JD Gyms - Washington Avis 

Gym far too busy, even at 6am. Most of equipment in use

First time doing the lunchtime cross-fit session with Brett today, usually try to do the burn classes. Today the the mix-up of the class to x-fit was great, the intensity was tough but really rewarding and motivating.
Would certainly recommend Brett’s classes 👍

First time of doing the x-fit class ran by Brett and just Wow!! Having attended the burn and other formats but this was a total escalation and really motivated you to push the extra mile. Brett has been outstanding since joining JD and shows the calibre of pt he is and is a benchmark for others to follow. The class was excellent

Great classes with an excellent instructor (Brett). He has bags of enthusiasm and both encourages and pushes you to get the most out of the class.

Always busy and seems good energy in there most days. Car parking at Sunderland is poor as can't stay longer than 2 hours and I usually do 2 and a half but not worse thing. I really enjoy the body pump classes and would welcome more of these, shame there's only 3 nights between washington and sunderland and I could do 4 and a Saturday morning if possible. Zoe is a great instructor but so are the others. Washington could do better hand weights in the studio as the rubber is coming away. Some different sizes would be great as no 6's. All In all both gyms are great value and enjoying picking up what my last gym sadly cancelled. Just needs more :)

Great gym great atmosphere! staff are very friendly and happy to answer any questions or help especially Brett Amy and Joey.

Great gym with some great classes on offer.
Zumba with Marta is brilliant, her passion shines through and she always gives 100% to every session. She makes newcomers feel welcome ensuring members feel confident and supported.

Pilates on a Sunday morning is a huge miss.

The gym offers a wide range of machines and equipment although some of the hand weights in the studio are in desperate need of replacing.
Equipment is cleaned often and the toilets and changing areas are always spotless thanks to the lovely cleaning staff.

Gym staff are pleasant and approachable making it a positive experience overall.

Did Alusibs pump and combat class tonight very good but wish they were on a bit earlier.

Plenty of equipment to use and in very good condition, staff look after the place very well and if you have any problem they drop what they are doing to help you and are all friendly.

I am early fifties and have been going to gyms on and off across Sunderland for 30+ years and this is by far the best. I was a member of this gym 10 years ago and loved it but ended my membership to go to one nearer my home. That gym was David lloyd which was 4 times more expensive and terribly run. Yes it's got a pool and club how but it's badly ran, machines are always broke, changing lockers constantly break and it's dirty. Decided to come back to Washington JD and best decision ever. Better equipment, better value, no screaming kids, lockers that work, air-conditioning that works, value for money and roomier sauna...and immaculately clean. Worth the extra journey for that and the cost.

Staff are real friendly and easy to approach if you need help or advice. Plenty of machines and mostly maintained. People who go regularly are canny aswell
