We instructed HBW to sell our Dad’s house in September 24. The process was quite lengthy, completing at the end of January 25. It was a simple transfer with no chain. I do not understand why it took so long in today’s modern, computer orientated environment! Prior to the beginning of January we were not always updated on progress. I had to contact HBW on several occasions to ask for a progress report. Helena took over the conveyancing in January and we found her to be very efficient. Her communication was excellent.

I approached this company to witness an application for a passport having used them for a house purchase. The solicitor, whilst about to retire, was very helpful, I had the application witnessed, paid a fee and he 'logged' my documents in case they were needed after he left.

The passport application office reviewed the witness and said that as he was retired they would not accept it, so I phoned HBW again and was told initially they did not do it. When I said they had before they had done it, the helpful secretary asked other partners who informed her 'they did not have time'. This is an Irish passport and takes less than two minutes to witness.

I informed them, that even though I had paid a fee I was willing to pay another, I was told again that he does not have time. I enquired if I had a house sale would he have time....the response was it would be at least three weeks before he could see me....my application will have expired by then.

Terrible service, paid once, they have my docs and just not willing to help out. The only good thing about this firm are the secretaries.

We have just completed on what turned out to be a slightly more complicated house move than we thought. It was a good job we had Helena working on our behalf as she negotiated any problems that cropped up from the chain below and was just overall amazing and made us feel so confident and comfortable throughout the whole process.
