Italian for a While Avis 

From the very beginning Italian for a While has been extremely helpful and respectful! They helped me with my entire Visa process, school allocation, and lodging needs. I’m doing an entire year of studying abroad in 2026 and I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a helping hand! I also went on a trip to Venice with them and I had a blast! Annetta helped me with all my onboarding and lifestyle needs, and I had the pleasure to meet Michela and Erica as well who showed my fiancé and I around Venice. Great people who truly care about helping others and showing you a great time!

I have loved my time with Italian for Awhile. I have been trying to move to Italy for some years now and Italian for Awhile has shown me the way! I am very grateful for them and so happy I found them.

My experience with Italianforawhile has been great so far. I found them after I graduated college and was trying to figure out what to do next.

It’s not often that you see a language/immersion program with the amount of customization that IFA has. You can truly tailor your gap experience based on what your needs/wants are, and the staff are there to help you with the logistics to make your dream trip happen. The schools they partner with are excellent, and you really get an authentic immersion experience that makes you feel like a local. I could not have planned an experience like this without the help of IFA, so I am eternally grateful for their guidance and assistance during this entire process (Annetta specifically is great, as well as Michela and Erica).

On a minor note, there were a couple of mixups related to accommodations during my planning process. I found out I needed to change hosts about a month before my arrival, which complicated the residence paperwork process once I arrived for my 6-month stay. While I would have liked to have the updated accommodation paperwork sooner than I did, with Annetta’s help, we were able to rectify the situation without too much trouble. I am about halfway through my first month (at the time of writing), and things have been going smoothly since!

If you want to go abroad or take a gap year/month/week, this is a great company to work with. Even when mixups happen, the staff immediately helps fix them. They truly want the experience to be as smooth as possible for each student. I think this program is one of the best possible ways you could go to Italy, and I recommend it to everyone!

When I began to dream about studying and living in Italy for a while, I magically found Italian for a while. Super smooth experience. Everything from the moment I inquired on line to the unforgettable daily experiences have been amazing. The life Im living has been truly turned into a dream come true and an experience of a lifetime. Not only am I immersed in the language and already speaking and communicating with locals but sharing with people from all over the world. The teachers are patient, kind and really fun. The activities have enriched me and provided a playground for my social media post which I enjoy. My dreams have come true because Italian for a while made it so smooth and easy. Booking my stay, the classes, the excursions. Easy and affordable. I will be back next year to continue adventures and advancing in the beautiful Italian language and landscape. I chose Sestri Levante , which has been paradise on steroids!!! The sunsets, sea, beach, mountains and people are all the treasures I will ever need and want. Did I mention the focaccia and gelato ? Ohhhhh and the cooking class experiences ? I Delicious !! I could go on and on!! The best simply the best!! Annetta , Michi and Ericka are incredible. I’m grateful they made things so smooth for my fabulous experience. ♥️🇮🇹

My experience with Italian for a While has been awesome! Our weekend meet up was thoughtfully planned and full of fun activities. I truly felt like I got to experience Italy as a local, and the highlight was meeting and spending time with fellow students in the program. As a student currently studying in Italy through Italianforawhile (IFA) at the time of writing, I can testify that this is a fantastic program! If you are interested in studying Italian in Italy for a Gap Year experience, IFA is for you!

Basically, they provide you all of the guidance and assistance that you need to turn your dreams of studying abroad into reality. From assistance selecting a location/s within Italy to study, a duration of stay (With options ranging 1 week - 1 year) and acquiring the
Visa (If applicable), to organising accommodation and flights, their assistance doesn't stop once your arrive in Italy. From assistance navigating the Italian bureaucracy (Such as the Permesso di Soggiorno if applicable, etc...), to local advice on the best places to visit during your stay, they are there to ensure you can make the most of your experience! On top of the support, they also organise optional IFA student meet ups, where students involved in the program come together from around the country to explore a specific city/town for a couple of days, providing a great opportunity to meet fellow students and explore different parts of bella Italia!

Overall, I highly recommend IFA because of the level of additional support that they provide to helping you make your Gap Year a reality, but also because of the opportunities they provide to connect with other students and gain a more authentic experience in Italy!

This program is exactly what I was searching for. IFA is a well oiled machine that helped me design my 4 week experience in Italy with frequent and helpful communications, logistical support and assistance. The staff arranged my program with the local language school in Lucca; found an ideal accommodation for me; and coordinated everything with the landlord and the school. IFA invited me to a meet-up in Firenze the weekend I arrived in Italy and I had a fabulous time meeting other students of all ages in the program. Everyone felt welcome and the experience was lots of fun. My Italian language classes are excellent and I hope to improve my skills significantly.

This is the best company for traveling to Italy and feeling like a local. I recommend this to everyone! The staff is so helpful and can fix any hiccup that may come up.

The Italian For a While language program has been an amazing life changing experience for me. Although intensive in nature, I didn’t feel overwhelmed because the instructor team, the field trips, and the overall program is fun and interesting! Within a few short months I’m able to comfortably speak Italian and feel like a local!

The experience has been amazing! From the onboarding, everyone was very helpful and friendly. The teachers are awesome and the people I’ve met have quickly become friends.

I am currently in the program and I am extremely grateful for the entire experience. This is truly the best decision i have made for my life and future and it has only been a few months but i feel like i have grown so much here! The program helped with my visa, accommodation, and documentation here as well. I want to give a special thanks to Annetta, who helped me coordinate the entire process and being from the USA i needed many documents and she made sure i had everything ready and helped even with the process over there to get here! Everyone in this program is so sweet and supportive, it feels like a big family. I have also met so many amazing people from around the world and i think that these people will be forever friends that i stay in touch with, which will be amazing for travel! I just can't even express what a wonderful time I'm having in Napoli, there's no city like it. The people are very kind and welcoming and it's very easy to meet people and make friends from all over the world. Besides that I've been working with Annetta as my main go-to person while I'm here and she has just gone above and beyond in making sure that everything goes smoothly. I also got to meet Michi at a meetup recently and she is just as nice and friendly. If you're on the fence about coming to Italy, just go for it. It's an amazing experience and I cannot recommend Italian for a While enough.

Last Thursday Michela made a trip to meet with me and other students. She is so nice and easy to talk to. It was also reassuring to meet someone from Italian For Awhile in person. I'm looking forward to spending more time in Napoli and improving my Italian 🙂

Location, location, location.....
You know the story, location is important.

In this moment, October 2024, I'm studing Italian in Stestri Levante. A place between 5-terre & Portofino. In this nice village you will find al nice bars, restaurants, stores and great places to see within arms length.
School is great too, the spot with view over the bay is incredibble.
To be honest, I'm not the best student, I have issues with learning a language but teachers are experienced and with patience I'm moving step by step.

Sure a consideration to go here if you want to learn Italian.
