Stopped drinking Kenko rich, appalling! I have only drunk Kelco rich throughout my life. No other coffee was good enough for me. It was superb. Then the company shrank jar sizes, changed the recipe mix, made the product inferior quality, taste bad, leave a sludge sediment in your cup. I can’t bear the muck they now produce. They should earn a few more pounds by giving lessons in how to lose customers.

Why make a recipe change, to presumably reduce costs when it is detrimental to the quality?
The residual coffee dust left in the cup is going to have massive effect on sales.
We are switching to another brand.
Kenco will need to rectify this massive own goal swiftly. I suspect it will cost them millions in marketing, to let their customers know they have corrected this commercial disaster.

The new formula leaves sludge at the bottom of the cup, and tastes very bitter. I've been using this brand for a long as I remember, but will now be changing. Definately has ruined my coffee experience every morning.

Don't like this new blend, it's not the usual good quality, it's bitter and leaves a deposit of sludge at bottom of cup. Makes me think they're brushing the dust/dregs up of the floor. They also have the cheek, audacity to reduce the amount down from 200g to 190g whilst still charging the same amount or more.
They obviously don't value their customers....give us back our Kenco Rich the old blend.

Just read through reviews....shout out to person who said Aldi Gusto Rico tastes like Kenco Rich original taste... I'll be checking that out...GUSTO RICO in future YES

Bean a fan of this coffee for years , and now it’s just like the ALDI knockoff .
Smaller as well !
Time to get that coffee machine i was thinking about , unfortunately time to leave the brand .

Why change something that works? This has been our go to coffee in the office for the last 10 years. It won't be for much longer. It does not even taste like coffee anymore and, the sludgey bit at the bottom is very off putting. Yuk Yuk Yuk. Please go back to the old recipe. I can live with the jar pack size change but not the recipe change!

What happened to Kenco Smooth.
Tastes appalling and there’s a muddy sludge in left in the bottom of the cup.

Apparently they’ve change the recipe!!
Didn’t advertise the changes in store (including reducing the weight) just changed it.

In a nutshell:
Kenco Smooth is not longer Kenco Smooth.

The product has a very poor taste and leave a nasty mess in the bottom of my cup, look like time to move to a new coffee.weight is less in the jar still the same price🤮🤢

The new recipe is truly awful, no longer smooth with a gritty sludge left at the bottom and sides of the mug.
I will be trying other brands,

Sludge, filthy ring around cups. How could it go so wrong. We ditched Nescafé Gold when they added sludge a few years ago and have been happy with Kenco, until now. Thankfully Lidl's Gusto Rico is so much better, cheaper and sludge free. While I'm here, whoever thought all red lids was an improvement on clearly defined red, blue or green was 100% wrong.

I have drunk both Kenko smooth and rich for years. Recently noticed it doesn't taste right (bitter) and leaves a gritty residue.
I finally invested if the recipe had changed and find it has. Please revert to previous formulation and until then I will be trying alternatives.

I have always loved Kenco coffee and it has always been good quality for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately, this is no longer so. Recently the reduced contents from the jar has forced us to use the better priced refill packs. We have been very disappointed with the dregs left at the bottom of the cup and fear that an inferior mix is now being used. I thought it might just apply to the refill packs, but having read the recent reviews, it must also relate to the jars. We shall have to rethink next time we buy coffee (we had stocked up with a dozen packs as usual).

I am writing about the new jar of kenco smooth. I have used this coffee for years but the new jar is not good. Always as you get to the bottom of the cup, the coffee is grainy and powdery. It's not nice. Please bring back the old recipe.

I have enjoyed Kenco Rich for many years but recent recipe changes have made it bland and powdery. I presume the formulation changes were made as a result of rising international coffee prices however a great instant coffee has been made undrinkable.

I thought this was me - it is a relief to find they have changed this - I use the de caff and the smooth - the de caff is vile now it even caused a row here as I thought someone had tipped the dregs of something else into my decaff - they have lost this customer.

The new recipe is awful. I have been loyal to Kenco for a decade. Now, I am going to change brand.

After years of drinking Kenco Rich we are very disappointed with the new recipe. Taste is terrible and a horrible bit at the bottom.
Guess I need a new brand now .

We’ve drank Kenco rich for a long long time, I noticed a change with the packaging a couple of months ago, red top, and the coffee tastes unpleasant, with a sediment always sitting at the bottom. I thought it was just a bad batch but the following jars were the same. We’ve now switched to another brand, I can’t drink it like that which is a real disappointment.

How unpleasant Kenco coffee has become Bitter taste and a layer of scum in the cup Would have been better if you had decided to make the jars smaller than change the coffee. We understand that the cost of everything has put pressure on companies WRONG DECISION.
