Most importantly, we make beautiful, soft, artisanal quality products that feel special to us and to the people who enjoy them. Linoto was started in August, 2007. Since then we have shipped more than 75000 orders to customers all around the world. What sets Linoto apart is our bold color offerings, exceptional workmanship, and the fact that all of our products are proudly made at our workshop in Westchester County in New York. Every item is marked on the cloth with chalk, cut with tailor shears, expertly measured, expertly sewn to the same standards as a designer dress, then washed with natural laundry soap and shipped in plastic free recycled packaging. Linoto wouldn't be possible without the skilled and hardworking technicians who cut and sew our beautiful creations at the workshop in New York. They are a like a second family to me. Some of them have been with the company since our scrappy beginnings when we were still working out of an apartment in Manhattan. Making linen sheets the right way is hard work. The fabric is very heavy, very expensive, and requires a great deal of skill to work with. It all started in 2007 when I was shopping around for real linen sheets and I was unable to find any set in a simple, modern style for less than $1000. What's more, I had to wait 4-6 weeks for delivery from Europe. I was so frustrated by my search that I decided to make my own set of linen sheets as well as a few sets for friends and family. The sheets were a huge hit and it was suggested that I set up a website and see if there was demand. I graduated with a degree in fashion design from the University of Cincinnati which has one of the best design programs in the country. We were taught very well how to make things from concept to finished product. I was very fortunate to have all of the skills and machinery required to try my ideas without large capital investments.In the first 12 months (working nights and weekends out of my home while holding down another job) I sold more than 120 linen sheet sets to customers throughout the US and abroad who were so pleased to find real linen sheets at an affordable price.Linoto has now fulfilled more than 10,000 orders to loyal customers around the world and enjoys a fabulous reputation for quality, value, and style.

Over 4 months later and sheet still hasn't arrrived

Ordered a single linen flat sheet on November 27, 2020. No estimated delivery date when I ordered - that seemed weird but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Credit card was charged right away. I sent them an email to ask what the rough timeline was - are we talking a few weeks or six months? Would be nice to know, because if it's six months, I'll buy another sheet in the meantime. They said "We anticipate your order to be finished and shipped by the end of January." On March 29, 2021, I get a marketing email from them with the headline "It's been a while..." - no kidding. I replied to that email to point out the irony, and then on April 2, received an email saying my order had been shipped. Now it's April 15, and I still don't have it, but maybe soon. Luckily I did buy another sheet in the meanwhile.

Long story short, I would recommend sending a donation in the same amount to a charity that supports artisanal sheet makers instead - at least you get a tax receipt.

Thanks for your purchase and for letting us know about the problems you had with this order. Your order was an international order that was placed during the busiest time of the entire year. We did have a banner at the top of website notifying customers that orders places between Thanksgiving and Christmas may require additional time. Also orders, outside of the USA do require additional time and paperwork. We are very sorry it took longer than anticipated. The tracking information shows that your sheet was delivered to. you on 4/16/2021. We hope you are enjoying the sheet and we apologize for any inconvenience had while waiting for it to arrive. I wish I had seen these reviews before…

I wish I had seen these reviews before I ordered from Linoto.

My recent experience echos the 2020 reviews, e.g.:
-Charged my credit card right away, and that was in late October. The order just shipped (2/26/21).
-Two to three calls with CS, similar responses.
-Asked to cancel part of my order two weeks ago (pillowcases), but today's shipping order included them.
-When I cancelled another part of the order in November 2020, it took 4 weeks and another follow-up call to activate the refund. CS told me "it takes a while to issue a refund".

I, too, wanted to support an American business, and I understand that COVID has impacted their supply chain and their timelines. But the way my requests were managed is not acceptable.

I'm going to return these.

4 month wait for the wrong item

I waited four months for a duvet cover. The website said the wait time would be four weeks. Each time I contacted them after that they said my item would ship in about two weeks.
It ended up taking over four months. And the item they finally sent was the wrong size. Paid almost $300 because I wanted to support American manufacturing, but this business can’t get things right and doesn’t have transparent customer service.

As soon as we learned about the problem we sent you a prepaid return shipping label and we also sent you the correct full size on March 2nd 2021. Terrible service, customer-hostile behavior

I don't generally leave bad reviews of companies -- most bad experiences I have could easily be one-offs as a result of someone having a bad day or just my own bad luck.

Linoto is different, unfortunately. I placed an order in mid-November for some bedding products. Their website listed a 3-4 week lead time. After four weeks had passed with no updates, I e-mailed them. A week later, they replied, saying my order would likely be ready in February. Well, I needed a duvet cover sooner that that -- my cat was pulling threads out of our new comforter. And, frankly, if you've got a three-month lead time, you should say so.

It took me two more weeks to get them to acknowledge my cancellation request. They said they'd forward it to the right people.

Well, today, about two months after ordering, they called me and left a voicemail saying my order was ready, and asked if I'd consider NOT cancelling. Well, I was busy and missed the call. By the time I called them back, they were out of the office. They have no voicemail. And to top it off, they've now sent me a shipping notification.

The icing on the cake? They charged me when I placed the order, so I've had $500 tied up for two months with no product to show.

I don't know yet how this story ends, except that I'll get my money back one way or another. Regardless, Linoto's customer service is SHOCKINGLY terrible, and has been consistently terrible throughout this process. Please, do yourself a favor and skip this brand.

Hello, Thank you so much for feedback. We are sorry if you felt this way and we did our very best to communicate lead times which were 4-5 weeks at the time your order was placed on 11/27/20. We use these lead times to plan, cut, sew, wash, pack and prepare the orders. Due to the amazing number of options for size and color, not every combination is always in stock. During the holidays, a banner was placed at the top of the homepage, on the product pages, and in the order confirmation explaining that orders placed on or around Thanksgiving might take extra time and may not arrive before Christmas. The inquiry we received asked about delivery with the condition to cancel ONLY if the lavender duvet cover you ordered had not been started. We only called because we were trying to give you an update about your order. At that point it was not only started but nearly complete and was in fact shipped on 12/22/20, 3 weeks after the order was placed and well within the timeframe stated on our website. We hope you and your cat have been enjoying your sheets and we apologize if you were disappointed by the customer service experience. We are a small company doing our best. Customer service non existent

Their customer service is non existent. My package was not delivered at my address - instead of helping me investigate, they are indulging in magical thinking. "in our experience the package shows up several days later" or "go to the post office, it's there and they'll give it you".

a typical newish dtc brand.. plenty of other options out there at a similar price point that won't make you jump through hoops when a delivery problem happens.

Are they going out of business or something?

Ordered a fitted sheet in June and heard nothing for four weeks. Times are weird and I get that there are delays, but this is different because 1) they charge your card IMMEDIATELY and not on shipment, so this charge had already posted to my credit card one full statement ago, and 2) Linoto wouldn't answer my email or ever pick up the phone when I called. Just zero communication. I had to open a credit card dispute to get my money back.

Fitted Sheet

I ordered an XL fitted twin sheet on May 28. Several weeks later, I called to enquire about a shipping date. They said it'd be another couple of weeks due to COVID-19. I understand that. I called again at the beginning of July when they said they would be starting on it soon. I called a couple weeks later, and it was exactly the same story. I suggested I cancel it since they admitted they hadn't started working on the order yet, but they said I couldn't since it had already been started! Huh? Previous sentence was it hadn't been started! It is now August 6th and still no update! I certainly understand delayed production but 2.5 months later? They can do better than that!

On July 13th I called after sending an email regarding my order for a pair of briefs. I wanted to hopefully change sizes. I had initially sent an email asking this question when I first made the order on June 19th, but didn’t hear back. The person on the phone said the size could be changed from and XS to a S. He told me Linoto had emailed me that day, July 13th, saying to expect my order soon. Accepting possible fault I said I must have missed that email. He responded condescendingly, “yeah, well I’m literally looking at the email.” After I got off the phone and looked I realized he was not looking at an email sent to me from Linoto but at the email I had sent Linoto earlier, one of multiple that I didn’t receive any response to.

On July 25th, I called for an update since it had been over a month since the initial order and since the person I spoke with on July 13th didn’t seem to understand what updates were actually being sent out or not. I was not upset about things taking longer due to higher demand. Who I spoke with said a pair of soon-to-be-made XS shorts would be mine. In “about another week.” Since I was told on July 13th that the size could be changed from XS to S, I tried to relay that conversation. What was unacceptable was when I tried to do that, I was cut off and continued to be talked over when I said “please let me finish” repeatedly. I was simply trying to relay relevant information to my order, and was denied the opportunity to speak.

The person showed no remorse in how he spoke to me, but rather justified just my general experience with how stressed they are. I understand things are stressful and I understand extended times, certainly. I’ve worked jobs where I have to deal with angry customers. It’s not fun! I never expressed any anger or unkindness for delayed production times. What is angering is the way I was talked to and talked over when trying to better understand my purchase and ensure the order update was recorded. That’s what’s unprofessional. That’s why I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I’ve been refunded.

Items I ordered never came, and after multiple emails (and even using their website comment/question forms) I never heard from them. Now I have the fun of flagging this with my credit card. Would not order from again.

Nice towels

Nice, well-made products. I am happy with the towels. They are thick and absorbent. Mine are not as soft as they could be as I line dry everything.

Amazing farbric

Amazing farbric. I'm not a huge fan of the top of the duvet cover - it's just a wrinkled mess all the time. But the fabric is amazing.

Beautiful linen sheets

Beautiful linen sheets - accurate colour, good balance between smoothness and texture, excellent quality.

My only criticism is that they were a little slow to ship but they were very helpful and friendly when I emailed asking for an update.

I would absolutely shop from Linoto again without hesitation - just trying to decide which of their lovely colours to try next!

Attention to detail

These linen sheets are a favorite! I ordered the color butternut and what a pop of color.. It takes my red and gold bedroom to another level. The flanged pillowcases are classy enough for being a part of my pillow assortment atop my quilt.. Love that there is a top hem on the flat sheet and wider side hems than all my other linen sheets. I have 2 other brands of linen sheets but these are my favorite.They are the best looking and the best sleeping ones I own. Wonderfully cool and comfortable.I always had to sleep with my feet sticking out from under the sheets, but these are gentle and soft and my feet are pampered. It takes awhile to get the sheets but so worth the wait...

Everyday luxury

The linen sheets are so comfortable. They have a lovely soft texture and heft. Very luxurious. The quality feels incredible. I can't wait to get into bed! I should have splurged on these years ago.
