A good first impression

I am just starting out using HostHatch, asked a question and got an immediate, friendly and actionable response. Couldn't be a better start.

I would ignore those 1 star reviews as it takes two to have a pleasant experience.

I am happy customer since 2011

I am happy customer since 2011. Tried dozens of VPS from several hostings as I am LowEndTalk user. And HostHatch is one and only service that I can describe: solid, fast and fair priced. Running several services like TeamSpeak, game server, proxy with hassle free. Thank you HostHatch! :)

Happy experience with Hosthatch.

I have been using a Hosthatch vps for a month now and have only good things to say about them.
I got one of there special deals they promote on lowendtalk.
The service has been excellent with good disk speed. The shared cpu's have only had light usage.
For the price i don't see how you could do any better.
To be honest i haven't had to use there customer support yet and from other reviews i have read it might be questionable.

Much bang for one's buck

I moved my VPS from a major hosting company to HostHatch a few weeks ago. My site receives 20-30k users/month (according to Google Analytics) plus search engines and malicious bots, so performance was crucial. I compared a variety of hosts but found HostHatch to give the most bang for the buck. Their in-house made hosting panel is easy to use. I had one support ticket about opening the mail port, which they literally did in less than two minutes. The site has been performing flawlessly since the start.

Very very poor support.

Very very poor support.

We ordered 20 servers and tried to use the API, they provided the API keys but the API never worked and returned 500 all the time. No more response after asking for help. Beside the servers in New York and some other locations were overcommitted too much to hold our workload.

The bandwidth was counted both ingress and egress. No support when we asking for more traffic for a better price.

So tried not to use them.

Our API was in beta at the time you signed up, and our bandwidth is indeed counted both ingress and egress. Both of these things were communicated to you before you signed up with us.

We have a number of benchmarks available online, and we perform better than most public cloud providers out there. We would greatly appreciate if you can share the benchmarks of the "overcommited" resources that you saw on our platform.

Hello, you opened a request with us, using words like "Fake bait and switch refund policy. Seen it before".

We provide a very transparent 7 days refund policy, and we stand by it. We do not have any hidden policies anywhere, and are not able to provide a full refund for services that are used for 28 days already.

Refused to refund

I'm very disappointed by the customer service provided by hosthatch. I requested a refund for 2 vps because I don't need their service anymore. I forgot that they automatically charged if it's near the due date. According to their Terms of service you are allowed to request a refund withing 7 days if you have a valid reason. It's only been a couple hours since the payment and I already requested for a refund and to this day there are still no answer at all.

The other odd thing is that the second server which I PAID didn't even show up in the server section. I assumed it's deleted because of bug/other reason. I don't recommend using Hosthatch if you have important stuff or need support.

Hello. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with us.

We do indeed provide refunds according to our 7 days refund policy. However this applies to new services, and it does not apply to renewals.

If you do not need a service anymore, you can cancel it - it takes less than 60 seconds to do so.

I used them 3-4 months

I used them 3-4 months, all ok, suddenly they shutdown the server saying it wasn't paid while with 3 days ago I topped the credits there.
Wrote to support, no answer.
Do not use them if you have critical stuff or you might need support

Hello,

As a business, we require payment to provide services. If your service is unpaid for 3 days, it goes to 'suspended' status. You can still pay the invoice at this time to restore service.

Very terrible customer support

Very terrible customer support. No respond at all and they are ignoring me.

My server has been offline and I can't turn it on since 2th of november. I opened a ticket and waited for a couple of days and I got no reply at all. Since the expiration date is almost due. I opened a few tickets again explaining the issue more detailed and why it's urgent. Still no reply.

All of my clients data are inside that server and since the expiration date is tomorrow I can't really do much because I can't even acces the service which I PAID.

They have great servers but the support is so bad. If they don't resolve my issue until my expiration date. I will never go back to HostHatch again.

1-star Customer Service

Condescending Customer Service. Provider is not courteous nor kind and I would stay away. For the money they ask, they sure could train their associates to be a bit more customer-friendly. Overall, terrible sales experience and I would advise anybody who is thinking about this service to find another one - there are plenty out there for same or even less who (1) will offer you better upstream (2) better customer service (3) better bang for your buck.
And if you did purchase them, I'd look into submitting a Paypal dispute if you're still within the time-frame and save yourself a headache.

I am not sure what you mean by "filing a dispute" since you have never really made any payments to us. I am also not sure how well this strategy has worked for you.

I can see that you shared the same review on BBB and Google too, but anyone reading the review should be able to clearly see the reasoning behind it.

Performance, pricing, support

I have been using HostHatch for over a year now. During this time, I have utilized VPSs in various locations for different purposes, such as creating game servers and hosting Discord bots.

The only aspect I find less preferable is the shared cores system instead of dedicated cores, but I understand that this is likely the reason for the competitive pricing. For users opting for the cheapest option with 1 vCore and 2GB RAM, shared cores are generally sufficient for hosting websites or Discord bots but do not expect much performance if you host more of these. Currently, I am using their $15 VPS for Rust server hosting, and it performs admirably with 2 dedicated cores and 2 shared cores along with 16GB RAM, making it a good deal in my opinion.

Regarding customer service, it has worked well for me. While not the quickest (taking more than 12 hours), the issues were eventually resolved

Completely Terrible Company

Completely Terrible Company. I was open a ticket to get some discount. After that they blocked my account and replied

"We are not going to provide services to you. If you choose to create more accounts, you might end up in a situation where you lose your money and servers."

What the hell is going on? What the behavior of support? They are not professional in his work. Be carefull before choosing this company

You contacted us with several questions that were promptly answered. You then requested some custom things that we do not normally accomodate. Then you asked for discounts, which we provided you with. Then you asked for even more discounts.

All of this without having ever made a single payment to us. At this point, we made a business decision to not provide you with any services as our services depend on a certain level of automation, and providing you the customizations and discounts that you needed would not be possible for us to do.

Unfriendly support & Scam

Worst support ever.
I had tried with Vultr, D. Ocean, Linode, Amazon, Google. This is the first one which can drive me to write a Trustpilot to express my feeling. Never have saw such of bad service, support is totally wasteful.

The server in the last 3 weeks is fixed totally by myself without any useful support. The IPv6 is still removed till the last day and the ticket got no reply in 3 weeks with status ON HOLD.

Refused to refund. Do not use.

Refused to refund me after their panel was being buggy. Forced to open a dispute via PayPal. Received no support via tickets. Only got a reply on a ticket after I requested a refund and was refused. Have no docs on how to actually use some of the features of their panel. Received no support with issues I was facing. Seems like they don't care about their customers. Will never be using this crappy hosting service ever again.

3 days of inactivity without refund for unavailable days

In July for 3 days the NY Node servers were offline, with no backups available in other Hosthatch environments, the technical support claimed a "fire" in the datacenter, they never gave assistance to those affected. I requested on 2 occasions a partial refund for those days, it has been several weeks with no response. The charge is in advance but they can't even make a credit refund for the 3 days they left their services disconnected.
