Great experience moving with this company. They were on time and got the job done when they said they would. James, Walter and VaSean were very nice and got things moving. Nice working with them. Don McCloskey finished up with the TVs and then when my wife and I started unpacking I contacted Don to ask if there was anyway he could get some guys over here to help. We've got 2 little girls and expecting a third and Don understood how overwhelming it can get and got a crew lined up to help us. Great crew, great company

Simple outstanding!! Brandy and Renee’s administrative expertise along with Greg’s dispatching brilliance could only be superseded by the superior moving crew of Barry, Chris, Devonte and Jahmal. The owner, Mr. Josh Johnson should be proud of the team he has so expertly assembled. Specifically, we had two separate moves with Southern Maryland Moving Company; we moved from southern Maryland to their storage facility and six months later to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. These moves were conducted flawlessly. Mr. Johnson himself spoke with us numerous times to answer questions. His initial quote was 20% less than the final moving costs which is unheard of in this line of work. This company is simply outstanding! If your moving look no farther as this is the company you should use. Simple outstanding!

They happily accommodated us when we had to change our move date and their responsiveness to our calls and messages was so appreciated. Moving from MD to NC was a bit stressful for our family but they gave us peace of mind every step of the way. What a smooth moving experience! The guys arrived early and moved everything in a timely and efficient manner. We had some fairly large and heavy items, but it was no problem for them. Everything arrived to our new location in perfect condition. Would use them again!

Our experience left us feeling traumatized. Our move did not go as we expected, and our furniture was damaged. When we confronted the owner, he became belligerent. We felt as though we were being bullied, blackmailed, and that the owner cares more about his star rating than he does about actual customer service. When we left a negative review, the owner threatened us with litigation if we did not take the review down. We felt that he would rather bully a customer into giving him an unearned 5-star review than try to earn it from his customer. Also, I noticed that one of the 5-star reviews left on this site was by a person whom has the same name as the owner.
We refused to sign an NDA that forces us into silence so that we cannot tell others of our experience.

Very professional reliable and trustworthy

We reserved Southern Maryland Moving Company for an upcoming local move that involves two different origin locations, and requested packing materials at both. They failed to deliver our boxes on the scheduled date, and then messed up again two days later. Attempts to speak with the owner, Josh, were met with defensiveness and rudeness: he wouldn't allow me to speak and hung up on me. He told us to get another mover, refunded our deposit, and now we have no mover and a tight timeframe to move. Thanks for nothing.

Needed a last minute kitchen pack up. Josh kept me updated on the crews status as they were fitting me in same day. Had two guys work hard and were in and out in an hour Great help that saved us hours and a fair cost
