I create bespoke fine jewellery and ready to wear collections which are inspired by my clients’ stories, and the rugged landscape and rich culture of Shetland. I have been a professional jeweller since 1994 and started my own business in 2008. I specialise in bespoke client commissions inc. wedding and engagement rings, jewellery to celebrate anniversaries and special occasions, and remodelling of sentimental jewellery into new pieces for new life seasons. I work in all metals, including silver, gold and platinum, and I source and set a variety of precious stones including natural and synthetic (lab grown) diamonds, emeralds and sapphires. My collection pieces are inspired by stories, life experiences and cultural influences which I hold dear.I am based in my workshop studio in the beautiful village of Hoswick, Shetland, and I have a workspace in the Goldsmiths' Centre in London (I recently relocated my business from London back home to my native Shetland). I have bespoke clients all over the world and supply customers globally.

I don't even know where to start. My very first purchase in Shetland on my very first visit was a set of stacking rings from Karlin's studio. I have gone back on every trip since to add to my collection of rings, bangles and earrings. You won't find more beautiful and well made jewelry, or nicer people. And that is saying a LOT because there is a lot of great jewelry in Shetland and some wonderful people as well! Don't hesitate to visit, you will NOT be disappointed. (If you are staying in Lerwick, there is a bus that you can take to visit, but I always get a cab if we haven't made a stop while out and about. The cab ride from Lerwick is NOT expensive, just call and book it in advance!)
