Great gym plenty of equipment available does get a little busy at peak hours as expected but early morning or late evening is spot on

I really like the new glute area offering more equipment besides traditional machines you’d find in any other gym. Hybrid area is great too for CrossFit. On the downside, it gets busy with lots of hog... Voir plus

I’ve been a member of jd Barnsley since it opened day one.I froze my membership because of an operation because the operation was complicated I was off longer than I thought I would so jd cancelled my membership and now the price has gone up,but it was really easy to make a new member and I’m glad to be back,👍🙏🏼

This gym went from having the worst car…
This gym went from having the worst car park a gym could have to being the smoothest and best car park a gym could have! Thank you for resurfacing that car park! I no longer have to worry about getting lost in a sinkhole crater in the car park!

Not stress free, a bit rude staff, barcode works one per day then you need to ring bell for help
Ok but since joining the gym my app doesn’t work properly which lets a whole experience down also you can’t scan the barcode more than once per day so not really 24h access as the staff is not in all the time and some of them are really rude. It would be better if they would implement the fobs (even at extra cost) or other way of accessing the gym so you can actually have an access 24h stress free and you would feel that paying over £25 is worth that

If you come back a second time in the same day, please press the green buzzer button near the gates and someone will let you in. The app does only grant entry once per day, but you're welcome to come back as many times as you like, we'll just need to let you in.
If that’s something you do regularly, please speak to the Manager next time you visit, and they can help or drop your gym an email if you can’t see a Manager to speak to - barnsley@jdgyms.co.uk

The gyms ok shocking car park
The gyms ok. Good equipment and all working. Never too busy at the time I go. The car park however is shocking. Nearly lost my teeth on the first visit with the depth of the potholes. Seriously needs fixing ASAP.
Being resurfaced today 18/06/24 changed to 5 stars

JD Car Park
JD is a great gym for training stomach and legs. It also has one of the best outdoor assault courses getting from your car to the front doors over 3ft deep pot holes. Got to love their motto ‘Love your body, f@@! your car.

JD Gym are very good but unfortunately i give 4 stars because carpark outside JD Gym in Barnsley are really bad and need to be doone ASP. Every day battle to not damage my car.

Gym has gone from best in class to…
Gym has gone from best in class to disappointing due to a lack of care and attention, missing pins, inadequate clips are common and some cables are not free running, the changing rooms are not checked regularly enough and there appears to be no cleaning done on a weekend at all, the showers and change area are a real mess by lunchtime! It’s a shame cos this still could be one of the best around if the staff paid more attention.

The gym is pretty decent and well…
The gym is pretty decent and well equipped however it's the condition of the changing rooms that lets it down. They need cleaning a lot more regularly. Toilets are usually a mess and floors always wet through and dirty

The gym facilities are great
The gym facilities are great, lots of equipment and space to work out in private.
The reason for 3 stars is the the car park pot holes!! For a commercial gym I was shocked at how bad they are, some are big and deep enough to cause a lot of damage which I’m sure JD wouldn’t be liable for…

I am currently having the worst time…
I am currently having the worst time ever at JD Gyms Barnsley, after 6 weeks of back and forth emails due to a malfunction with the vending machine (it owes me £21.50) I resorted to contacting Liam Benson the assistant manager of that gym. He replied swiftly for the very first email. Then proceeded to ignore the emails for a further two weeks, I have provided the evidence has asked for and now he has stopped replying altogether.
The gyms treadmills constantly change speeds and are very very dangerous, the roof is leaking, the tiles in the showers are loose, the vending machine charges you and doesn’t dispense any products, the cleaners don’t do their job and the gym is constantly dirty! The weighted machines are all missing pins, the bikes are out of order.
I understand things go wrong but this gym is possibly the worst JD gyms I have ever been to. The staff are awful and are not friendly what so ever, they sit in their little bunch and just talk, they don’t offer any help or assistance.
I am afraid that this will Be my last month using this gym before I go to Everlast as I have just done a trial with Everlast and the extra opportunists available are amazing.
