Getting to the hospital i was a bit confused as what was to happen and so forth, due to the language barrier, however Bubu cane to the rescue and explained everything, from the surgery and what to expect after the surgery. The aftercare was not top class mainly contributing to the language barrier. Some stuff really did try to understand and google translate came to the rescue. I would suggest that please come with a companion and ut tends to get a bit lonely. However I would suggest that we would be given information on how to navigate life after the operation, what vitamins to take, exercise plans and so forth. Overall the operation went well for me and I am truly grateful for that. A special thanks to Bubu once more.

The hospital experience was positive. The coordinator, Bubu, was helpful, particularly because he could communicate in English. Unfortunately, the staff members did not include anyone else who spoke English. However, the day staff was mostly supportive. Nightstaff not so much from my experience. The first two days post surgery were really hectic!

The staff were fantastic, the language barrier didn't let it faze th, we used Google translate. We had an amazing time. The hospital was spotless and the giggles were just as good. The after care while in hospital and at home afterwards is still fantastic. Bubu still to this day keeps in contact with me. I'm 6 weeks in and have lost 31kg, 5st or 70lbs depending on where abouts in the world you're reading this. My travel mate felt very welcome too.
The procedure I researched but with any questions I asked were immediately answered by Bubu and Raneen before I left for the procedure. My only regret is that I didn't have it done sooner. Follow all instructions and directions and you will feel amazing.

My Gastric Sleeve Surgery Experience at Hermes Clinic.
I recently had my gastric sleeve surgery at Hermes Clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, and I couldn’t be happier with the overall experience. From the moment I landed, the airport transfer was smooth, professional, and timely, making me feel completely at ease.
Upon arrival at the hospital, I was impressed by how thorough the tests and examinations were before the surgery. They truly make sure your body is ready, and everything is done with precision and care.
A big thank you to Dr. Mohamed and his incredible team for their excellent service, clear explanations, and professionalism. The nurses were fantastic, always available and compassionate, and I felt very well taken care of throughout.
Special mention to BuBu, the translator, who made sure I understood every step of the procedure and answered all my questions with patience and clarity.
I came with a companion, and I truly appreciated how BuBu made sure he was well taken care of too helping him explore the area, suggesting shops near the hospital, and ensuring he felt included in the experience.
The dietitian was also amazing, going through my weight, body composition, and helping set realistic goals while offering continuous support after surgery.
Overall, I would rate my experience a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended for anyone considering this journey!

Bubu made my experience so very good... My medical consultant always available on the phone to help me. I am so so happy with my surgery and how good it went. I personally think Bubu needs promotion 🙏🙏🙏

Disgusting aftercare , ignored for days, quick enough to take your money but after that you are an after thought! Avoid at all costs!

A year on from my gastric sleeve and couldn't fault Hermes. At the end of a message if I had a question. I have lost over 6 stone now and looking to use Hermes next year for a breast augmentation

I would like to express my gratitude to the Hermes Clinic team for the outstanding service. The team was helpful from the onset, when i first reached out to enquire about the procedure, to booking flights from SA to Instanbul. Every single detail was laid out which showed how transparent the clinic is and that gave me confidence to continue with the procedure. Upon arriving in Instanbul, my husband and I were fetched from the airport by a shuttle that was very easy to locate. We were booked into a hotel for the first night and went to hospital the next day. The clinic staff was friendly and accommodative and the procedure was done in a couple of hours and I continued staying at the hospital for a few more days where the clinic staff ensured that I was recovering well from the surgery. When it was time to go back to SA, a shuttle was organised to take us to the airport and an information brochure with the aftercare package. My overall experience with Hermes Clinic was excellent, I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a gastric sleeve surgery.

My experience was lovely, from consultation to airport transfer and being received at the hospital. They were swift with everything and ensured that everything was absolutely safe after my surgery. A little language barrier but everyone I interacted with was patient and efficient at their job. I also think they need to improve on their after care process, like recommending what meds to take moving forward, multivitamins etc . Or what do incase something happens or a likely effects of the surgery should occur.

From first contacting Hermes clinic there quick response was second to non, that response continued throughout my journey and still contues today.
The hospital were very welcoming when I arrived on the 27.03.2025 with no delays all tests were carried out immediately after arriving.
I was sleeved on the 28.03.2025 communication was amazing they told me everything I needed to know from start to finish, when returning back to the ward staff made sure I were comfortable while also checking my observations.
I were discharged on on 01.04.2025 to a 5* hotel it was absolutely beautiful the following morning I was picked up and taken to the Airport in a VIP mini bus I was dropped off at the doors were I waited for my return flight.
Hermes are still contacting me today asking how I'm getting on and providing me with after care.
My experience was 10/10 and if asked if I'd use them again or recommend a friend I definitely would.

I booked to have a gastric sleeve with Hermes.
Hermes appeared to have a good reputation online and going through their social media the Clinic/Hospital looked absolutely beautiful.

When I arrived at the hospital, I was extremely taken back. There were people everywhere and the hospital itself had very little organisation. I spoke to a woman on reception who then contacted the clinic which was on a ward upstairs - this was not what I expected at all.
I was feeling hopeful that there would be a difference, Upstairs.

We were greeted by two translators that work for the Clinic and taken Upstairs to a waiting area as our rooms were not ready yet.

We were spoken to by a man called BooBoo. He stated that he was the Clinic manager.

He went through the procedure with us and told us what to expect - this was completely watered down, I had done a lot of research and I have friends that have had bariatric surgery so I was fully prepared and knew what to expect but I felt that others in the room did not And why not given the correct informative information.

We were then shown to our rooms, The room itself did not look very clinical, with fabric and net curtains.

I was taken downstairs to have my bloods taken and a chest x-ray carried out. The wallpaper in the hospital was peeling off and there is damp patches all over the walls.

I felt that the tests carried out were adequate to what was required and the staff carrying out the tests despite the language barrier were all lovely.

Some of the nursing staff have very little empathy and have a ‘do not care’ attitude.
I only found two of the nursing staff to have adequate empathy and people skills.

The first night after my operation, I was ringing my bell for over one hour as my IV line had filled with blood. Not one person came.
I came out into the corridor and the nurse on shift was sat at the reception scrolling on her phone. She hardly even lifted her head to acknowledge that I was there.

On our second day at the Clinic, I informed the staff of a leak in my bathroom. The leak was also outside my bedroom door and in the corridor. This leak resulted in them having to put buckets in the corridor.
Again, not very aesthetically pleasing.

On our final day, we were told that we would be discharged at 12 to be taken to the hotel.
I requested for some waterproof dressings so that I could shower as I had not been able to do so for four days. There was no hot water due to this leak.
Just before 12 o’clock, we were rushed downstairs to have a final scan.
I came back upstairs after my scan and asked for my cannula to be removed. One of the translators asked me if she could take it out. I looked around and there was no Nursing staff available. I was apprehensive but knew that if I had to wait, it would delay my departure even more, having Nursing experience I was happy for her to do this with my direction. I did have to tell her to put gloves on before proceeding.

14:00 the day of departure and we were still awaiting our transfer to the hotel as we were heading out the door I was stopped and asked to wait to speak to BooBoo.

Boo-boo came and was fishing for compliments of the clinic - every other person that had left before us had complained but I kept quiet throughout our stay as I knew it would fall on deaf ears.
When he came and asked about the compliments, I told him there was not many compliments but more feedback where they could improve their service. He completely disregarded anything I said.

I am extremely happy with the operation that was carried out by the surgeon, they definitely need to be more transparent. The medication for after we all received, but were told different instructions.

The hospital needs to be shown on social media so people are not shocked.

The care coordinators/translators are what makes this company work if it wasn’t for them I dread to think.

My experience was nothing short of amazing! What made the experience great was the constant communication from the beginning when I had my consultation to the aftercare once I returned home. There was always someone that I can reach whenever I needed. Everything happened exactly as I was told it would happen and everything was effortless and seamless (pick up from the airport then to the hospital, transport to the hotel after surgery, transport back to airport to go home all went off without a hitch). Coming from the states I was extremely nervous and wasn’t sure if I was going to regret my decision. I must say Hermes Clinic has surpassed my expectations. Thank you to the amazing staff, including nurses, translators, case managers. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone I know.

My experience with Hermes Clinic
Was exceptional well. The team were organised I had no issues from the time I arrived the transport was on time to arriving to the hospital. My room was ready, testing were done . . The dietitian, surgeon, anesthesia, and nurses were kind and explained the producer step by step. The cleaning stuff was kind and helpful if need assistance.

After 12 years of pain and searching finally I found somebody to sort out my dental problem ...

My experience with Hermes has been amazing. From day one till the last day. They take care of you from the day you arrive at the airport. I was taken care of pre and post the surgery. Dr Zafer and the nurses attended to me daily to check up on me. Everyone at Hermes has so been so kind and helpful. Their medical team is the best. I felt safe and reassured througout the process and here I al 7 days later recovering well.
