JD Gyms - Shrewsbury Avis 

Really terrible WIFI. Every time so far I've been to the gym, the WIFI is either down or almost not existent. Today, I couldn't even get in as couldn't load the QR code. Love the gym but will cancel membership if this persists as realistically, I want a gym that provided Wifi.

Music alway on low, kills the atmosphere, otherwise decent gym.

Love this gym! So clean, excellent value and so much equipment and good classes. Please get us a booty builder equipment- like they have at some other JD gyms. The bar bell / strap on the ones where you add your own weight, really hurts me! Would be a life changer.

I have not been in a gym for a number of years. My daughter said come with me to my gym and thoroughly enjoyed it

I recently rejoined this gym and have been pleased with the extensive range of cardio machines — there’s always good availability, even at busy times.

However, I’ve noticed a few issues that could really use attention. Many of the heart rate monitors, especially on the stair climbers, don’t seem to work properly. More importantly, there doesn’t appear to be any regular cleaning of the equipment between uses. While users are expected to clean the machines themselves, there’s only one wipe dispenser and no disinfectant spray available, which isn’t sufficient for the size of the gym.
Overall, it’s a well-equipped facility, but hygiene and maintenance could be improved.

I’m enjoying the classes however it’s really frustrating turning up expecting to go to a class and it be cancelled with no notice - it would be great if there was a booking system and any cancelled classes were notified to those attending

Well its all new to myself. But I am finding it interesting. I am just concerned that there is no one going round the Gym cleaning the equipment time to time. But all is good so far.

Minimal wait for equipment and a wide range of top quality machines. Good showers and very clean changing facilities.

New membership is going well. Great equipment, nice atmosphere, and really accessible.

Hi! Great gym, great customers, great staff!....especially Amelia, Ben and Ben. Keep up the good work. The only fly in the ointment is the waste bins and pallets that have been dumped by the bicycle rail.

This means that those of us that cycle to the gym cannot use the bike rail without having to move the bins and pallets out of the way everyday.

Some of us have bikes with thick tyres so we cannot use the bike stand on the other side of the doors. Up to 2 months ago, the bins were kept on the other side of the main door which was out of everyone's way.

The bins and pallets constitute a Health and Safety hazard by blocking access to the bike rail. JD Gyms have legal obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to ensure a safe environment for not just employees, but customers also. So, If someone were to trip over the pallets or hurt themselves when moving the bin or pallets when trying to use the bike rail...............

I have been a member since 2017 and the bins were always placed away from the bile rail until a few months ago. Please don't let this spoil an otherwise brilliant gym experience for cyclists please.
PS. IT' BEEN OVER 2 WEEKS SINCE I POSTED THIS REVIEW ON THE GYM'S WEBSITE. NO ATTEMPT OT ACTION HAS BEEN TAKEN TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION.....OBVIOUSLY SHOWS HOW MUCH THE GYM VALUES CUSTOMERS!!!!!

Needs some new equipment first time back in 4 years and it’s all the same stuff. A lot of it’s getting wobbly, pec fly..

Really good equipment and lots of classes to choose from.

I have recently joined jd gym Shrewsbury.
I would like to say it is always a pleasurable experience with friendly members and helpful staff who are approachable should you need any advice.
What does significantly stand out is the excellent house keeping in keeping the men's changing facilities and toilets spotlessly clean.
There is a lady in the week and i visited the gym today Audrey was excellent.
I wish more gyms were like this.
I will continue to be a jd gym member because of these factors.
Completely satisfied five stars to Shrewsbury jd gym.

Good amount of space, a good range of equipment man’s all kept in good condition. Also a separate room upstairs with multiple punching bags etc.

Loads of equipment and the members seem sound

Good gym lots of equipment

JD Gyms Shrewsbury is decent, with clean changing rooms, good equipment, and proper air conditioning. However, there’s room for improvement in staff presence and attitude. Some staff interactions have been problematic, as noted by others. Overall, the facility is good but not perfect, and the experience could be hit or miss depending on the day.

Lot's of varied equipment. Staff very helpful. Very good for mind and body. Need more litter bins around the gym.
