McQuaide Watches is a British microbrand based in Reading, founded on a simple belief: Damascus Steel shouldn't be reserved for one-off limited editions. Every case we produce is forged, not etched, a real pattern-welded steel, with all the character and unpredictability that comes with it. Our Cosmopolitan Collection brings that steel to dress watches, spanning four colourways from the deep tones of Midnight to the warmth of Sunburst. Our Quest Collection takes it underwater, with a 1000m dive watch built for real use, 120-click bezel, BGW9 lume, sapphire crystal, released in small assembled batches across Abyss, Obsidian, and Crimson. We're a one-person operation, which means when you write to us, you're talking to the person who designed the watch, sourced the steel, and packed the box. That's by design. Delighted with the watch it is a real peace of work. I also have the steel strap to go with it, very well built too.

I bought a watch at the Watchit event…
I bought a watch at the Watchit event on the 21st June 2025, and it is now my everyday wear. I have a collection built over 50 years of around 200 and this goes into my top 5. Value for money, it is probably the top 3 and specification as well, with the big difference being the others are 5k plus. Anyone sitting on the fence should stop and buy one now. British built excellence!

Amazing inaugural watch from McQuaide!
I received the Q1 watch today, and am so impressed with the build quality, the beauty and strength of the design, and the attention to detail. The accuracy of the movement is also top notch. Congratulations to Rob McQuaide and the team who made this happen as it is a triumphant first watch to deliver! I have dozens of other top microbrands watches and am very impressed with McQuaide!

The McQuaide brand has really impressed me throughout my experience with them. Communication was fast and transparent, and it was clear from the beginning that they take great pride in what they do.
It’s not often you come across a company that gets both the product and the service exactly right. This website and brand has really impressed me with their personable approach and great customer sevice. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

First of all, I want to say how happy I am with the Q1 Damascus steel watch!
The quality is superb, and what you get for the money is incredibly impressive. The bezel has a very satisfying click and no backward movement whatsoever. The watch case is a work of art, I’ve already had people comment on it.
Secondly, I’d like to mention the excellent service I received when ordering from the website.
I had a few questions about the watch, and the customer service team responded quickly and answered everything clearly. The website is straightforward to use, with quick and easy payment options.
To conclude, I just want to say how pleased I am with the entire process.
A British built piece of art, with specs to rival some of the big brands. I would 100% recommend it.
