Hero Forge Avis 103

Ordered a mini and what I thought were villager minis. Turns out one is for digital download. I spent time painting it using the online tool. But apparently that is just for show so when I ordered it it came un painted. Super misleading. But hey it's my fault I'm the dumb customer, no refunds. No problem. No sales from me ever again.

The miniature was (is) awesome. It looked just like I wanted it to and it felt sturdy. Perfect!
It fell on a hardwood table and broke. The fall wasn't high yet it did brake. A 7 or 8 inch fall tops. It fell out of hand while rearranging a table.
They're quite fragile. Be careful with them. They're different than other minis.
Either way, I contacted HeroForge and it all worked out! I'm definitely satisfied with their customer service. The product and hasty response is why I give them 5 stars. I support Hero Forge and have other orders in the making.

Took over a month to ship. Over €50 for an unpainted mini that was less than 10mm tall on a 25mm base (a winged cat). Detail is decent, about on par with an average 3d printer, but when I heard what my girlfriend paid for it, I was shocked. What a price-gouging company they are

Poor customer service. Very long shipping times. No refunds. Avoid.

Hot garbage. Came Broken twice. Faded colors. Waste of time and money. I want my money back. 100+ bucks for broken useless minis. Got my 11 yr old into a PF2e campaign. We thought it would cool to get some custom minis for our campaign.
Both arrived broken a few weeks ago. Just got my replacement, yup, broken. We will do an unboxing video on his later today. See if we get the Quatro of broken.
Over 100 bucks for trash.

A very disappointing experience.

I've never ordered an actual mini from Hero Forge, but I used to use it to flesh out an early design for characters in my online DND games. It's a really powerful tool for that, which is why I'm giving 2 stars and not 1.

I bought the year long subscription a year ago thinking I would use it a lot, but after my games fell apart, I wound up not using it much at all. Fast forward to now, I get billed for my subscription again because it auto-renews. This was not something I could afford right now, nor did I even want to renew my subscription, so I reached out asking to be refunded. I was offered an account credit for the money for me to purchase something else from them "as a courtesy", but I wouldn't allowed to re-subscribe for another year.

I understand the "no refunds" policy to an extent, but putting something on auto-renewal and refusing to refund if someone has forgotten to cancel in time is a pretty shoddy business practice. You are essentially banking on people's forgetfulness to make you more money. Sorry to say I will never use this service again.

My friends ordered a miniature for us when we moved overseas, but due to an address error it got lost in the mail. It was presumably sent back but got lost in the mail once more. There was a long time of e-mailing back and forth, and eventually HeroForge decided to reprint them and reship them to us (this time with the right address)! They came out wonderfully, a beautiful token of our tabletop experience given form, and the customer service they delivered and lengths they went through is examplary. Thank you so much!

Had fun designing my own mini for Dungeons and Dragons and ordered a colored plastic version of it. The details are excellent and the printed colors are remarkably true to the ones that I used digitally (much more so than I had expected). Lastly, the production and shipping was fast. So, it was an excellent experience!

I ordered my first Hero Forge mini in July 2022. When it arrived I thought it looked great, although the color was not as vibrant as I thought it was going to be. I was also a little disappointed in the details on the face. I was hoping for more detail there since I had several customization choices for the face during the design process. In the end, even with a magnifying glass, there was not much detail in the face.
That said, I loved the miniature upon arrival and it did look good.
After playing with it for a couple sessions the color seemed to get duller. I realized I probably should have sprayed it with my Citadel varnish to preserve it a bit better. Not something I thought I would need to do for a $60 miniature.
Over the life of the mini the color only faded a bit more, so I was the only one that really noticed it.
At this point I was still very happy with the miniature.
Unfortunately that did not last. A month after getting the miniature it fell off my gaming table onto my vinyl plank floor. The sword broke off and was difficult to repair.
At this point I was extra diligent when using the miniature as I realized it was very fragile.
Unfortunately last weekend (December 17 2022), it fell again onto the floor. This time the glaive broke off, the sword popped off again, and both the legs snapped off the base.
I threw the miniature away and will not order from Hero Forge again.
In the end the miniature was just too fragile, I can paint cheaper miniatures so they look decent and use them without worrying if it will break when used.

I used to be a big fan of hero forge because their regular minis were pretty solid, and the custom designs were great. As a backer of the Kickstarter for the color, printed minis, I wanted to believe they would be as good. Unfortunately, after two separate orders, the quality is just nonexistent. There's no detail in the facial features, or other parts of the mini, and the colors don't match the rendering at all, and sometimes are even nonexistent. I contacted hero forge to explain to them how horrible their product was and they told me that that's just the way that it is. For 55+ dollars. You should be getting much more than you're getting out of this color printed mini. Just Don't do it. Buy regular mini and paint yourself, you'll be much happier with the result. Hero forge. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Will not be shopping for here again.
I spent 52 dollars on a cheaply made, dull colored, very very fragile piece.
Broke both my axes off in its first D&D session from having a pen drop on it…..

I think that the full color custom plastic miniatures used to be like $24.99 and about $30 with shipping and everything. Now it's almost $60 with shipping and everything. This isn't inflation. Inflation wasn't 100% and isn't 100% - it's greed. pure unadulterated greed.

Extremely disappointed with the quality of the mini. The paint job was faded and sloppy. It was so bad I repainted the mini myself. The print quality of the plastic is horrendous. I've bought custom 3d models from other companies and I've NEVER seen this kind of crap quality before. My figure is covered in print lines giving it a blurry look.

To make matters worse, they responded with a 10 day return policy... almost 3 weeks after I received the mini. What a worthless company.

Overall a very positive experience. The site is a magnificent creative outlet, and the physical products are very high quality and very high detail when you consider the size. When a damaged product arrived they very quickly got back to me and are working to send a replacement.

I got a figure printed and there was a small print error which if you know 3D printing, happens from time to time. I was outside the 10 day policy for reporting issues for a reprint by months. They still promptly responded to me about the issue and are sending me a free replacement as a one time acception. Now that I know about the 10 day policy I will check each figure more thoroughly right when I get it, but I'm appreciative of them helping me out + their custom products are great.

The colours are wildly off. The metallic and gold plate armour is kinda flesh coloured.

And a piece of the miniature had broken off in transport, and support never responded to that.

A 2/5 star rating is given because I could design a miniature that I couldn't get anywhere else

I absolutely love everything about HeroForge. Let me state that it outright. I bought my first one 6 years ago. But since they've grown, the quality of the plastics has deteriorated. I have my original from 6 years ago and it's fantastic. I bought one a year ago and it's broken twice. If you're looking for one with no color, upgrade to the steel. The detail is the same, but the steel won't shatter when you sneeze on it. If you want color, they do a great job! But be aware that if you drop it not then 6 inches off the ground it will shatter.

Great company, terrible plastic.

Not worth the ridiculous expense. My husband was so excited to make this figure. He meticulously created it for days. Just the right shape, colors, and details. It arrived today. He is very disappointed. $60!! All the effort was for not. The details are non-existent. The color is just gray. The overall expectation was a colorful, detailed figure. He is OK with what he received. He should be thrilled.
They will not get our money again.

Pretty late with this review as I ordered from them a while ago, however, the site is amazing. Their options for character customisation are wild and they are always adding more weapons, armour sets etc.

The perfect place to design a character for miniatures, dioramas, wargaming or D&D. From magic to steampunk they have options.

The printing options are also pretty good. You can choose your material, size and much more.
