Disappointing service and poor handling of water analysis
I engaged H2OChem to investigate severe water hardness in our private aquifer supply and advise on suitable treatment options. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
Despite having booked and paid for a site visit, the engineer failed to arrive at the agreed time. When he eventually arrived approximately two hours later, he explained that the appointment had not appeared on his schedule and that he had been diverted to attend.
I also paid a substantial amount for water analysis. The samples were collected on 25 September but did not reach the laboratory until 28 September. Every test in the laboratory report carried a deviation warning indicating that the transport temperature was unknown and that sample stability could not be confirmed. This was particularly concerning for the microbiological results.
When I questioned this, H2OChem explained that such deviations were not uncommon and did not automatically invalidate the results. However, they did not explain the three-day delay or confirm how the samples had been stored.
I was also disappointed by the limited scope of the analysis. In their response to my complaint, H2OChem referred to an interpretation report containing recommendations, but no such report had been provided to me.
Most surprisingly, rather than offering to resolve my concerns, H2OChem informed me that they did not consider further attendance or services appropriate.
I approached this company expecting professional advice and reliable testing. Given the cost, the administrative problems, the questions surrounding sample handling and the response to my complaint, I was left extremely dissatisfied.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend H2OChem.
