloing techniques , scales , pentatonic boxes , alternate/hybrid/sweep picking etcetera, not an hint on how to do basic chords or how to properly strum.

All the while I kept receiving *very frequent* ( and I mean many each and every day!) emails that tried to push me into purchasing other courses and VIP clubs of sorts , with seemingly incredible discounts.
One of the most detestable emails ( that borders the scam IMHO) was and still is the recurring offer of "free DVDs" with wonderful courses that promise to "master the fretboard" or "solo in any key" or "GPR system" or other similar things.
The DVD might be free, but beware, you have to pay the shipping and handling, and, in my case ( I'm from Italy ) the S&H costs 60$ (!!!!).
I learned this the first time I tried to accept the "free DVD offer", since I was still fresh and hopeful it could help me learn guitar.

But when I saw the S&H charge I stopped the procedure.
It was at that time that they started bombarding me with emails asking "please complete your 'free DVD' order procedure" "what's the issue? please complete the procedure" "it's a free DVD, why don't you finish the procedure?" "only some copies remaining, please hurry!" etc etc ( you get the picture... )

I contacted the support, which , in all honesty, responded quite quickly, but could not help and restated that the S&H was 60$ so I had to pay that ( absurdly high ) amount to cover the shipping costs.
I kindly replied asking if there was an option to view the DVD online , even paying a small amount for the service, but that is not possible, they say.
So I declined the "offer".

You would think this was the end, right?

In the last 3 years I received hundreds if not thousands of similar "pressure push" emails and many, too many "free DVD offers" which , at a certain point, I started skipping altogether since I already knew the high S&H fee was the real cost to pay for the "free" DVD.

Of all the "pressure methods" they adopt in their many emails I have always found this to be the most annoying and deceptive.

I also tried to follow some of their free live video lessons that some times they offer with their teachers, but they were not very helpful to make me improve, only some tidbits of information and very little of a "method" to follow to really start improving.
Also beware , because the lessons are in a time zone different from mine and I had to stay up all sunday night to follow.
In all honesty I have to say that the lessons hosted by Mike Baelde actually gave some interesting insights into chords, but, alas, with no real structure or insight on how to learn their meaning into the bigger picture.
All the other live lessons still centered around soloing, riffs and "being the guitar hero you can be" ( which is all an empty slogan ) and nothing else.

I have to tell you, guitar playing *IS NOT ONLY SOLOING!*
There is so much more (fun) to it!

I have since found another *real Method* (of course not from GMM) that has allowed me to really improve my guitar playing and comprehension starting from what should be the basis , that is how to hold your guitar, how to make basic chords, how to strum , how to learn by playing very very simple songs, and then it progresses very gradually and organically to make you improve all around and actually enjoy the process , all without hurting your hand trying to shred and solo as the first step in this wonderful universe that guitar playing is.

This was my experience with GMM and , unless your only goal is to do "solos in any key", I strongly reccomend you to look elsewhere.

P.S: only today I have already received 4 emails from GMM trying to push me into subscribing their wonderful lifetime pass to "Unlock the fretboard" and save 600$+ dollars.
Every day they say "it will be the last day, hurry"
And they go on for weeks...
Enough is enough!
