Nice website and store but their exchanges and returns policy needs updating and review.
What shop have you ever come across where you not only pay for delivery and return postage (fine that's fairly standard) but you pay a third time to have your exchanged item posted back to you. Absurd I've never ever known anything like it. May aswell buy elsewhere for the the peace of mind if you need to exchange. I will be completely avoiding this store. Communication terrible also, sent an email never responded. Avoid.

I am sorry to hear that you are disappointed with our returns policy.
We have always operated our returns policy this way, it allows us to provide really good sale prices online. We do have to pay for parcels to go out, come back, and go out again so in order to provide you the best price online we charge for the exchange item to be shipped. If we offered free returns and exchanges these costs would have to be absorbed into the prices on our website meaning they would rise and we prefer to keep these as low as possible for our customers.
Our returns policy is visible online so customers can have a look at this before purchasing and make an informed decision on the product.
We do ensure all of our emails are replied to within 48 working hours so I do apologise if you have not heard back from us, I suspect in this case the email has never arrived or the response has been filtered into your junk or spam.
If you would like to email us on customerservice@hopevalleysaddlery.co.uk one of our team will be happy to help you as quickly as possible.

I buy from Hope Valley probably much more than I should and have done for years and always found service to be great. There is an excellent variety of stock within different price ranges. Offers can be amazing and advice is always fantastic.

bad experience
visited shop at Somerford, great shop. Unfortunately customer service was shocking. Felt like you were an inconvenience, especially when purchasing a hat and you needed to try it on as I have afro hair which my be styled in various ways so it has to be adjustable. Must have looked like I was trying to shoplift as the assistant kept following me around asking if they could help. Emailed to share my experience and they can not even be bothered to respond.

I was struggling to find specific jods for a present
I was struggling to find specific Holland Cooper riding leggings for my daughter's birthday..... Even HC had sold out! I phone Hope Valley Saddlery, and they said the had ONE pair on their system.... they double checked by phone to the branch for me.... and only 2 days later I had them in my possession, wrapped and ready !!!! Total 5* service.... I'm so pleased - thank you for going above and beyond !!! Will defo use you again !!!

Fantastic Customer Service
Fantastic Customer Service! I had a problem with a zip on a pocket of a recent jacket purchase which would not budge. The young man, in Customer Services could not have been more helpful and personally ensured that the last available replacement was stored under his desk until they’d received my returned jacket. He clearly went out of his way to make sure I had a replacement for the jacket that I’d ordered and kept me informed throughout the process. He was extremely polite, courteous and definitely went the extra mile. A shining example of Customer Service . Thank you Hope Valley Saddlery!

I cannot fault the customer service. They respond quickly by email and answer the phone if you need to call. Any queries have been easily resolved etc. by friendly and courteous people. I have had a few orders now and will definitely buy from this company again

Hello, i bought a Parka form Ariat. Then three weeks later, PayPal inform me, that the Hope Valley send the Money Back. Without any word why. And the Money wasn't komplett. Whats that? No kumunication , Not real payments. Realy Bad. After some Mails , there was nothing solution for me. I have paid 7, 22 Euro for noting. Be carefully, I have learnt the lession. Please excuse my english, I am Not a native speaker.

Now I have received more of your information I have been able to track down your order and work out what was wrong.
Firstly I do apologise if you feel that the service you have received from us was substandard. We take deep pride in our service and keeping in contact with customers throughout their orders and therefore reading your review was a bit of a shock.
I have checked the notes on the order and I can see we tried to contact you 3 times by email regarding an issue with the shipping destination on the order, we emailed you on the 17th January, the 26th January and then as we had not heard back we emailed you on the 28th January to say we were refunding the order in full for you because we had not heard back from our original email, by this time it had been over 21 days since the order and once we have surpassed the 21 days we prefer to issue a refund if we have not heard back to ensure we aren't holding onto customers funds.
All of these emails were sent to the email you provided on the order.
We had tried our hardest to get in touch with you, however we cannot call international phone numbers from our phone lines and so our only option was to email you.
I again do apologise if you did not receive this contact from us but I can assure you we tried our hardest to get in touch and made the decision to refund you as we hadn't heard back and it had been over 21 days since the order.
I hope this response provides some clarity for you on the order and why the refund was processed, and if there is anything else I can help with please feel free to get in touch on customerservice@hopevalleysaddlery.co.uk and a member of the team will be happy to assist.

Ordered 2 liners in 2 different sizes one in stock one being sourced they kept in contact and after a few weeks informed me one wasn’t going to arrive that quickly did I was the 4ft9 one sent to keep my pony warm while waiting !!! Lovely service lots of emails .

Really poor customer service
Returned an item and after much difficulty paid additional postage. That was four weeks ago. Nothing received and no communication. Pretty appalling and would not recommend. Seems like I’m not the only one with almost a third of their reviews being one star!!

Excellent order service & fast Delivery
Ordered my friends daughter a jacket and it was too small, so ordered a replacement on Saturday December 21st, wanted her to get it in time for Christmas, I couldn’t believe it when DPD messaged me on Christmas Eve and delivered it at 3pm! Enough time to wrap it and deliver in time for Christmas! It made a little girl very Happy. Excellent service, great company ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered a rug to collect from Buxton. With it being busy with Christmas orders, and the Advent Calendar sale going on, I expected collection to be the full 5 days as stated. It was ready within 2 days! First class communication and service.
