LeanLaw customer service non-existent

I have used Lean Law for 5 years. Their customer service is almost non existent now. No one answers their phone; their site questions are answered by AI bots - and when you ask for a live representative it does not answer. I am not sure who works there which makes me nervous since all my law firm invoices are on their site.

Satisfied user for over 9 years

I have used Lean Law for over 9 years. As a bookkeeper with many clients, Lean Law has been an effective and efficient way to save me time- no double entry into Quickbooks Online, seamless upstream and downstream changes, and accurate time keeping/billing for my attorneys. I have received prompt, helpful support from the Lean Law chat team whenever I have had an issue, and the sales reps have actually listened to my small firm's needs. They have not priced me "out of the market," which is a remarkable thing given our inflationary times. Lean Law lives up to its name!

Would not recommend LeanLaw

I would not recommend LeanLaw to any firm larger than 1-5 attorneys. We have had a terrible experience trying to roll out LeanLaw, particularly on the billing side. The product has many bugs in all areas - time entry, billing, and reports. The desktop time entry often produces errors, and the online time entry is oddly designed. If you are considering LeanLaw, I would highly recommend you ask for a demo version to test each area the way you would use it (including generating a client bill) before signing a contract.

Lean Law is fairly simple to use

Lean Law is fairly simple to use, but I find that time entries and expense entries sometimes disappear and then show up a few days later.

Mostly working but price increasing

Everything seems to be mostly working so far. There are issues with the mobile app. Also, they increased the price about a month after I subscribed and before I’m fully up and running. Tracie’s assistance with onboarding makes all the difference, without her I probably would have abandoned ship.

Serious bulk trust payment problems

The problems with bulk trust payments are dangerous. Also causing delays, I can’t complete my billing every month and send invoices to customers until I contact support to manually correct the problems. The problems every month include, in the manage invoices area: First, bulk paid invoices are not processed as paid. It is then possible to pay them a SECOND time. Cannot send to client until corrected. Second, lean law will sometimes overpay, satisfying an invoice in full but leaving the trust account overdrawn. This is an ethics violation in every state that requires trust accounts.

Over charged

You don’t adequately answer the questions I ask. There’s an additional subscription charge of $132 that was recently applied after I already paid an annual subscription price of $450.

As an attorney entering time

As an attorney entering time, the process is easy. It was easy to set up clients and to add expenses and time spent. It is awkward to use the calendar function because for me the time of day I do the work is not important and I often do work for client several times a day - so I either go back to an earlier time entry or hope that the system accumulates them all. I think it does.
We are still too new to the billing system (generating invoices) to make a judgment, but thus far I am not impressed. The system generated invoice looks like it is coming from a utility, not a professional law firm - the big bold box with "amount due" and the snappy message at the end. I prefer a more subtle, but detailed statement of hours worked and net amount due after prior payments.
I do not know if it was our staff or your system, but last week the system repeated charges on a bill - twice - even though the work was only done in December. That had to be caught before sent to the client.

Navigation and Use

The system is easy to navigate and the client names load much faster now. However, I had a recent problem where my time entries would not load on December 31. This seems to have been fixed now.

No customer service

I have twice tried to set up an onboarding session. The first time the trainer didn’t schedule the agreed upon event, she said she had a family emergency. The second time my response to the trainers email has yet to be answered.
