Lovely chocolate & raspberry cake, not too sweet and beautifully presented. Also tried the tiramisu cake which was very tasty.

Lola’s began back in 2006 with a simple aim: to bake beautiful, fresh cakes every day. Starting as a small bakery, we quickly grew and went on to open flagship store in Selfridges and, today, we have over 30 locations in and around London!

The most horrible and disgusting Victoria Sponge Birthday Cake
I ordered the Victoria Sponge Cake at Lola's in Victoria on Wednesday 8 April 2026 and collected the said Cake on Friday 10 April 2026 from Lola's in Victoria, for my Son's birthday on 11 April 2026. I was shocked, the most horrible and disgusting Cake!!!! The top of the Cake and Inside the Cake had all these rotten berries!!!! It was so expensive; I paid £50 for the medium birthday Victoria Sponge Cake. The said Cake was not very nice at all!!!! A Supermarket bought Cake would have been better. I threw the Cake straight in the bin! I AM VERY UPSET AND VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN BUY FROM LOLA'S!!!! RUBBISH!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about your recent order with us.
I am very sorry to hear that you were extremely disappointed with your order and shocked to see that the fruits were mouldy and we apologise for the upset caused as a result.
I can assure you that this is not up to our usual standards and this is not a regular occurrence with us.
We do always try and source the freshest fruit possible, however sometimes due to the high sugar levels in our products and heat, this can cause the fruit to ripen faster than we would like.
I can also assure you that all of our cakes are freshly baked and prepared for the date of delivery so I am sorry this has happened.
I will be in touch via email so that we can investigate this further, report it back to the bakery, and resolve this for you.

The cake was fab
The cake was fab, but it would have been helpful to know that you don’t provide carrier bags big enough for the bigger cake boxes. I had a really stressful time trying to find a bag to carry the cake with. Even just a string would be helpful to use to create a loop to carry the cake box from. If I knew this in advance I would’ve brought a bag!

The cake i pick up red velvet was for 10 people according to your website site it also look a lot bigger on your website than in reality was most disappointed when I pick the cake up did not serve 10 fully grown adults portions where very small guests disappointed also staff at Victoria not helpful

There is a serving guide on each product page of the website that will tell you how many slices the cake will serve, along with a full list of dimensions so you can ensure the size is suitable for your needs.
Our servings are based on small party size slices due to a high nutritional value of these cakes.

Turned up at 7pm at Victoria place to…
Turned up at 7pm at Victoria place to pick up our cake. They were closed and it was so shocking as on my email and when you check online they are ment to be open until 8pm . I was working near by that why I only could pick up the cake at that time. Luckily a security help us to retrieve the cake . They cake was nice but it has a very strong taste of sponge mix which i never tasted before as I have ordered this cake before. In future the staff need to stick to the time before closing the store an hour early.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused on this occasion. A lot of our store locations were operating reduced opening hours during the festive period which we did link in the order confirmation emails for customers. The Victoria branch did close at the earlier time of 7 pm during the festive period. I will pass on our feedback to our teams so that we may improve on this for the future.
With regards to the cake taste, I can assure you all cakes are freshly baked and prepared fresh for the date of delivery/collection. All cake sponges and icings are prepared at our bakery by our teams using fresh ingredients, we do not and have not ever used any pre bought mixes. I will of course also note your feedback about this.

Great packaging but cake can be improved
Great packaging and looks. Cake can be fluffier and frosting less sweet. Flavours like coffee and walnut would be nice. Also please do smaller birthday cakes.

Thank you for taking your time to share your feedback with our team regarding your purchase of our Vanilla Cake.
We are sorry to hear that you found the cake to be too sweet and the texture to be lacking.
Please do be advised that we recommend of leaving our cakes out at least 2-3 hours serving as this can otherwise affect the cake taste and texture negatively if this recommendation is not followed.
We also recommend that our American style buttercream icing, used in some of our cakes such as the Vanilla Cake, is our sweetest icing option and that you may enjoy our cakes with cream cheese or mascarpone icings if you find the buttercream to be too sweet.
I have been sure to pass on the details of your feedback, including your interest for additional cake flavour options and smaller cake sizes, to our bakery and product development teams for further review.
