My experience with TutorABC has been a wild ride indeed. Lots of ups and downs, especially after three years of working for the company. However I can honestly say that over the last year, the company and management has really got stuck in and improved the workings behind the scenes. They are a lot more focused on the teachers (it still has a way to go, but they're definitely on the right track). which was really one of the main issues. So kudos to them all for that!!

This is my most important online job and experience. I have worked for tutorABC for many years ( except a pause for about one and a half year ). I have experienced many ups and downs with this company but I am still here. First off all the booking that I had before and now is one of the best, and before the MPT hours wasn't even necessary and we had empty-room robot classes when the student missed the session. Now the company is developing and changing and it is focused on Taiwanese population. We have some obligatory MPT hours now but that is something that most of the companies have. I like that there are both adult and junior classes and most of the student's are quite nice. The rating system for teachers in my opinion needs to be changed or re-arranged but I have noticed positive attitude from the company towards this topic and now we have something they call "mentorship program" which is improvement for teachers and from company, while we still can book our sessions. The salary is always on time and there is no doubt that this company is completely legit. The down side to be honest is base pay for some regions. Because maybe 5-6 years ago that base pay was decent but now day's cost of living skyrocket after corona crisis and for someone who want's to make a living from online teaching this base rate is more than quite challenging for one's survival and growth. This is the most important thing that needs to be improved in my opinion. And one more thing will be excellent if the company improves it - the lessons content. Some lessons are really challenging for both teachers and students and in my opinion we need to change and rearrange and improve some lessons and also add new one with more content in it and that would be perfect for both teachers and students. The site is really easy to be dealt with and I think there is no need for some changes in interface of the site because we have many tools and stickers already which is quite great. New phone app is a good thing and free-pass is also quite good for teachers ,only thing it should be improved is when a teacher is late and have been switched it should have longer opportunity for clicking "yes" on the app and not loose other booked sessions in next 12 or 24 hours. Overall I would also like to say that tutorABC has dedicated stuff now and a manager Jacko who is really helpful. Overall , this is a great company ,despite there is still room for more positive changes I would definitely recommend this company honestly.. Maybe my review is to long for some people but it was detailed, honest and brought up from my mind and soul as a result of a long and interesting cooperation with this company. I work for TutorABC. My schedule remains fairly busy and I really enjoy teaching the lesson material, which is user friendly, and easy to extend upon with further questions and activities should your students prefer. The clients are both adults and children and are usually engaged, attentive and friendly. I sometimes feel like our lessons are just friendly conversations. Required feedback reports take little time and can impact greatly on the student’s progress. My communication with staff during my time here has also been positive, receiving praise and encouragement. I am proud of working as an English consultant here and plan to remain here for the foreseeable future.

Great company to work for and easy to use platform!!

I've been working here for 5 years now. Used to be pretty awesome, but a lot has changed in the Online ESL ecosystem. They went through some rough patches, but they are stabilizing. You can expect bookings towards peak hours. Pay is not good enough to live in the USA, but it can get you by in a 3rd world country. Good for a side job if you have a few free hours on Saturday or during the evening BJT.

TutorABC is a wonderful work opportunity. The payment is excellent, communication with coworkers and others in the company is fluent, also the platform is easy to use. All recommendations for this school from me as a senior teacher working there!

The Pros:
~Ease of application and interview process
~90% bookings for classes scheduled during prime hours
~Given the over-saturation of ESL companies, the pay is actually very fair
~My favorite, I’m not even done with my first contract and yet I’m steadily building relationships with returning students
~Ease of cancellations
~Tutorabc is consistently trying to better the platform for students and teachers (i.e. clear instructions, discounts for teaching gear, and communication)
~Home based income=cost effective and time effective
~Web based teaching, no software requirements for teaching
~The kid students💖🥹 (so cute)
~The adult students 🤯😂 (such good humorous and intellectual conversations)
~Small student groups
~25 min classes and 45 min classes, but pays for a full hour
~Opportunity for bonuses right off the gate

The Cons:
~The pay (subjective opinion, I’m satisfied with my pay)
~Full-time hours (I suspect this will steadily increase over time, tutorabc is relatively new)
~I haven’t seen an always ready tech support group for teachers while teaching (I could be wrong about this honestly, maybe I haven’t figured out how to do it still and it exists)
~I wish you could make a hard choice between teaching children and adults or both; still the experience in teaching a diverse age demographic is a benefit

Personal opinion: Pros outweigh the cons by far and I am confident tutorabc are working on the small issues and teacher feedback behind the scene

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They try hard to bridge consultants and clients to improve the learning and teaching experiences.

Tutor ABC is a nice company since it enables the consultants to have flexible schedules chosen on their own. The workers are helpful, and the pay is always on time. The notification system works well, and it really helps reminding the hours scheduled.

In my opinion, the best platform for learning and teaching. The seriousness of the payment is at a high level. What I would like to change is that the minimum grade that students can give to professors is 6, because there are still a lot of students who if they are simply not in the mood give a bad grade and it spoils the whole effort and work of teacher. Likewise, for countries where the standard of living is expensive, wages should be fairer than what they already pay.
3,8$ for 25 min session is very small and unfair and also for 45min is 5$ in my case.

During the last several months my bookings have increased significantly. In these turbulent times, I can entirely rely on TutorABC, which is extremely important for me. They are my partner and my great support!

My experience with TutorABC has been positive over the last month for sure as the company has helped me tremendously with the absence policy by assisting me with some absences that I had received due to some misunderstandings and as a result, they were removed. Moreover, after a few months of use with the TutorABC Notification system on Telegram, I can say that this notification system is far superior to the old itutorchat system. Though there is no human being, the system does the job well and I like it!

Witnessing the positive change that TutorABC has been implementing so far is so encouraging and fulfilling. The staff is very supportive and they are always there for you as an employee. I really love the flexibility too!

In my opinion, the company is giving its best to grow, expand and hire the best teacher possible to give the best opportunity for our clients to study the language in the best possible way! The company policy is to be assertive, proactive, and transparent towards both its teachers and its clients.

I've been with TutorABC for 3 years now and love the flexibility of the job. They have been working to improve the management/ teacher relationship and have opened up lines of communication and support. I am grateful to have a job that is flexible enough to adapt to my unpredictable life.

I love this job. It's by far the easiest/most chill online ESL job I've had (I've worked for 5 different companies).
There is a bit of a lingering reputation from when TutorABC was combined with the China division.
But now ABC is solely for students in Taiwan and there's been a clean break from the China side. So as you might imagine, things have definitely gotten better.

The students are great, the pay is decent, and the admin is very hands-off in the unnecessary ways but helpful when it's needed.

My only complaint is I've seen a shift towards way more 45 minute classes as opposed to 25 minute classes. Since the pay for 45 min. classes is considerable lower, this is a little deflating.
Nonetheless, I'd still recommend them if you're just looking for some good, stress-free side income.

It's always encouraging to see the company you work for evolving in the right direction and its policies and practices changing to the benefit of all stakeholders.
Mentor program for teachers, fine-tuning of a lesson material, improved stability of the platform, streamlined communication with the support make teachers more effective in their work and more satisfied with their job.
Furthermore, the teacher's community is getting more eager to offer new ideas to work on to maintain competitiveness and even help TutorABC distinguish itself in the ESL school market. Generally, the outlook remains positive.
Most of all, I appreciate all my time slots being 90-100% booked, as it allows me to manage my time more effectively and prepare better for the lessons.

I started working with the company back in 2019. I have seen the positive changes in the company and most recently, the rapid changes and improvements since TutorABC returned to Taiwan - improved relations between management and staff, improved professionalism and expectations in terms of teaching quality and engagement with customers. The flexible working pattern, notifications and updates on Telegram confirming bookings and cancellations is very helpful in organising my life. The fact that the company is still striving to improve in a highly congested market is a plus as it means that it can only benefit the Contractors and customers. The 24/7 nature of the Company means that there is a place for everyone be it Native English Speaker or not.

I've been with this company right from the start and have found the experience to be very enjoyable. They deliver excellent support, flexibility and an abundance of materials for the students and teachers. The students and staff at the company are an absolute delight to work with.

Flexible working hours. Paid on time . Improved communication between teachers and management. Pay rate for South Africans are bad compared to peers from other countries .Young students are allowed to rate teachers .
