Came to do an EICR check
Came to do an EICR check, gave me a C2 for mixed brand MCBs. When I queried why they gave this rating they said it was in line with the Best Practice Guide 4. When I checked the Best Practice Guide 4 it clearly says a C2 is only given when there are signs of thermal or physical damage to a mixed brand MCB, no such damage was noted. After several emails and calls (including one where they muted themselves) they were unable to provide an explanation of why they were in fact deviating from the guidance. This is just a ploy to get you to book additional work with them.

Hi Mike, thank you for your review. We always follow BS7671 requirements and the recognised Best Practice Guides when coding EICRs. C2 coding is not given to encourage extra work - it is only applied when the engineer believes there is a potential safety risk that requires attention.
We can explain the code in detail and ensure everything is 100% clear.
Your safety and confidence in our service is important, and we are committed to resolving this professionally.

Avoid London Safety Certificate
We contacted London Safety Certificate on 20 May requesting urgent asbestos testing our flat, specifically the ceiling, clearly citing our concerns. Despite confirming an inspection for 22 May and promising a report within 5–7 working days, we had to chase them on 9 June—over 10 working days later—only to receive a report that completely ignored the ceiling we had repeatedly flagged. When questioned, they claimed no specific sampling instructions were given and initially demanded £150 for a revisit, only agreeing to waive the fee after we pushed back. Following a second inspection on 16 June, we again had to chase for the report and were given contradictory updates—first told no asbestos was found, then hours later informed it was present in the ceiling. Their original report falsely suggested the property was asbestos-free (having completely ignored the ceiling), and had we relied on that, we would never have known about the actual risk. The entire experience was marked by delays, miscommunication, and serious professional negligence.

Dear Iain,
Thank you for your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet the standards we strive to uphold. We take asbestos-related concerns very seriously, and our intention is always to provide clear communication and thorough service.
After reviewing our records, we acknowledge there was a delay in report delivery and confusion regarding the initial ceiling sampling instructions. However, we did conduct a revisit at no additional charge, and your report was corrected accordingly once clarification was received.
We understand your frustration and regret any inconvenience caused. Please be assured that your comments have been shared with our management team, and we are already implementing improvements in internal communication and reporting accuracy to prevent similar issues going forward.
If you wish to discuss the matter further or require any support, we’re more than happy to assist directly. Your satisfaction is important to us.
