Italian for a While Avis 

My experience with Italian for a While was truly remarkable. I collaborated closely with Annetta and Michela to design a personalized journey tailored to my preferences. After a few video calls, we pinpointed the best location and timing for my trip to Italy. They maintained regular contact throughout my stay and afterwards, ensuring everything went smoothly. The result? Beautiful memories, lasting friendships, and a newfound language that I will cherish for a lifetime!

I really enjoyed the Italian classes and think I made a lot of progress the month that I was there. Once settled in I enjoyed the time that I spent in Italy and the people I met. The location I stayed at was great and the location of the school was in a good location in Genoa. Moreover, the organisation was easy to contact and communicate with. However there were multiple complications before and when I had arrived. The accommodation I was staying in changed a couple of days before I was arriving and to a different accommodation type that I had not asked for. This change was never fixed even when I expressed concern. Additionally, the location of the school was only shared with me the day before school started and after I had asked for it as there had been no communication that the name of the school differed from the name of the organisation. Moreover, I was assured that there would be lots of other people my age (18) but once I had arrived I found there were only 3 and everyone else was my senior by at least 10 years. The school in itself doesn’t do much to intermingle the classes and unless you go out of your way to search for people in the halls it’s hard to meet people from other classes. Additionally, when I had arrived the school said I had to do a test to determine my skill level, no such test ever took place and I was placed in the bottom class even though the school was made aware of my previous experience of Italian. Finally, I had asked for a location with a good train connection so that I could easily visit other areas in Italy, and I was assured Genoa was the right fit, however once there I found that to get anyway but Milan would take around 4 hours to reach.

Italian for a While community has been caring, helpful and friendly since day 1, via google meet video calls, planning out my journey through cities and schools and making sure i've got all the necessary documents. I had some visa issues at first, but in the end, everything turned out to be great, since it was my long-term unfulfilled dream to have a genuine experience in Italy. If you love the language and you dream of having an unforgettable journey-the right way-Italian way, i certainly recommend getting in touch with Italian for a while's team!

Hi) I have used the service of Italian for a While in October 2023 and spent 1week in Lucca, Italy. Before my trip I got help from Brian (thank you again) who was very patient with all my questions )) I stayed at apartment in Lucca, very sweet and kind signora Antonella, I will never forget her delicious breakfast and dinners ;* I had everyday lessons in local language school which was located right in old city inside the wall. This experience was truly valuable for me, again proved that l'Italia è un grande amore!!! Grazie mille per tutto!!!

I am currently enjoying a 4 week stay in Rome studying Italian thanks to the wonderful team at Italianforawhile. Given my naturally reserved nature, I needed to immerse myself in a dynamic and practical community to achieve my goal of speaking Italian. Thanks to Italian for a While and its collaboration with Accademia Italiana, I had the opportunity to experience the wonderful Neapolitan region in a unique way.
Studying Italian in Naples allowed me not only to learn the language but also to immerse myself in Italian culture through organized activities, the knowledge of the teachers, and the time spent, alone or in groups, exploring the city and its surroundings.
