Although the sausages were really good, they lacked the real sage flavour that we love in a Lincolnshire sausage.

I am a staunch Yellerbelly and have received couriered parcels of Lakings' 'Lincolnshire Pork Products' to enrich my desolate existence in Cambridgeshire on half a dozen occasions over the past few years, and have always been well pleased. I had cause to travel to Louth last autumn and was very impressed by the shop there. As a treat for my own birthday a week ago, I ordered a parcel for home delivery comprising my favourites, savoury haslet (2), large pork pie (2), stuffed chine and Lincolnshire sausages (1kg) along with a Horncastle plum loaf, pasties (2) and a block of Stilton cheese, all to share with my Scandinavian wife who is a long-time convert. Well insulated, temperature controlled ice-blister packaging, and delivery by their trusted provider was free as I had spent more than £50. It is claimed to bring fresh quality meat ordered online and delivered "to door-step the next day".
At checkout I left a note on my order where requested "Please leave in front porch". This was repeated on the box label "Info PLEASE LEAVE IN PORCH". At 07:48 on the delivery morning I received an SMS to say my Lakings parcel will be delivered between 10:00-11:00 and if not in I could leave options for my driver M****** at a link. I didn't, as I had already left options. Additionally, on the upper glass pane of the front door I have a clear notice, "Please leave Parcels here in the Front Porch … the door is not locked". Nothing had been delivered by 11:00 as I looked in the porch from inside, so I returned inside. 11:20 and still nothing, though we were at home with some lights on, so I opened the front door at the outside of the porch, and there was my box containing food products standing on the path outside! No-one had rung the bell, or bothered to place the box inside the porch – we were very fortunate it wasn't raining but what if it had been and we had had to go out! I didn't realise when booking that the phrase delivered "to door-step the next day" was what would happen, but why then ask for delivery instructions. I was not happy, but no damage was done in the 20+ minutes of the box being left outside, this time.
Apart from that bad experience, for which I will reduce the satisfaction from 5 to 4 stars (sorry), the products have been absolutely EXCELLENT and we have been in heaven eating them. My last encounter with your 'trusted provider' led to a paid-for next-day delivery being substituted by an erroneous 'sorry we missed you note' when we were sitting at home waiting for it. It took a further week to extract it and I thought 'never again'. I have 3 photographs of the Lakings' delivery.

Excellent products and service. We ordered meat and deli products online for delivery Christmas Eve. The items were carefully packaged and delivered early on the day. Very happy with the service and will definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.

Sent a parcel of Lincolnshire goodies to my sister and family down south for Christmas to remind her of us, they loved it! Easy to order and efficiently delivered thank you. One suggestion is maybe put approximate slices for cooked meats as a guide as I’m not good with weights 🤣

We use Lakins regularly as it is our local butchers. The quality of the meat and other produce is always to a very high standard, if a little on the expensive side. This is the first year we have purchased a fresh turkey from them (pre-ordered in September). The turkey and other items were delivered on Christmas Eve morning. I cooked the turkey according to the supplied cooking guidelines and we were not disappointed. It was very flavourful, succulent and moist. We will definitely be ordering again next year. My only request would be to provide the actual weight of the turkey so I wouldn't have to faff around finding big enough scales to weigh it.
