Inventr Avis 

In the past, I've done some online coding tutorials and classes, however I always had difficulty grasping how my code could be used in a practical way. With inventr classes you SEE what your code is doing, which gives you motivation to keep going. Alex is extremely likable and fun to learn with. The only complaint I may have is I have difficulty grasping how some of the code works. I love the course so much, I just have to give it 5 stars regardless.

Kit was slightly damaged in shipping. Nothing was cushioning the contents. With work, I am yet to get all of the pieces out, but I'm looking forward to it! The price is very reasonable.

This kit has been awesome and I am loving doing every single day of it! This kit is preparing me to major in Electrical and Computer Engineering so I cannot wait to see how this background knowledge will benefit me.

This is an awesome value! This was enough to get me back into my electronics hobby with benefits...CODING!! I have not been this happy for a long time. The parts are high quality and everything was there. Not only do you get the kit, you get a series of classes teaching you what you need to get started coding. There is a team of people who are there for you, should you get stuck or want help with a personal project. They are very friendly and happy to assist in any way they can. You can also get several free projects via email. All of this at no extra cost! Once you buy the kit, a free education is there if you want. This is for everyone, whether you are beginning an electronics career or just as a hobby at home. I would definitely suggest taking advantage of this opportunity!

This is a great starter kit for getting into Arduino and coding. Not sure what I was expecting to get but once it came and I got into it, it was awesome. Good videos to get you up and going. Can’t wait for more.

This kit is a great concept and I love the idea behind it, but the actual products in the kit do not match the price tag. The plastic case that it comes in is too small to hold all the pieces correctly, the arduino uno clone board is very low quality and not built very well. The breadboard that's included isn't built well and doesn't have good connectivity work the includes parts. Over all I spent about $80 on a kit that should have been priced at about half of that.

Purchased the Lost in Space Kit and had some issues. But the support team at Inventr was responsive and helpful and helped me work through it. Now enjoying the adventure very much!

I really love this product. I am always looking for things to tinker with and I constantly find myself looking for ways to do more and more with these gadgets.

This is a great kit for kids to learn the basics. The videos go in to just enough detail so they learn, but aren't overwhelmed. The box for the kit itself is too small for the items in it. I ended up buying a box for organizing beads and that worked out way better. Overall, a great experience and we'll be purchasing more in the future.

My review is mixed. I love the idea and the product. The kit is amazing, containing all the parts needed to build the lessons laid out for the hobbyist. The lesson plan is good too, taking things slowly, one step at a time. Proceeding in this fashion, I find myself learning new capabilities steadily and capably.

So why not a five star review? At this time, I believe more work is needed to get to a level where the product is truly great. It does not appear that the development, marketing, and management team have ever taken the course. If they had, they would catch all the little things that weaken its effectiveness. Mistakes in the presentation, objects discussed that are not in the camera field of view, mismatches between the video and the displayed code and breadboard, and Alex's numerous errors in his presentation. Alex is very knowledgeable, but he needs coaching to help make the video more effective. I don't know if we are watching the first take, an edited first take, or a second take, but if any of these, there should be another take to present the video in a clear, compelling manner without missing parts, backtracking, and corrections.

Again, good job to the team for the concept and the product. Keep honing your product to make for a pleasurable, instructive experience.

BTW, I am up to Day 11 of the course, so this is an interim review.

Ordered kit from RadioShack. Missing 3 pieces to the kit and getting no response from Inventr.
Can't move past Day 1 in the challenge.

I ordered the 30 Days Lost in Space kit and I absolutely love it. The instructions are excellent, and Alex is a great instructor. Well worth the money if you are willing to put the time in.

I’m having a very hard time finding a driver to install on my Mac mini which will work with the kit board.
Shipping for me took about a month so thank you for the apology.

I love the idea for the project, its an engaging way to learn about connecting your computer to the non-internet. It basically covers the class material of a Sophomore level EE course I took at college in 84.

I did have one problem, the HERO board that came with the kit was dead ( it happens ). Took awhile to debug the problem. Since it seemed like kits were sold out I purchased an UNO board. Same functionality as the HERO but has one feature I think is really nice. There is a clear plastic cover over the back of the board.

All in all I am very happy with the product

The lesson included with the kit have been good, but unfortunately the kit shipped without the correct products included, and so far several of them I've found to be defective. I received an email response saying it would be rectified, but a few weeks later and I haven't heard any update.

Ordered two kits. Received one

When I first saw this kit, it looked promising and fun, but the kit took over 6 weeks to arrive. Once it did arrive, the kit was missing multiple parts including the LEDs, the piezo buzzer and the dip switch. The instructions for getting started on the curriculum are also extremely unclear. I spent well over 3 hours trying to learn how to install drivers on my pc. I would strongly recommend not buying this product.

This is not a child's toy but a teenager could work through this course and learn a lot. As an adult in my 30s I was unsure about buying a kit like this but learning programming and working through the lessons and having to trouble shoot sometimes to get the result I want as well as learning some introductory electrical engineering has been incredibly fun and makes me want to buy more and more advanced kits like this. I could see continuing my efforts and learning enough to lead me into a new career path.

This was a very fun experience and I am very glad I had it.
