I would have given 5 star but communication was lacking.
I ordered an oak table and four chairs. The quality is great and well made.
I didn't always get updates even though I left messages on answerphone and email.
When I commented on social media I got an answer a couple of hours later.
I would highly recommend this company for quality.
If they kept customers up to date without us having to chase up orders then this would be a 5 star company.

A great experience from start to finish, and a stunning desktop to show for it. Ordering, production, delivery and after-sales care were all impeccable. The desktop is made from generous slabs of oak that really showcase the grain, giving the desk a premium feel. Everything was exactly as requested, beautifully finished, and smells wonderful. The solid wood has real presence: its surface feels grounding, and the way light catches the grain, almost iridescent, is genuinely delightful. The fact that it’s custom made in the UK, by hands that clearly know their craft, only adds to how meaningful and special this object is for me. It’s strange how something that could seem so simple as a piece of wood can feel so rich.

The finished product I got (a desk top and matching shelf I'm using as a monitor riser) was fantastic. The colour of the white oak looks fantastic, modern yet timeless. Made exactly to my spec and taste, it's something I'm going to keep and appreciate for life.

Expensive, yes, but high value, money well spent.

Communication was good, I made a change after ordering, and it was accommodating without hesitation. Delivery driver friendly.

I ordered an extra large bespoke monitor shelf, that I could use on my work desk to store a digital piano when not in use. After checking online for reviews, I filled out the order form, including the purpose of the piece. I was impressed to receive a suggestion for a small amendment to the height of the shelf which I gratefully agreed to. The quote was a little more than I was hoping to pay, but decided to treat myself for Christmas!

I submitted my order on Christmas week and was pleased to receive it on 3rd March. The item was extremely well packaged, so much so that I initially thought they'd sent me the wrong thing, I even phoned them up to discuss it further. They were lovely on the phone, politely suggesting I fully unpackage the item, then contact them if there was an issue. I was also reassured that if there was an issue they were there to help. Once I'd removed the packaging (took me 10 mins with my strongest kitchen scissors - it included pieces of wood, large pieces of chipboard and an island of foam packaging), I was delighted to see that I had received exactly what I hoped I'd ordered. I'm really pleased with the finish and care that I feel has gone into the item from order to delivery.

I ordered a circular oak table and chairs. I am so very pleased with my order. Beautifully made! True craftmanship! I am incredibly impressed and thoroughly recommend this company. What a lucky find for me! Delivery went smoothly. What a treat to hear how much the driver enjoys working for this company! A very 'big' thank you to you all. I so appreciated the 121 communication.

Love my table.
I was looking for my perfect table for a while and wanted something a little different. I avoid the highstreet shops where possible as I like support smaller a business and prefer handmade. I’ve been really happy with it. I opted to go collect instead of delivery as I did think that was expensive. I’ll be back to get some chairs shortly.

I am very happy with my small table for my utility room. It was as described, well made, lovely finish and delivery was on time and the driver courteous. No problems with my experience and l would use Made in the Cellar again. Thank you.

I ordered a custom Isaden compatible destop in Birch Ply and paid in full. Lead time was supposed to be 6-8 weeks.
I strongly advise getting a wood sample and checking the product carefully. I paid a premium price and was really excited about getting my new desktop, but my heart sank when I opened it up and found an sloppy, unfinished product (no Idasen holes drilled), which wasn't anything like the wood sample I was sent.
I emailed them straight away, but it took 9 days for them to offer a replacement or refund because the person handling the case went on leave and didn't hand over to anyone, leaving me to chase a response. It turns out the desk had been made in Rubberwood ply, a cheaper and less durable material. They were apologetic and blamed illness for the slow response, so I thought things would improve.
I agreed to a replacement, which they said they could make in 2 weeks. I gave them the next available week I could accomodate a delivery but then communication fell silent again and I had to chase a response and wait.
They refused to tell me which day the delivery would be because they were planning it around their own schedules. Still no update on Wednesday the week before the delivery. Only after I chased them, they slotted a delivery in for the last slot at the end of the week.
Their laissez faire response feels like they just did not take this error seriously. If it was me, I would have gone out of my way to respond quickly and offer reassurance to the customer.
I purchased this item in the belief I would have it within 8 weeks but in total it took 13.5 weeks. Wasn't worth the stress, hassle or the disruption of having to accomodate two deliveries on working days. I've had a hollow apology but they still charged me full price because they don't do partial refunds, "mistakes can occasionally happen" and they think they "resolved the error swiftly in the agreed timeframe".
I really feel taken advantage of and they clearly don't care about the impact of their behaviour on me. I wish I had gone to a different company.

Great quality for a great price.

Always a risk ordering an item online but my table arrived yesterday and I am really pleased.

Made in the Cellar are great! I have a thick pine dining table and it is beautiful. The finish is hardwearing whilst keeping the natural colour and feel. It is super high quality, we have been using it regularly for about 18months, and it will last us for many years to come I'm sure!

They quoted me a great price, and delivered the table top on time - communication was good, really nice to work with, thank you!

Not only did I choose the exact table, chairs and bench with beautifully painted legs from a great website in time for Christmas, but the customer service was fantastic from Nikki as she helped me buy the correct cleaner to get rid of a red stain on my gorgeous oak table top - too much celebrating!
This is what you get from an experienced small business who actually care about their customers and know their products.

In line with previous reviews, I was a little apprehensive about buying a table and chairs on-line without having a chance to look at the finished article or similar. However we wanted something a little different to the standard high street offering so decided to go for it. All aspects of the interaction with MITC, from ease of ordering to delivery, went smoothly. The team are friendly, professional and happy to answer questions. We ordered a table, two chairs and a bench and all are perfect. The photos on-line, while a good portrayal, definitely do not do it justice in the flesh. It's changed the space it now occupies and we just can't stop looking at it. It might sound silly raving over a dining set but we love it so much. The table top is chunky and smooth and the chairs have a simple elegance. It's great having a choice of colours to compliment your own space.

I was nervous about purchasing a table and bench online but I needn't have worried. From start to finish the service was exemplary and the table and bench are great quality - very happy customer!
