JD Gyms - Chesterfield Avis 

Since the reopening I can never get on any of the weights I want to use no matter what time I go.

Some people tend to use one piece of equipment and also leave there personal stuff at another ineffectively using 2 lots of equipment and once and nothing gets said by the people working there.

The price has doubled from £9.99 a month to £19.99 and personally cant see what extra you get for it as they have took away some equipment that was doubled up which meant you could actually get them.

This would be a 5 star review but the water has knocked it down to a 3. The water from the tap tastes fine at first then the next day it smells like chlorine. Then a day later if left starts to smell like a sewer. Someone really needs to check this.

Can’t fault this gym. Everything you need under one roof to meet your fitness goals.

Overall very good facility. Good range of equipment. Spacious. Enough weights for anyone! Clean. Definitely not a spit and sawdust type of gym. Some waiting for equipment at peak times. Some pieces of equipment looking tired with signs of wear and tear and could do with a quick reupholster. Only one drinking tap but I think you can purchase drinks from vending machines also? Hard to deferentiate between staff and personal trainers....is there a difference? Staff seem a a little anonymous at times (at least to me) but this may be due to the large size of the gym and number of members. Not really a gym were everyone knows your name if you know what I mean but I guess I am just old school and perhaps that's what you would expect from a large gym? This may also be a benefit to some people? Saying that all the gym goers who I have encountered have been friendly and respectful. There is wide spectrum of clientele from young to old with a full spectrum of body types and interests from general fitness, cross fit, bodybuilding, powerlifting and a wide range of classes for those who enjoy that type of thing! There is also a vast range of CV equipment which I perhaps could do with using a bit more of. Lol. In my experience the atmospheres is generally good, non threatening and good natured and for working out what ever your interest the gym is really very good and at the moment reasonable priced....and I have seen a few gyms in my time!

Gwenny's zumba, and Jordan and Robs JD Burn classes. They certainly make you work. All in all excellent.

Good gym, but disappointed they dont do off peak membership!

The gym is clean, and has plenty of machines and weights available, it would be nice to see some staff on the gym floor rather than in the office. I attend twice a week and the majority of the time the staff are in the office.

Great place to get in shape. Lots of choice, plenty of space & very friendly staff. :-)

Loads of equipment, plenty of space and the functional suite is great. It’s also kept clean by the excellent staff. The only negative is how busy it gets during peak times where you can be hard pressed to find a bench.

Excellent gym, lots of machines to choose from, friendly staff. One minor complaint is the repetition of some song lyrics, most annoying and sometimes way too loud...but then again I am an owd git.😷

This gym is clean modern and has excellent machines and free weight areas, their is always room even in the peak times. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It us very clean and there is always spray and wipes to clean machines.

It’s a great gym, only downside is that it’s so busy!
