JD Gyms - Edinburgh Avis 

Good gym,Well equipped ,24 hours.
Bad bits ,god forgive you if you forget the headphones in the car and you nip out to get them,you will have to beg to get back in..every time! 10 min average before someone bother to open,and if happens at night just go home.
Changing rooms are locked at 10 pm,if you are just new like I am and you dont read every sign..well,they have signs for everything, now they just put one as well for going out the door today,must had been too many people getting locked out .My very first night a week ago I was forced to get the bus home as my car keys were in the locker in the changing room ,the girl working clearly saw us new,crossed path few times,saw us looking about looking for everything for ages as we had no clue where anything was,seen her in the changing room just before 10 pm,yet she clearly did not care,busy to rush with her stuff ,couldn't spare a sec with "hi,you guys lost?you know the changing room closes at 10pm?"nah too much to ask..that night i was locked out the changing room without my car keys and no way to retrieve them until 5 am,i seen many people doing that in the few days i have been,probably new as well,all the staff I saw so far are acting the same,walking ghosts so was not just my unlucky night.
Staff looks to run out the door as fast as possible, walking around like ghosts, not a smile not acknowledge, not even when you cross paths..I think this gym just forgot customer service, provide good equipment but thats as far as they go,the best equipped gym I have been with the worst customer service in a gym I ever had experienced.If you want to join it keep in mind,he equipment is good ,the gym is good,but if for any reason you need to know something about the gym or you not familiarise yourself with the prison style lock up and in/out gate allowance..well just be prepared cause you are on your own!

I love the fact it's very spacious and never a problem to get on machines 😊 the only downfall is the changing rooms lock at 10pm, my first time there is asked the girl working where the changing rooms were and she pointed them out but never mentioned anything about them locking (this was at 930pm so a little heads up would have helped) there is a small sign on the door but I never noticed it, ended up locked out with my car keys in the changing rooms, I spoke to another member and they said it happened to them on their first day. I also noticed quite a few people do it the next time I was in also. I eneded up having to get a bus home at 1130pm at night, imagine that was a younger girl on her own!
The only other downfall is you get one entry a day, I left my water bottle and had to go out to the car then I couldnt get back in! That's the only negative feedback I have other than that the place is friendly, staff are friendly and I love how spacious it is

I canceled my JD Gyms membership in May, but they’ve continued to take monthly payments right through to August. When I complained, they told me they’d still take one more payment before finally cancelling. I feel disappointed and let down by the lack of transparency and customer service. It shouldn’t be this hard to cancel a membership and stop payments.

I will be taking this matter up with the consumer protection organisation and ombudsman before publically processing to a small claims court.

Decent gym but definitely needs new machines, they are old and don’t work properly. Other than that all good .

Great gym, lots of good equipment, really clean changing rooms and lovely warm showers.

Wifi and therefore connectivity is rubbish though :( if you have a workout program that needs connectivity it's a bit of a struggle

I like how spacious the gym is and the wide variety of machines it offers. On my first day, the staff member at the entrance warmly welcomed me and explained the facilities.

I am attending the class sessions and have been made very welcome by the members and coaches . I suffer from arthritis and know my limitations and coaches happy to help me adapt an exercise .
So far I have attended circuits, stretch and tone, Pilates, boot camp and body pump - enjoyed the variety of these classes. I like to attend a 9ish class today’s was 10:40 but I went to see what it was like but would prefer the 9 ish classes. First week nearly done and so far so good .

Really enjoying the classes and meeting new people
Have encouraged a few others to join me too!

Mirrors are not clean.
Gym smells so bad. It’s so stinky.
Need proper floor cleaning .

Amazing atmosphere, amazing people working there , good lighting but the equipment it’s pretty bad , can’t complain too much for £25

Gym’s a joke. No new machines in years, equipment always broken, and the place is dirty. Bottles and chewing gum left on machines, broken D-handles ignored by PTs, and equipment left all over the floor creating trip hazards. Do not join — absolute shambles.

‏because the women toilets are very bad smell and shit smell always, makes me sick and disgusting

Everything is absolutely fantastic, staff is cooperative and helpful , there is a variety of equipments , the gym is super clean and they clean it regularly while people training, I would recommend it to anyone 👌🏼♥️

Lots of regular gym goers at this gym so people know what they're doing and are more or less tidy and respectful of others. Locker rooms and bathroom area are clean. Atmosphere in terms of music and light levels are good. However, cons are the severe lack of cable attachements. Looking around it seems people bring a bag with their own attachments because they have no other choice. The few that the gym has are in bad shape. It's always disappointing to pay for a membership just to go to a gym that doesn't even have the basics. There's only one chest fly machine which is certainly not enough. Only one hip thrust machine and it's broken. Not a big one, but there's only one way of getting in and out: using your phone. I wish there was a second option not to have to fully rely on my phone...

I have a problem with my pass and the company didn’t answer me

Everything is in place but but no one to guide you as a first timer

Local gym...it's 24 hours now which is good.however I feel there's too many people jogging the machines.filiming themselves which is annoying...maybe need another water area.just one area..otherwise good gym lots of space
