I recently returned from the beginner horse riding trip in Norway, this was my third gutsy girls trip and definitely won’t be the last! Everything is so well organised, you don’t have to think about anything. The food was incredible and the location was so beautiful. Our group was a lot of fun and our guide Carly was amazing, so kind and so confident with the horses which made me feel much more comfortable.
I can’t wait for my next trip!

Riding with Gutsy Girls.
I booked the Beginner Riding holiday in Norway. This was a very active holiday with plenty of riding, guidance on improving your ability and time spent caring for your horse over the three days. Yoga either started or finished the day and we swam in the lake followed by a hot sauna with wonderful lake views.
The whole trip was very well organised. Good information before the trip ensured that travel arrangements ran smoothly. Our GG host Carly, met us at Oslo airport station and was excited to discuss the days ahead. We were picked up at Ringebu station and driven to the Venabu Fjellhotell. This was a traditional Norwegian hotel in open countryside with extensive views in every direction. The food at the hotel was fantastic and plentiful. The stables were just a three minute walk from the hotel. They were well run with friendly and helpful instructors. Including Carly, our host, our group comprised of five women, non of whom had ever met before. Carly was welcoming and inclusive from the start. She fitted into the group seamlessly while also being quietly attentive to everyone's needs. She was always encouraging and stepped in with helpful horsey advice whenever it was needed. For me, the company, encouragement and easy companionship of the group became one of the real highlights of the holiday. I've come home with improved riding confidence and happy memories of the women i shared this special holiday with.

I’ve just finished an amazing week in Croatia with GG. There was excellent variety of activities (SUP, biking, hiking and kayak) and we were all encouraged to push ourselves. There was a huge sense of achievement at the end! The food was fantastic - local dishes cooked by local people. I would highly recommend this trip. Our host, Helen, was very hands on and considerate and our local guides felt very competent and experienced. The weather was excellent all week - couldn’t have wished for a better holiday.

Beginners Riding holiday Norway

The trip was well-organised with a great itinerary. Our host Carly was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We learnt the fundamentals of riding in a safe environment and built the confidence to ride through the stunning Norwegian countryside. Great ladies, lasting memories and wonderful location. I can’t recommend it enough.

An amazingly organised tour. Really clear communication prior to the trip about what to bring and what to expect. I did the island hopping in Croatia and it was amazing from the local guides they use to the Gusty Girls host that come with us. Lou was amazing and was able to answer all questions we had no mater how crazy they were. She helped keep us organised with timings and locations for each day. The activities on the trip were great SUP, Sea kayaking and cycling(with the option not to do it). Food is provided by a local and was amazing, he was able to accommodate to so many different diets. I am already looking at what trip I want to do next year with them.

Just back from my first GG trip to Norway hiking with Elaine F as our host. Everything was so well organised from start to finish with very little need to make decisions! I think I was lucky to have such a great group of women on the trip and a brilliant host taking care of us. So much fun and laughter, jam packed days, lots of calories burnt! 10/10

Improvers Riding Holiday Norway (Aug 2026).
After experiencing the Beginners Riding holiday in 2025, I couldn’t wait to return to Venabu. I opted for the Experienced ride initially but changed to the Improvers ride at the last minute. The team at Gutsy Girls were fantastic and sorted everything for me, fuss free.
The holiday was fantastic (again). Great riding on well cared for horses, yoga to stretch out achy muscles, lake swimming and saunas for wellbeing and all in a naturally stunning location. The food at the hotel is totally worth the trip too! Exceptional! Thank you to our GG host Amy, whose company made the trip all the more enjoyable 😁

Great group of inspiring like-minded women, range of ages and backgrounds. Varied hikes in the beautiful Norwegian countryside/ national parks, moderate to challenging with no pressure and option to take it easier if needs be. Hotel comfortable and friendly, great morning buffet options and tasty and substantial evening meals. Indoor and outdoor sauna, yoga/ dip in the lake/ waterfall- a real Norwegian experience! Knowledgable, attentive hosts and guides. 5/5 would do it again!

I had a fantastic time on my first Gutsy Girls trip to Sardinia! I wanted an active holiday and GG 100 % delivered! Everything was well thought out and perfectly planned; from the delicious lunch on arrival, to the daily itineraries outlining what we needed to pack and what we could expect for the following day.
Savana, our GG host was amazing; so welcoming, friendly and supportive, she made sure everyone felt comfortable and had exactly what they needed. Our guide Pod; was also fantastic, his local knowledge, encouragement, and love of Sardinia really shone through and helped make the trip an unforgettable experience! Thank you to Savana and Pod!
The food and drinks throughout the week also stood out, it was great to be able to experience so many different and delicious local restaurants!
Special mention goes to the amazing group of women who were on the trip-everyone got along from day 1 and grew closer as the week progressed. You know it's a great trip when you can't stop laughing at the most ridiculous of things with new friends! GG - I think I might just book another trip!

Just back from the wonderful Slovenia white water SUP trip and my advice is, if you're considering it, just book it! The itinerary was really well put together - full days of activity but well balanced, with the option of additional pre-breakfast walks/dips for early birds, and we were well fed throughout the day.

We built up the paddle skills needed for white water on beautiful lakes and rivers with our excellent guide Spela, then did an intro to faster moving water on a small section of river, followed by two full mornings of white water led by a different but equally encouraging and enthusiastic team.

The canyoning was great fun - a little daunting at the start but everyone encouraged each other, and the short hikes took us to beautiful swim spots and waterfalls. We were surrounded by mountains and stunning views for the whole trip.

Everything was very well organised, with host Polly making sure we had all the information and support we needed, so all you have to do is pack the right stuff, turn up and enjoy the activities and views. This was my first Gutsy Girls trip but hopefully won't be the last.

I highly recommend these trips to any woman looking for a little adventure and an opportunity to see new places, try new things and expand your comfort zone. I’ve been on two trips now and will definitely be doing more. The trips are packed with exciting activities, amazing women and I always come away with a desire to do more.

On the Slovenia whitewater SUP trip we learnt so much about technique and everything was cleverly paced so you’re always ready for the next step. Our local guide Spela was such an inspiration and our Gutsy Girls host Polly made the trip exciting, comfortable and smooth. She’s a rockstar. Couldn’t have asked for a better pair. What a stunning country to learn something new.

Not long back from my 3rd gutsy girls trip to Slovenia (SUP/Hike). Such a well constructed trip with a good variety of activities pitched at the perfect level. As per usual the support from the guide and the host were fantastic. They ran it like a well oiled machine, and made sure everyone was comfortable, well fed and supported.
Slovenia was a dream, and the organisation, thought and time that goes into a gutsy girls trip makes it so worthwhile. Always happy to recommend gutsy girls for a fantastic adventure trip! Already thinking about another one

I was a little nervous about going on the trip, especially as I was sharing a room. But I had the most amazing time, our host, Ruth, was really friendly and relaxed but also on it and organised - she really made me feel at ease. The whole trip was really well planned and allowed for us to make little adjustments when needed. The location was absolutely beautiful, so peaceful.
The beginners group was small so we could have extra attention from the riding instructor. I couldn’t recommend tripping with Gutsy Girls enough. It’s given me back my confidence with horse riding. Big thanks to Ruth for guiding us and the other women on the trip 🧡

Excellent host on N Macedonia trip 03-08 August. Supportive and fun. For a solo traveller this was an incredible experience with an incredible bunch of amazing women.

I just got back from my second trip with Gutsy Girls (hiking in North Macedonia) and it was an absolute blast! Even with a much larger group this time, every single woman connected, supported one another, and brought so much great energy. I haven't laughed that much in a long time!

The hikes were properly challenging, which was exactly what I was hoping for. We happened to go during a heatwave, and it was undeniably tough, but with the right gear, clear communication, and a host who listened to every concern, it was handled brilliantly. Plans were adapted seamlessly so everyone felt safe and looked after.

Our host felt like a natural part of our group from day one. I came home feeling completely inspired to carry that sense of adventure into my daily life. In fact, our group is already planning our next Gutsy Girls trip together! If you’re on the fence, just book it.

First holiday with GG, really enjoyed it. Well organised throughout and our host Chrissy was brilliant. Felt very well looked after and informed at all times. Norway is beautiful, the hotel and food were perfect.

The whole experience was faultless, hotel, horses, food all superb.
A special mention about our guide, Chrissy, who was the perfect mix of professionalism, quietly getting all our requests sorted whilst being great company.

Amazing company to go away with, so well organised and Amy our host, was absolutely fantastic.
It was pretty full on and not for the feint-hearted, but the most amazing experience and such a great group of like-minded women, all cheering each other on. The hotel was faultless, family-run, clean and beautiful food. The area and places we hiked were stunning. Highly recommend and although I went with my pal, I wouldn't hesitate to go along, as everyone was really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be booking with them again.

This was my first trip with Gutsy Girls, and it really was brilliant :)
Everything was super well organised, with our fab host Savannah, who made everyone feel totally at ease, as well as our local guide Pod with his great local knowledge.
The trip was a good balance of active active, with activities such as SUP, yoga and via ferrata, but with a bit of much needed downtime each day as well.
The food was also great, with 3 course lunches and dinners in different restaurants/cafes most days. It should have been labelled a food tour!
In summary, at first glance it's not a cheap trip, however literally everything has been thought of, so there is no organisational stress, plus the only additional outlays will be any extra drinks, souvenirs etc when you are there.
A really great trip :)
