The whole experience was smooth and exciting! All the staff polite, helpful friendly and informative. I was confident with this place I booked my appointment a couple weeks straight after my consultation. Through out the procedure they always made sure you were ok and comfortable. Also keeping you well looked after in your breaks. They’re always on the other side of the phone if you need any information. They also have 3,6,9 and 12 month progression checks with you to make sure everything is going smoothly. I had my year review today and even with my hair being so much better there is still more growth to come. The best thing for me is it’s brought back confidence and I can’t thank them enough for such a good job they have done.

The whole process from start to finish has been amazing. HQ hair transplants really do have you and your hair growth in their best interests and they are not pushy at all. Im so happy i chose HQ to grt my hairline and frontal area done. They are so professional and make it easy to get the procedure done.

I first found HQ Hair Transplants on instagram, and after looking at their page I was very impressed and booked an initial consultation with Richard. The online call was really helpful as I was given information regarding medication, procedure recommended and costings. Richard is a gem and was so informative.

After this inital call, I booked a in person meeting to discuss options with my surgeon, Dr Matt Egan. This meeting we discussed grafts needed, medication i must be on before and after surgery and the process of the transplant. An initial hairline was drawn by Dr Frances. I was impressed enough by the meeting that I paid the small deposit and the office manager, Lindsey helped me setup the interest free payments.

I was booked in actually for November but they had a cancellation beforehand so I opted for this to get my surgery done earlier.

On the day i was quite nervous, as expected from any surgery. Once I had entered the reception though, I was greeted by the wonderful Val, who was really friendly and put my nerves at ease. I spent about an hour with Val going through forms and getting into the gown and ready for the surgery.

After this, Dr Egan and Dr Frances walked in started to draw the hairline and i was happy with the first one they had drawn. After this I got the buzz cut for the surgey, it was odd seeing my head shaved for the first time.
One good point to note is that you get your own room next to the operating room and it's got a toilet and this is the room you will go to for breaks. I was really impressed with the setup.

Once this was all done, I was brought into the procedure room. There's a massive tv with Netflix and YouTube etc and the first few hours of the day was spent doing the incisions at the hairline. One very important note is that the surgeon alone does the incision and extractions, which means they are done to a very high standard. The injections were a bit uncomfortable but expected.

After a short food break provided by thr clinic, I was back on the bed this time for extractions. If I'm honest the injections were quite painful but I have a very low pain tolerance and not everyone will experience this. It only lasts 1 or 2 minutes and your head is completely numb after that so don't think about it too much if you're thinking of getting a transplant.

The extractions took about 2 and half hours as the surgeon is careful not to transect the grafts.

After a lunch break I was back in for the implantation of the grafts. This was the longest part of the day. The very skilled technicians sorted through all 3000 of my grafts and by hand impacts every one. They're an amazing team and made me feel very comfortable throughout. I'm confident that I'll get the results I invision due to the surgeons and the fantastic technicians that went above and beyond. At one point Dr Fran even brought me a blanket because I was feeling cold, which is amazing.

After the surgery, Dr Frances talked me through aftercare and gave me the HQ goodie bag with everything you need.

The first night was a bit uncomfortable as I kept waking up but didn't feel any pain, just a sore head, and remember I said I had a low pain tolerance. The next 6 days were fine from a pain perspective, I didn't take any painkillers, if fact I returned to WFH the day after the procedure and only took 1 day off on the day. I would say you need about 10 days off or WFH staying inside for downtime after the procedure. I returned to the office after day 10.

The day after I got a head wash and bandage removal which was nice. The scars look so minimal on the donor area. You have to keep the head tape on the forehead for a few days to prevent swelling. I only got slight swelling around the ears but nothing much.

After 1 week I got my scabs removed which was much needed as it started to get very itchy the days before. Once the scabs are removed it just looks like you had a buzz cut and never had any recession in the first place.

Im only 5 weeks in now but I'm almost finished with the shedding phase and looking forward to growth.

The big question you might have is why not go to a place in turkey for instance. Well after doing research I'm glad I didn't. Most clinics in turkey do over 10 patients a day with different teams, you are unlikely to get a consistent result, so these place are called hair Mills.

At HQ, you are the only patient. That's the surgeon, along with over 6 technicians just working on you.
At some hair Mills, the technicians only do the procedure, not to say technicians can't do this but this must be done a bit surgeon. The technicians at HQ are very skilled and do the implantation.

I'm very happy with the experience I got at HQ and look forward to seeing the results. Highly recommend this clinic.

HQ look after you extremely well, the planning and time to discuss, the after care and the ongoing attention makes you feel very safe and cared for, I really have appreciated their efforts.

I honestly couldn't recommend Head Quarters enough. Linsey was available to answer any queries and also assisted with booking the hotel, which made the experience effortless as we were travelling from Ireland. The morning of the procedure I had a meeting with Dr. Matt where he designed my ideal hairline to look as natural as possible. The first few hours, the.dedicated team created incisions in the scalp. We paused l for a short break before completing the second step, which is the extraction of the hair grafts. The positioning can be testing but the team was attentive to my needs and would stop to allow me to get comfortable. We then stopped for a 45-minute lunch break where I was provided with a light lunch .The last step is the implantation. This was the most difficult part of the procedure, however Dr. Matt and team managed the pain expertly well. All in,I was in and out after 8 hours. The after care I received was first class - saline solution, medication and travel pillow - the most I had to think about was dinner. The team as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I am 10 weeks post transplant, and I can already see brilliant results. The key selling point for me personally is that this was a really important step for me to take, and I really felt the clinic cared about what they do, and that's getting the best results possible - I was absolutely not a number . I could not fault them.

Deciding to have a hair transplant was big decision for me, but I have to say from the moment I first walked through the doors at Head Quarters I knew I'd made the right decision.

All the staff there are super friendly and professional, it really does put you at ease and reassure you, from my first consultation to my second head wash the staff have been first class, and I'm really looking forward to going back for my 3 month post surgery examination.

HQ was recommended to me for a hair transplant by someone who had theirs done 18 months ago, so I could already see the excellent results which looked very natural. After a consultation I went for an FUE procedure. I was anxious prior to the procedure but once there was looked after and made to feel at ease. The procedure was pain free and professionally carried out by Dr Matt Egan and the team. The aftercare has been great, with all my questions answered promptly which has been really helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who maybe considering it themselves.

Being in the hair industry myself I did a lot of homework before deciding to use HQ in Cardiff . I have met quite a few people who have been through this procedure and it’s something you really do want to get right first time . Having seen a few horror stories about things going wrong abroad (not naming any countries) doing this at a cut price, which you can often tell (from the hairline ect). Plus there is no after care service or back up .
The whole experience was pleasant and stress free, the staff were professional, respectful and informative .
The process doesn’t hurt, some parts I actually fell asleep. The recovery was very easy with no real discomfort.
It has only been six weeks for now and can’t wait for the end result.

I was initially quite apprehensive about getting the treatment and did a lot of shopping around and research, what stood out for me with HQ was that at no point did I ever feel any pressure or sales pitch before choosing them.

From the moment I had my first video consultation I felt totally at ease, the conversations were informative, friendly and professional with honest analysis on preventative actions and appropriate care.

After meeting the doctor I was sold on my decision to go with HQ, the doctor went into detail of the procedure as well the importance of creating a natural hairline. After taking some time the doctor advised me to go away and give some thought into my decision and at no point pushed the process, this gave me the reassurance I needed that I was choosing the right people for the surgery.
