Just started using it and the average percentage charge for fees they advertised isn't even close so far, actually spending more than i was with the last merchant. Transitioning back to that company now.

You really can talk to a person!
For my onboarding call, Ana was very knowledgeable (which sadly you can't assume these days) and I really appreciated my conversation with her. Since I had already spent some time looking at the website, she made sure to answer my questions about things I hadn't figured out yet. She had paid attention to information I provided initially, and she really was focused on my own needs and situation, not just generic stuff. Her help with distinguishing between the types of invoices was just what I needed but didn't know it yet. I'm very excited to be starting with Helcim, and wish all businesses could provide this kind of service. Thank you Ana!

Excellent customer service
Shortly after signing up, I received a phone call asking if I needed any more information regarding the service. I was also given the email and cell number of a merchant success specialist for any future assistance. I am thoroughly impressed with their customer service so far, and have yet to experience such personalized customer service from rival companies.

closed account after one transaction
Account set up months ago did my onboarding then recently ran my first transaction less than $100 they decide to close the account and refunded my client and sent a me an email my account is closed. they do not do proper intake before opening an account. Beware if your in the service industry!!!

The onboarding was easy, efficient, and the team was responsive to questions in a timely manner. I also appreciated the follow-up and reminders of outstanding items. I have not used the software yet but based on the onboarding experience I have high hopes for a positive user experience.

Feedback on Helcim Onboarding Experience
Dear Ana,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my appreciation for the time you dedicated to our onboarding session. However, I would like to share some feedback regarding our experience:
Onboarding Session Duration: It appeared that our session was constrained to fit within a 30-minute window, possibly due to scheduling communications received beforehand. This limited timeframe made the session feel rushed.
Scheduling Delays: After expressing interest in Helcim's services, there was a notable delay before the onboarding session was scheduled. As a prospective client, a more prompt scheduling process would have been appreciated.
Content of Onboarding: The session primarily focused on installing tax settings on the terminal. A more comprehensive overview of Helcim's features and capabilities would have been beneficial.
Technical Difficulties: At the start of our session, approximately 10–15 minutes were spent resolving connection issues. It seemed that onboarding sessions with other clients were occurring simultaneously, which may have contributed to the technical challenges.
Fee Transparency Concerns: During the session, it was mentioned that while Helcim offers lower transaction fees, the option to pass these fees onto clients involves a 3% service fee retained by Helcim. This approach raises concerns about fee transparency and the actual cost benefits for merchants.
Given these points, we have decided to continue with Square for our payment processing needs while we explore other service providers that align more closely with our expectations.

Horrible experience
Horrible experience! Got account all set up and authnorized to start running payments. We ran about $20k in credit card payments over the first few days and then out of the blue, we get a notice from their credit risk department stating thast they were withholding release of the funds to our account. I'm a small law firm, and these payments were prepaid retainers that beliong to the clients, not us. Never were we ever told or explaned that after we starting running payments, we would have to send them a substantial amount of financial documents before they would consider releasing the funds. They justify this because they have a box to click on at the end of the account enrollment for terms and use, and apparently buried in that document gives them this "authority". So we are stuck and cannot work on our clients' cases that have "paid us" because we havent Helcim is refusing to release the funds to us.
