Arrived just on time for the bus after a very stressful plane journey. The bus man could not have been more kind and helpful. You don’t realise how important this first impression of Ireland this can be. Thank you so much to this bus man for his patience and kindness.
Prebooked seat from Kilkenny to Dublin…
Prebooked seat from Kilkenny to Dublin airport on 717 route. Bus didn’t arrive and the next bus, scheduled for one and a half hours later, didn’t arrive on time; over thirty minutes late I believe. After back and forth emails JJK said that there was nothing they could do about my missed flight. No way would they compensate me. They never even mentioned reimbursing me for my prebooked, guaranteed seat.
Very Happy with their Service
Booked a 2 way private bus, driver was an absolute pleasure. Would absolutely do business with them again. They were also very quick and informative in replying to all emails looking for information.
Greedy and unhelpful
Can’t use a paid ticket that expired within 24hours charged the same as a return ticket for one way

Got overcharged for bus route should've been 1.50. Got charged 5 euros. Got no ticket even though I asked for one.
When I rang to complain to get my money back was told to email. Cudnt have been less helpful a d was very rude
The toilets in the buses are foul
The toilets in the buses are foul. Really unhygienic. It's hard to breath in there. Please clean your toilets regularly!
Terrible service, rude driver
Took the bus from nenagh to Dublin. I am from out of the country and I have no idea which stop is which in Dublin.
I finally got concerned and asked the bus driver where the Heuston station stop was and he was rude and told me he had announced it twice. . He didn't announce ANY stop. There was never an announcement over the speakers.
I ended up out at the airport and had to take a taxi back into town.
I am angry about this experience
After landing at Dublin Airport at…
After landing at Dublin Airport at 11:30 PM, I was unaware that I needed to pre-book a seat with my Free Travel Pass for people with disabilities. Both the 2 AM and 5:30 AM buses were fully booked, leaving me with no choice but to wait for the 6:30 AM bus. I spent several hours in the freezing cold airport while trying to get a cancellation for the buses at 2 AM and 5:30 AM. The airport was uncomfortable, with automatic opening doors, no seating available, and no staff assistance.
The cold was particularly intense after traveling from the warm climate. I traveled comfortably and happily from central Portugal to Lisbon and then to Ireland in under four hours, making the drastic change in temperature and human interaction even more difficult to endure. In contrast, my trip from Dublin to Waterford took 11 hours, and I am still feeling unwell from the stress and cold.
At 6:15 AM, I returned to the bus stop again at this stage I felt unwell, freezing and uncomfortable. I was met with a man and woman shouting racist abuse about other people, and another man persistently trying to talk to me. I was feeling increasingly unsafe, particularly as I was a woman alone. There were no staff or bus station and it was in the middle of a dark car park and a walk away from the airport and other people.
Finally, at 6:40 AM, a bus turned on its lights in the bay, but its sign initially read "Limerick." I approached the driver and asked if the bus was going to Waterford. He confirmed it was and changed the sign in front of me without explanation. Then, with a sarcastic tone, he asked, “Are you happy now?” I was shocked by his unnecessary attitude but remained polite. I asked if I had time to use the toilet, and he responded, “Oh, you do, but I will be gone.” When I inquired if there was a toilet on board, instead of confirming, he sarcastically said, “There have been toilets on all buses since 2010.”
His response was dismissive and unhelpful. He could have simply mentioned that there was a toilet onboard when I first asked. I walked away to load my bags into the undercarriage and remain calm, but when I returned to board, he again loudly repeated, “There have been toilets on all buses since 2010.” I calmly explained that I had only asked about this bus. His response became more confrontational, and he said, “I’m not here to fight with you.” I replied, “It appears you are.” I said, I don’t know about bus toilets, I don’t live here. He said neither do I, I replied you are a bus driver. Despite his aggressive demeanor, he also displayed an unusual laughter, which added to my discomfort.
I was hoping when he realised I had a disability he would stop being so aggressive but when he scanned my ticket, he failed to check my Free Travel Pass or request identification. As I was traveling with a disability pass, needing access to a toilet is a valid concern, and the way he humiliated me over such a simple request was uncalled for. No passenger should have to endure such behaviour or feel worried for their safety.
Once I was on the bus, I heard him continuing to shout down the aisle at me. From the middle of the bus , I asked him for his name. After hesitating, he finally said, “Padharc,” and when I asked for his full name, he dismissively responded, “Padharc the bus driver,” highlighting his unprofessional attitude. I realised then that there was only one young lad on board who had taken of his earphones to listen.
Additionally, the onboard toilet smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which made the journey even more unpleasant.
I went to Kilkenny with my parents
I went to Kilkenny with my parents. We had booked tickets online both ways 2 days before planned trip. from Dublin to Kilkenny the journey was ok, the driver was on time, checked the tickets. The return trip turned out to be a disaster. We were standing with a group of other people and waiting for the coach. It arrived late, the driver came out and announced that he only had one place! We all had bought tickets in advance. We all went crazy. When we asked what to do and how to get back over 100km home, he threw up his hands saying that he could not help and we could book another coach for the morning! It was Saturday, we could not get through to any helpline. In the end my partner had to come pick us up - luckily we had such an opportunity. But what about the other passengers? This company is a joke

Very poor service this evening on the Dublin airport 726 route. The 17.30 was 45 minutes late. The driver didn’t know what time it was, offered not explanation for the delay and he was very rude. The bus was busy and had limited seat but my seat was broken and would not stay upright. In fact the general condition of the but was very poor with a broken front windscreen and grill damage evidence of an accident. Not impressed at all.
Jj Kavanagh is a joke
JJ Kavanagh and sons should be ashamed of themselves. Theirs supposed to be a bus route for college every morning to pick up student's and bring them to I.T. and they could be there one day and not the next. No mention of why buses never showed up or an alternative route. Nobody in the office cares either. Absolute joke.

Horrible experience you can never rely on this shi**ty bus always arriving late you wouldn’t want to have an appointment/interview while trying to rely on jj kavanagh
Caused Missed flights for holidays
This was a good service unfortunately this is the second time a scheduled bus hasn't turned up, today the 8th of August I've missed my flight from Dublin for my summer holiday, the attitude of the office staff was obnoxious, instead of apologising they tried to deflect and stated well I suppose you have travel insurance!
Height of the season and no contingency plan?
Terrible service
Terrible service, were walking for 40 minutes to try find the bus. Were told it would be the same bus collecting and it wasn’t, bad communication. Overall terrible service do not recommend
If I could give no stars I would
If I could give no stars I would. Booked private hire coach for two day festival with jj kavanagh & sons and both days was disgraceful. Bus was meant to collect me along with 50 others from marlay park when event was over yet when we walked out to the parking area the bus wasn’t there. I called driver and he was just shouting down the phone. He wasn’t able to understand me and his english wasn’t good so I had no idea what he was saying. I had to hand my phone over to one of the guards that were outside the event and thankfully she was able to calm the driver down and understand him. The guard was only able to locate the driver as she got him to give the phone to a passer by on the road and get them to explain where the bus was. This was a 15 minute walk for us to get to the bus when it was meant to be in the marlay park grounds collecting us. Having 50 teenagers walking through Dublin on one of the busiest nights of the summer is an absolute disgrace when it was arranged for us to be collected at marlay park.
Bus was also booked for next day so the next day I texted the driver 3 hours before he was collecting us to ask him where he was going to park. I didn’t get a response. I texted him and again his texts weren’t making sense, I called and I didn’t understand him. Once again I had to get a guard involved. I explained to the guard what happened and he also said it was a disgrace and to definitely complain as this type of service is scandalous. Guard located the bus driver who was a 40 minute walk away from venue. 50 of us once again walking to the bus that was meant to collect us at marlay park. We paid to get a bus back to our hotel not for us to be walking through Dublin.
I would not recommend these services to anyone. They are a joke.
I had a poor customer service…
I had a poor customer service experience. I contacted the company and they listened and resolved the issue. There is a commitment to customer service from this company.
Outstanding expierence
Brian, our driver, was more than a driver. Not only was he polite and accommodating but he quickly became one of the family. As the days went on, he always had a great history or pop culture lesson and was not afraid to tell us stories from his life.
He went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible experience, and he was the perfect person for our group. He was so much more than a driver. He was a comedian, storyteller, historian, and always gave great food recommendations.
We could not have had a better companion for our trip. Everyone genuinely enjoyed their time in Ireland, but Brian made is so much more memorable.
Ireland Trip
: He was the part of my trip to Ireland I did not know I would be looking for . He was the smiling face I looked forward to seeing every morning. Brian was always looking for ways to serve us and make sure we were taken care of on our travels through Ireland. I looked forward to what I could learn from Brian he was always willing to share his personal experience and knowledge with us. I was personally touched by Brian and his enthusiasm to serve others. I will always remember him for his dedication, service to others, and willingness to help another.
Late again........
I'm sitting at the Carlow coach park stop waiting for the 8.10pm service to Dublin. I checked the app and it says the bus will be 40 mins late. This is the third time I've taken the same bus route from Carlow to Dublin with Kavanaghs and all three times the bus arrived late, usually more than 30 mins late. It's quite frustrating. Maybe it's time to change the timetable to reflect the real time the bus journey takes?
