I joined and paid Match.com when I was visiting the USA. I have since returned to UK and am tryimg to login to no avail. I cannot access even to cancel my subscriptiom which is paid up for 5 further months. Useless app, full of promises it does not deliver. I will obviously need to take legal steps to avoid being charged further.

I have just spent the last half hour trying to cancel my subscription and my account details. Why should this be so flaming difficult?

I can't even find a contact for customer service, if anyone had one I'll be delighted to hear from them how to make contact.
Trying to do this on the laptop is impossible because Match.com is considered a spam site and is blocked! What now Match.com??

In a year I had maybe 30 people match with me. Only one talked to me for five minutes. Then when my year was up, wow I get like four likes a day and asks to come back at 50 percent off, just seems kinda WALMARTY.

At the time of writing: There are some anomalies on this dating site, but you will find anomalies with other dating sites too. Firstly, when you have set up your account before you actually pay them money, you see on your dashboard what appears to be enormous activity with likes and views on your account. This slows down to almost nothing after you pay them with curiosity seekers and plain nosy people who are just having a look. Intriguingly, you can also see a lot of people on there who are on a litany of dating sites as well with no luck apparently pairing off with anybody... Then, the site administrators are telling people in pop-up messages "not to push", and other dating instructions which can be interpreted as place where there is not a lot of activity, or people need help getting from non-stop messaging to actual dating. Many of course will not reply at all and simply ignore you, despite sending you likes....? As far as I am concerned Match.com its a chronic timewasters club from what I can see, and this is true of most or all dating sites. There is apparently hundreds of people on Match.com in your area, but they are there for very, very, long periods and become the wall paper, (as they do on other dating sites). There like stool pigeons there to draw other people to the site and get them to subscribe. From my own personal experience, the people on there seem to be more interested in endless inane or deceptive correspondence than anything else. They may also want something to do while the have down-time in the office — with you picture on their screen in there office! Or, passing the time away generally. Some may request that you download certain apps so they can text you which makes some people suspicious, even though they can message on Match.com — but can be very reluctant to talk and then get nasty when you try to bring things forward. Many are playing patience games and really want power, control, and authority. I have found a not too small number of them going through divorces and separations who are still technically married and rate themselves as fully single. Remember: if you are going to try it, you (cannot) cancel your subscription (auto renewal for some number of days), then you can. However, if you don't within the window for cancellation, they will start all over again as per their terms. If you cancel the account altogether, they will take the (full) amount for the contractual period — notwithstanding you have not used it, but just want to cancel because you are sick of the nonsense and timewasters. What ever you do, go through PayPal where you have some control on auto renewals and disputes about services provided. I do not think the 14 day cancellation rule applies to Match.ie but you can check. And check their rules and regulations regarding payment thoroughly, so their are no surprises and contact customer service if you have any doubts. The only good thing I can see about Match.com, is that they don't send you endless spam advertising mail like other dating sites if you opt out. This review is what I experienced and my opinion of Match.ie. Your experience and interpretation might be different. P.S. Dating sites are not the only way to date people!

I was a paid member on Match.com. This allowed me to see who read my emails. What I hated the most about this site is that if you send an email to an unpaid subscriber, she isn't able to read it. So if I send 10 emails to 10 different members, it will read "unread." But there is no way to tell if the woman is an unpaid subscriber or a paid subscriber who hasn't read it.

I chatted with a few women and they all told me the same thing. They get flooded with emails from men wanting to meet them. It's an overwhelming experience. One woman said she didn't go on the site for several days and when she went back on she had over 100 emails. She clicked, "Select All" and deleted them all.

One woman told me she is on the site just for an ego booster. She loves the attention and validation that the men give her. She has no intention of meeting anyone. I bet there are a lot of women on that site who do this.

Conversely, the women I've chatted with have a lot of complaints about the men.

Terrible experience using this site, which is designed to try to tempt you to subscribe and so is frustrating to use. I had a problem with the functionality of the site and my query to customer support was met with a 'cut and paste' auto reply that didn't answer the question, and my attempt to reply just got my profile deleted. Not worth the effort and best avoided!
